I just wanted to highly recommend Natalya as one of my new favorites. She is so sweet and compassionate, and really heard my concerns about how I react to waxing. I have been coming here for about 4 years now (consistently, but not consistently if that makes any sense) and I have nothing but great things to say about Aya Sugaring expertise!! I switched over from hard waxing Brazilian (bye bye, European Wax Center) to sugaring and found this amazing gem. Every person who has serviced me has been great. The staff is very knowledgeable and super nice as they are trained by Aya herself. Aya's Sugaring Expertise is located in a building along with a few other businesses that have their own suites. You can easily find metered parking on the Riverside Dr. Soon as you enter into Aya Sugaring Expertise you are walking into a very calming environment. The interior is very minimalistic with a few business photos of Aya hanging. The room is completely white with cute white decor to welcome you to relax. Expect to listen to serene tranquil music, but conversation is always welcomed as well if you want to get to know your sugar expert I was helped by Aida today who was so sweet and tried to be as gentle as possible (I waited too long this time so she had some work to do, sorry Aida!!). What I loved about Aida was how fast and how careful she was in doing my Brazilian. She always checked in with me from time to time to see if I was doing okay and I greatly appreciated that. Been witb Aya for a long time. Even than somwtines it is hard for me to drive such a long way but in comparison to other places around LA this is the best palce to get sugaring! Aya and Molly do their job as real artist making my Brazilian spotless. I have sensitive dry skin that is easy irritating but after sugaring g with Aya I almost have no ingrown hair. I got my first sugaring experience almost three weeks ago. I had such an amazing experience with my technician. She provided a warm and calm environment! We ended up chatting the entire time. I have corse and curly hair that grows fairly slowly. In the past I would wax maybe once every 6-8 weeks. I'm prone to ingrown hairs so it would usually prevent me from going back more frequently. I've always wanted to try sugaring because it is supposed to hurt less than waxing and be better for in grown hairs. I will admit that while it hurt less than waxing, it is not a painless process. I would say if waxing is a 6 out of 10, sugaring is like a 4.5 out of 10. I did have an in grown at the time, and the technician worked around it, which I was really appreciative of! The main positive for me is that so far, I haven't gotten another in grown hair! My technician said that sugaring is a better process because it pulls the hair from the root and goes with the grain. All I can say is WOW! I have been brazilian waxing for years and decided recently to try sugaring. I can say that I will never go back to regular waxing after my experience with sugaring. I have been coming to Aya sugaring for 5 years. I have been sugaring for about 8. I used to go to Sugared and bronzed until I found a Groupon for Aya. Needless to say it only took me one experience to make sure I never went to anyone else again. I always used to dread going to the sugar salon or to get waxed for brazilians out of sheer pain and uncomfortability. Since changing to Aya, I have way less pain, much better service and experience, and a long lasting result. She trains all of her employees with the same gentle hand. I had Aida today and she was amazing. I've had to shave the last few months due to travel so I knew my pain level was going to be high and my hair more coarse. I have very sensitive skin, and haven't had the best experience with traditional waxing. I scheduled my first sugaring experience with aqua, and the experience was fantastic. Aya took her time and walked me through what she was doing, she meticulously removed ingrown hairs, gave me great guidance on post-sugaring care, and shared recommendations for future treatments that could be beneficial to me. I adore the owner, have in the past had good experiences, but she at present is off the grid, and at the moment they seem to be very shorthanded and the person doing the scheduling has not honored getting back to me twice. I'm hopeful to be able to connect with the owner when she is back on the grid to discuss some of the challenges over the past month. Have gone a handful of times, and was lucky to have the owner the first time, then Naza, but unfortunately ended up with a gal the past 2 times that spoke no English, new to America, and apparently also new to professional sugaring. My last experience there a few weeks ago was with a new gal from Russia who spoke no English (she had to call twice for help when she didn't understand me pleading with her not to please not go over the same area 20 times as that's abrasive and of course painful to the skin), was painfully inexperienced in terms of not hurting while pulling at the skin several times over, And was taking way too long to move through simple things like an under arm and a half arm. In fact- my whole service for under arm and a half arm took believe it or not over an hour - for hardly anything needing to be done! Directly after I did have a good conversation with the owner, but since then it seems that Christina has taken over all the communication and only works weekdays; as I mentioned she has not been respectful in honoring her promises to schedule. It seems the owner is unavailable at present, and unfortunately scheduling has fallen into the hands of Christina, who has texted some what unprofessionally a few times (laughing emojiis to indicate she's "kidding"), promised twice to get back with an appointment time, and both times did not follow through. With everyone struggling so hard to recover from Covid, it's disappointing when Businesses fortunate to be up, would be uncommunicative and insensitive to honoring their word. My waxer was sweet, but there was a huge language barrier which made communication challenging. The 'sugar' waxing experience was not an authentic sugaring experience and it was f-ing painful. The sugar wax technique used was just like a regular wax and this is not how it's supposed to be done. It's a very specific hand technique and a rolling of the wax that is not very painful at all. I have a high tolerance for pain but this waxer kept laughing at me, telling me that it didn't hurt. She ended giving me a deep discount at the end bc I think she knew it wasn't a pleasant experience, so that was appreciated. But honestly, I will never return. read more
