The amount of products are rather overwhelming and confusing. This time was different. I entered into the fairly new Vitamin Shoppe, which is next to the Verizon Wireless store in the new shopping center in Gambrills. I wanted to check out a few vitamins that could improve my work out and health. I was greeted by the awesome manager, Sonya. She took time to find out what my vitamin needs are and she explained a few products that could possibly work for me. After asking me what I currently take and what I want to achieve with the vitamins, Sonya made her suggestions and urged me to check with my personal trainer and doctor for what I actually need. I've never had anyone literally walk me through a vitamin store and explain the products. Sonya even offered to write down the items she suggested so I can do some research before making my purchase. She was very personable, friendly and extremely helpful! I truly appreciate her taking the time to assist my vitamin needs and not try to sell me items that aren't necessary for me. Stellar customer service!!!! I shall return after I complete my homework.

This is the closest GNC to home so I stopped by. Great place. Clean, well stocked with just about everything and had exactly what I was looking for. The sales guy was great. Friendly. Knowledgeable. I couldn't ask for more. The only downside is parking. It's a problem at Bowie Town Center. You'll never get a spot in front of the store. But, hey, the exercise is good for you.

I knew what I wanted and went a straight to the items and found they were on sale so I save a little bit of money. I wish I would have purchased this water because it's some of the best water I have ever had. Some people in the community don't understand that this is essentially a supplement store. No Vicks capo run or tums. A little old lady with a walker came in and asked for Aspercreme with lidocaine while I was in there. The employee said "I never heard of that" and proceeded to look at the joint section. I told the employee that she should maybe direct her to go to the CVS or Rite Aid. When you go to these places, the majority of the employees know where you need to look but they don't know what you should be taking. A place like My Organic Market has a specialist (at least the one in Bowie) that seemed to know everything you would ever want to know about every plant extract and or supplement in existence. It seems like someone could have made an early morning run to restock. This isn't the first time, either. Every time I try to order an açaí bowl, there's always an issue: either they're out of açaí or they don't have fresh fruit. For a business that specializes in açaí bowls, that just doesn't make sense. On top of that, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I greeted the manager with a friendly "Good morning," and her response was simply, "How may I help you?" in a tone that made it seem like she didn't want to be there. He said well yea, I'm that confident in this product that I'm sure you will be back....I was sold at that moment with the level of customer service that I said hey, I will buy it anyway because any person whose willing to postpone a sale must really believe in this product. Long story short, the product was indeed a winner and I will certainly continue to support GNC and will make this location my permanent spot.
