I got to meet Rachel, she's wonderful! Once we met and vibed, I am able to get scheduled with her on my preferred day/time and I have enjoyed meeting her monthly for my usual appointment and catch up. Shes so great and has referral ideas when I was looking for a place for dermaplaning or safe, cute outdoor places to explore in the area during my free time. If I have any questions or need to reschedule, she is a text away & so personable every time. With my appointment, the service is inclusive in how she is quick & thorough, and does a great job with the sugaring and exfoliating if need be. Her tips work well too! The exfoliating pads she recommends help after the first week of getting sugared and the after care is minimal if using those pads. I couldn't find the place but it is located right across from the Trader Joe's parking lot!! There are some spots in front but street parking it available too. Rachel greeted me right away. Told me she was still setting up and to take a seat. The place was small but cozy. She has little trinkets up and around the space. She asked me what methods have I been using for hair removal etc. I've never done sugaring before but found this via Groupon and read all the great reviews. They weren't wrong!! Her regular prices are a bit steep for me, but she did mention she plans on doing specials, so I'll try to catch them when she does. She explains everything to you every step of the way. After the sugaring she uses very natural lotions and oils to help prevent irritation and reduce redness. The process took about 30 mins or so. Pain wise, it was a little less painful than waxing except the upper pelvic area- boy did that hurt. Overall, great first time experience for sugaring.o read more

Rachel makes this experience as pain free as possible! She is good at stripping oils from your skin before waxing as well as exfoliates after to reduce ingrown hairs. I love the vibes of her studio and her calming voice and stress ball helps a lot too! Every visit I add a new service on, she's that good! Rachel is absolutely amazing. First things first, there is a small parking lot right in front of the studio (don't park in Trader Joe's!) or ample street parking near the area. She's always there to greet you, and she always has a smile on her face. I don't know how it's possible, but she makes me look forward to getting sugared because she makes me feel so comfortable and makes great conversation with you during the process. She also gives great advice on pre/post care and unlike other places, is never pushing products or other services on me! Rachel at Sweet as Sugar is AMAZING! I had never done sugaring before finding her (only waxing) and I can honestly say that I like sugaring way more and (in my opinion) it is DEFINITELY less painful than waxing. Rachel made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. Her quality of care is fantastic! What I love most about coming to her is the atmosphere that she provides - the space is clean and calming, and she is so attentive to her work. It feels like more of a spa experience than just hair removal - she takes such good care of your skin and always makes sure to rub your skin with natural oils and lotions to soothe the pain. When I would leave her appointment I would have absolutely ZERO pain (which is incredible because after all my waxing appointments I would always feel red and enflamed for quite a while after). I also love talking to Rachel! As an introvert I usually prefer to not chit chat during my spa experiences, but I actually looked forward to talking with Rachel every month! The way she converses with you takes your mind off the pain and helps the time go by quickly - she is so kind and engaging, it almost felt like therapy! Rachel was awesome! This was my first time sugar waxing. I only did my underarms bc I was nervous (and honestly it was my first time waxing anything ever, I only used a razor). It didn't hurt as much as I thought, only just some discomfort but after I looked at my underarms and all I can say is WOW! The skin is so smooth and looks like a whole new armpit lol. This was my first sugaring experience and I've definitely been converted! I've been getting waxed for years and had some painful experiences (and I have a very high pain tolerance). But Rachel made the experience very comfortable and painless. She made sure to explain everything to me and made sure I was comfortable the whole experience. Her studio was very intimate and hip. I'm so happy that I found Sweet As Sugar Studio! I love the vibe of the location, especially her Spotify playlist. Rachel is very sweet and makes sure you are comfortable from beginning to end. Rachel is amazing!! I couldn't be more happy with my visit! As a regular waxer who had poor experiences my last few visits, I was excited to try sugaring and Rachel exceeded my expectations! The studio was easy to find and I quickly found parking in the small lot and waited outside for a few minutes before my appointment. Upon meeting/entering Rachel had me fill out a Covid questionnaire and took my temperature before beginning. Then she asked me about my history with sugaring/waxing/etc and was sure to explain each product she was going to be using, why, and if I had any questions that I could ask them. As a regular waxer, I'm used to pain often followed by burning, but this didn't happen at all with sugaring! Rachel asked if I had any allergies before our appointment in the case my skin might react with some of her products (all natural and vegan!). Throughout the appointment she'd ask if everything was okay/if anything needed adjusting and frequently applied soothing lotions/balms to calm my skin! The visit lasted about a half hour (the actual sugaring portion) and I left in no pain which was the best surprise! I'll never go back to waxing -- especially with someone as conscientious, detail-oriented, and honestly as genuine and professional as Rachel doing the sugaring. Rachel is so awesome! She's given me a new lease on my unmentionable area! The whole process (Brazilian) took less than 30 minutes and although it was somewhat painful (it being my first time waxing the full Monty), no swelling or redness afterwards.
