Truly so surprised at Cory B's experience. I have gone to Cheryl for several years and other people I know for 18 years +. I have never had had any issues with her personality or service. !!I actually look forward to the TLC I have become accustomed to after my 1 1/2 hour commute from work !!! CC skincare has a sign in both front and back (two entrances) so not sure how Cory B got lost, and in the rain.?? It has not rained in the SFV for months. Initial conversations were so full of light and sweetness. Business owner turned selfish and indifferent once things did not go smoothly (her wax tech spilled wax on my clothes despite being "expert") on initial appointment. She failed to mention business is in unusual (delightful) old-school building behind another business, so I drove up and down in the rain for 10 minutes before the aesthetician shared what to look for (and apologized Owner had failed to describe unique building address). As mentioned, wax tech dripped wax on my pants and instead of being kind about, Cheryl literally says, 'Well, you shouldn't wear something nice to a waxing appointment'. ??!!! How's that for a professional and kind? I didn't; but they are clothes I'd like to wear again. Do you want wax dripped on ANY of your clothing, nice or not?? THEN Cheryl says she's uncomfortable working on me now because she's 'been in this business long enough I just want EASY'... In other words - she drops the ball and not telling me how to find the address, and then her freelance waxer accidentally stains my clothes - and now that's "difficult"! THIS IS DESPITE her telling me how lovely and courageous I am for surviving yet another round of cancer treatment... AND am in the process of helping other friends going thru their own treatments. Business owner clearly is not as kind, warm, nice, or caring as she presents - but it's a great business pitch. Insincere, and quite honestly sad behavior. Don't tell someone what a pleasure it will be to work with them on healing and feeling good ... and then turn around a week later after your business musses up and say you "just want easy..." Not humane nor respectful. NOTE: I have no doubt Cheryl will have her own spin - as she clearly doesn't see her own behavior clearly, and was looking for any excuse not to honor her initial kind words, after feeling "uncomfortable" that she dropped the ball on communicating how to locate her business, AND her freelance waxer having mussed up my clothing. I am a long time client of Cheryl"s for over 30 years. I actually found her when my daughter had the typical skin issues of a teen. Cheryl treated her with such loving care and after seeing immediate results, I decided to give her a try. I've never turned back. After a recent illness, i was finally allowed to have a facial yesterday and I'd forgotten how much I missed it! Of course my skin looks wonderful, but I also felt totally pampered and relaxed. Unlike other spas who upsell you with every product they use on your face, the only time there is any mention of a purchase is when I ask...she never offers. Yesterday was the perfect example, I noticed a lipstick display, asked about a certain shade and she told me that she reps Mary Kay (a line I have never used) but as luck would have it, I needed lipgloss and the shade was exactly what I was searching for (I could mention here that I went to Macy's in Burbank to try and find it, but they were all out - of almost everything & sales people - but that's another review.) I went to CC Skincare for the second time yesterday. Cheryl was who did my Brazilian this time. Horrible. The wax was hot during my wax, I mentioned it, and was told it had to be that hot. My skin now has burns and is extremely sensitive. I am supposed to be going on a trip in 2 days and am very upset. It hurts to walk, sit, etc. There is hair that was missed, broken at the root and when I mentioned that I noticed I was bleeding she responded with , "Oh that's nothing. Just put some Aloe Vera when you get home." I'm now stuck with burned and painful skin for my trip. Wonderful. *I've waxed for years. OMG I love this place and Cheryl! I originally got the microdermabrasion deal off KGB Deals, but she suggested I go for the deep cleansing and extraction. No pressure! She said she would do the micro if I wanted, or the cleansing which is what she suggested. When I asked her how much it would be, she said it wouldn't be an additional cost! She would just use the voucher that I purchased. How awesome is that?! I'm so glad I didn't have to pay extra to get a totally different service. Cheryl was nice, friendly and professional. She saw my face, it's acne and scars and didn't make me feel like a freak or lecture me. She only made simple suggestions, which I loved. The facial she gave me was...Heavenly! It felt like a massage for my face! Everything smelled so good and felt good on my skin. She used a facial steamer on my face, and also did some extractions. I LOVE how she didn't get grossed out with the extractions---she kept it super professional. She is such a genuine person and I 'm so glad I went to her. After the extractions, she put something cold on it---like an ice pack or something which felt good after the extractions. And finally, she put a steamed cloth on my face and I was done! I felt so refreshed and she took her time with the entire process. She even gave me two samples! So generous! One was a cleanser and the other was a moisturizer. After 1 month of backpacking through Europe my skin was very angry with me. What started as what I thought was just one pimple in Dublin became the first of unfortunately very many. I decided it was time to do something about it. I dug up an old SpaFinder certificate and searched for something in the LA area w/ great reviews. CC's Skincare seemed to have both great reviews on SpaFinder and Yelp, as well being in my price range, so I booked. :) Cheryl is a sweetheart. I originally scheduled for a back and face facial, and she was kind enough to not take my money for the back facial, because as she said, "I really don't need it". Cheryl was very gentle with her extractions, but also persistent. I am a baby when it comes to extractions and she was very patient with me and got as many out as I would let her. I grabbed a deal here through a site and though it was probably a typo (because the deal was too ridiculously good), she didn't question it at all and honored it but I did notice she changed her pricing a few weeks later. Her place is kind of small and cramped but considering how great she is and your overall experience, I don't think it was a negative factor at all. Even though she was alone with no other clients, there was strangely a 15 minutes waiting period prior to my appointment but once I was in, I was out and in my car in less than 20 minutes. I had a wonderful Ultimate Facial with Cheryl! I booked the deal with Lifebooker, which was an amazing price, just to check out the place. I used to get facials on a regular basis at another spa, but they've closed down so I've been looking for a new place. It looks like I found it! Cherly was very soothing and gentle (the extractions hurt, as always! No way around that. But the q-tip procedure is very cool. I hate the metal extraction thingy other places use). She was also very honest in recommending a much cheaper facial for next time, since she didn't think the more expensive Ultimate is necessary all the time. At the end of the facial, I got a mini goody bag which was great! Much better than the other place I used to go where they would constantly try to sell me their expensive products. I think a goody bag is much more effective and I'll be trying out the products. The venue itself is small, especially compared to the giant spas I'm used to going to, but that didn't detract from the experience at all. Overall, a wonderfully pleasant experience. I had a waxing appointment today that was suppose to last 45 mins. It lasted less than 10. I have a high pain tolerance and this was awful. I know not waxing for a bit can increase the pain but I was waxed a month ago and this was bad. I came home and still had hairs everywhere.
