Do NOT let this guy come out through your home warranty. There seems to be a trend here with home warranty companies and this man. Our HWA sent him out on 5/14/26 to see what was going on with our not working AC unit. He bashed Bryant Heating & Cooling from the beginning (we were hoping for a quick fix). He had to file multiple reports and blamed everything on our warranty people. He just wasn't going to get the money out of us that he thought he would. They ordered the parts and have been sitting there for 2 weeks is what HWA told us and that he just stopped answering their calls. It's been over a month since our AC went out and it's hot!! All he does is bitch and blame other companies and it's never his fault. Is this how you treat a VETERAN??? - that was his quote to our HWA. MY AC quit working one morning and I opened a service request through my Home Warranty on a Saturday and it got assigned to CC & Son. I had to wait until Monday to get in touch (fine - I read the fine print), but I called them 3 times only for the phone to just ring through, it was 90 degrees and I wanted to see when I could expect them out. A nice young woman eventually called me back about 1 PM and said they could schedule me for Wednesday because they were on vacation? I think it's odd a Home Warranty can schedule you with a tech who is not available but that is probably a problem with AHS. Anyway, I digress... I ended up having some guys over to look and give me a replacement quote just in case... Didn't need it. The compressor was bad and $250 later I had A/C. Where the 1 star is coming in... I called AHS to cancel the service request so I wouldn't have any negative marks on my account. They said they needed the contractor to cancel first so they can refund me my service fee... Lo and behold CC & Son still isn't answering their phones. I got a call from someone on Tuesday night confirming the appt. but I told him it wasn't needed and he could cancel the request. It is now Thursday, one day after my appointment, and my service request is still open, I can't get ahold of anyone at CC (Which is bizarre, AHS has been WAY more responsive and Home Warranties can be iffy). I would really like *someone* to answer the phones so I can get my $125 back. The only positive in dealing with these guys has been I have learned that my home warranty company is actually really responsive and I found another HVAC guy who I will call instead if I need help with my AC (shoutout 3D Heating and Cooling!). TLDR: These guys don't answer their phones, no other way to get in touch. Find someone more responsive. read more

Company advised they would be out on Friday, however Charlie came out a day early and completed the work. We hired through our home warranty. Caveat, I've dealt with multiple home warranty companies, and I don't think they are the best in treating contractors. Home warranty companies typically want to "bandage" the problem and unfortunately the service providers get the complaints from customers, I've been one of those customers. Do not let them work on anything in your home, incompetence personified, their Tech informed me the reason my HVAC went out was due to the previous HVAC company performing "shoddy work" but they were the last HVAC company to service my HVAC system, it was their "shoddy work". If your warranty company sends them your service request, cancel it, endure the heat, until the next company becomes available, it's a reason why they are available. read more

I contacted the home warranty company on Tuesday, Sept 2 about my sister's AC not cooling to initiate a claim for service. It took several days before we received notice that we had a repair man assigned and they would be out the following Monday (7 days later). C C & Son called Saturday morning to come out and we gladly said YES. Charlie Paden was honest, explained the issues with our HVAC but could not repair until the home warranty company said okay. The repair was completed September 17, (15 days after the initial call for repair). The issues I've experienced in dealing with repairs we expect should be easy since we purchased a home warranty, right? Heat went out on Friday before a major snow storm. Charlie and Greg answered my request for service within an hour through my warranty. They gave me an estimate of the time and called me before they came which was earlier. They came in quickly, fixed the problem and showed me the part they replaced . Our home warranty company sent CC & Son (Charles Paden and his son) to check our heating system after we noticed a burning smell coming through the vents. He came, checked, said nothing was wrong (he just had to flip the breaker) and we paid him $100 cash. Then the smell happened again and we called a different technician to get a second opinion, and he found two wires that had been burning by the heat pump. There were holes in the rubber covering the wire from being burned. The second technician said these wires were easy to find and Charles didn't do his job. I believe CC & Son's laziness and unprofessionalism could have ended very badly for my family. I have two young children whose home could have caught fire. read more

Charlie and his son were great and quick. I wasn't even home, but they squeezed me in while on their way back from another job. This company is HORRIBLE! The guy Charlie is very rude and unprofessional. He yells and doesn't fully explains himself when you ask clarifying questions. This is the third time he has been to our home, not by our choice but sent out by our home warranty. He was unable to fix our heater when he came in January of 2025. He also got our claim denied by our home warranty by stating that a foreign object when inside our unit. When my husband asked what was the foreign object that he was reporting to the warranty company, his reply was, "you see this black thing, it's original to the unit but it has some how come loose". We then proceed to ask, if its original to the unit, how does that make it a "foreign object"? He then proceeds to speak loudly saying he's not gonna argue and we can get a second opinion. Fast forward to present day, he came to "fix" our unit and immediately comes in with his poor attitude and lack of people skills. He then walks in my house not even 2 mins after looking at the unit and said who was the last person that looked at your unit. I said I am not sure but can check my records through my home warranty. He then stated that I was here before and what did I tell you last time. I said I am not sure. He proceeds to name things wrong with the unit and I said "huh" he said ohhhh I'll just show you. Then he takes me outside when another guy is working. Then says something about my fans blowing the wrong direction, a box being disconnected and something about the capacitor. He then speaks to the guy working stating, I'll just report it and we can get American home shield to pay. Then walks to his car to grab paperwork, after being here not only 5 mins. I asked the guy that was, what is he talking about, his response, I dont know, I just do the work. The guy comes back with the paperwork and say, I am reporting this. I said can you just explain to me what you are reporting so I can understand. He said my fans were pointing in the wrong direction, my capacitor was broken, the box was open and someone without a license touched the unit. Which I said thats not true he then started to yell that I wasnt going to get him to lose his license. I said what are you talking about. At this point he is speaking loudly waving his hands. I called a contractor that I know personally that has their license and let him listen and talk to Charlie. He talked to him for a quick second and then Charlie handed me back the phone and said that guy doesnt have his license does he? I said yes he does and he told me the guy didnt. He then proceeded to walk to his truck. He was still yelling all the while. I then told him to not come back to my house. He got back out of truck and started yelling and I told him that I would report him and his false findings. His partner sat there the entire and never intervened. I am a woman that was home alone with my 4 year old son. The least the other could have done was to tell Charlie to relax. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They will waste your time and money! They are not professional what so ever! I wanted to give it no ratings but I couldnt. Also, I forgot to mention last year he was the one thar serviced our unit and he was asking who serviced it last. There service was awful, they wanted to charge my home warranty company for a part they fixed 6mnths ago. They came out to repair my AC . 6mths ago and said the furnace needed a part. when finished AC was still not working and he had a part in the truck...hummm 6mths later the furnace needs the same part he supposedly replaced. home warranty did not approve his request this time. Friendly technician, however when surmised that they were not able to service my ac this panel - which was never open before or left open by anyone before - was left open and bent. Quick to get home warranty service fee, but did not show me what he was doing. He said that he "unplugged" something but never informed me of what, even after texting after he left and asking. First response he said "leave a good review on Yelp". Very frustrated and upset I then texted him with a specific question, repeated my original question, saying I needed help and an explanation! All I received back was a text saying that I should "plug it back in". I have no idea what he is talking about or what "it" is! Subsequent texts he never responded to. Now this bent panel is open to the elements, it cannot be reattached, does not "plug in" or snap close. Nothing I see around it looks like it needs to be "plugged in". He has never explained to me what exactly has to be plugged in. He should not have unplugged anything in the first place! He left me really stuck. Would not recommend. Leave a good Yelp review? C C & Son came out for a service call for a non-functioning A/C unit via Choice Home Warranty. After seeing some of the other reviews here, I took the initiative to call the day before and text pictures and information about the make, model, and exact problems with the unit, so as to ensure they would have the parts necessary to complete the repair. Charlie was pleasant, and once he saw that I was conversant in repairs and would be there the whole time to watch and learn the repair, he was mindful to explain. He changed out the capacitor, installed a new compressor for the fan, and checked all hoses for temperature and leaks. While I didn't love the manner in which he removed the old shutoff switch (just ripping it out and tying new wires into a nut over the fan), on the whole it was a successful repair done in a timely manner. read more

They were sent out by our home warranty company (which has also been another issue). Our HVAC unit is older, but has never had a problem. The fan motor had stopped spinning hence why they came out. The technician replaced the condenser motor fan and capacitor but didn't know how to replace it himself. Had to "phone a friend" to help assist in getting power to the motor. It worked for a couple hours and then just stopped. When we paid the technician he "guaranteed" his work for only 24 hours to begin with and then when we called a few hours after he left to tell him the unit had stopped working, gave us a runaround for a few days and then just stopped answering our calls. I wouldn't be surprised if this company and our home warranty company have some shady underground racket going on. I wouldn't recommend this company for anything. read more

The 1st time they came all he did womplain about the home warranty company not paying him which is not my problem just fix the hvac system. Which got working but it never got cold. Within 32 hours the system stopped running and sounded like it had blew up. They xame back out then said the home warranty was charging me for to fix it which was a whole othee issue so i refused to pay. Then came back again bought the wrong part had to get get another one then came back trying to charge me for parts that the hime warranty was paying for. Put the pary on then left mad saying the air was working after system running for more then 12 ton24 hours it never got cold just feels like a fan is running now they wont come back to get the system to cool which more tgen likely is freon that needs to be adfed to get things cold..they are awful and stole my screw driver from the first time they here. How do u come to fix something and dont have tools asking the home owner for shit and dont like to leave receipts...would never use them again ridiculous to say the least. read more
