I got a fabulous pedicure here this afyernoon. My stylist gave my feet a lot of care and they feel clean and soft now. I really liked the warm stone massage. I chose a champagne color. This is the best pedicure experience I've had in Glastonbury so far. I've lived here for over 30 years and this is the fourth salon I thought I'd try. Atmosphere is great, nail technician was thoughtful and attentive to my comfort and so far the polish looks good instead of wearing off almost immediately. Love the hourglass for when you're drying - my biggest complaint about other salons is that you are pretty much ignored once you pay, and I keep looking at the clock to figure out if my nails are dry yet. Came here with a friend since our regular place had no openings was pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of parking in the lot in front of the salon. The salon is conveniently located right off of route 2. The are ample pedicure and manicure stations in the salon. Staff kept with all safety precautions and equipment used were clean and sterilized. I got a pedicure which was reasonably priced and was very relaxing. At the end of my visit while my toes were drying, my technician gave me a nice shoulder massage. Oh my gosh. I just moved back to CT from CA and I was expecting at least subpar. They exceeded my expectations, I got a pedicure and was so well taken care of I couldn't believe it. The absolute best pedicure of my entire life and let me tell you, I am very bougie and don't usually care about the price. This was worth the money and I will be returning. I went with 2 girlfriends to Ceci's for a mani pedi yesterday. The place is clean and very well circulated as there was no strong chemical smell like other salons. We were greeted by the technicians upon arrival. Mia did my mani and pedi. The pedi included hot stone massage as well as a legs/feet massage. The massage chair was very nice. This place needs to figure out their scheduling. I made appointments for my friend and me 2 weeks prior. When we got there, there was only 1 nail tech they had planned to do both of our manicures aka my friend got hers while I waited 45 minutes and ultimately ended up leaving without a manicure or any services. There were only 3 people working at 5:00 on a Wednesday (typically a very busy time when people get out of work which is why I made the appointments 2 weeks in advance). I recently went to Ceci nails for a powder gel manicure. I was in so much pain I was wincing, as I would pull my hand away the man was getting more aggressive. He was holding my finger so tightly that I couldn't pull it away which also hurt. I said you are hurting me. I wanted to cry. He was filing my skin leaving all little scraps by my nails bed, this was even more painful as the coats over the powder were seeping into my skin. Days later and I am still in pain. Ok! Before last Monday I would have given this place 4 stars. Going to Ceci's has generally been a positive experience, and I have received at least a dozen very nice pedicures there. LAST WEEK: Great pedicure, exquisite foot and calf massage with warm stones, even. I should have left right after that---as I was sitting under the dryer, my pedicurist Tony came over and administered a shoulder and neck massage. It didn't feel as good as the foot massage, yet I assumed he knew what he was doing. Wrong! Once I (hopefully) recover from my arm, neck and even head pain, I will have to decide whether to go back! read more

Most recent visit convinced me I will not be back anytime soon or at least while Sue is the acting manager. Went for a mani pedi 90 minutes before the closed and they rushed thru by doing my hands and feet at the same time and I was done 40 minutes before they closed, which gave sue time to be on her cell phone. What is the point if I can't relax by reading a magazine and using the massage feature on the chair ? Even if they had been done independently, the services were so rushed that a $30 appt at the place near whole foods would've been better than this for the more expensive price. Two other people had similar experiences with sue while I was there - someone who had an appt for mani/pedi for a wedding and after the pedi was told by Sue - no time for a French manicure - that was the point if the reservation ! Another client was told they took too long to pick out their color so they couldn't get what they originally came for -a mani/pedi. Amy, who did the pedicure, did a better job and I feel bad for her and other people who work there that will have their income impacted by less tips due to the behavior of sue. Went for a spa pedicure. I get pedicures we often and was in the area and thought I'd try it out. Was honestly the worst pedicure I have ever had. The guy doing my pedicure didn't even touch my toenails besides taking off the polish and going to repolish them. I had to actually tell him he needed to do that part of the pedicure when I realized he was going to just slap on polish without even touching a nail file!! I was charged the full price and when I asked why, the man in charge said that the salon had used the same amount of water as a full pedicure. Meh, just meh. The problem is that there is such a difference in the quality of service depending on the employee that you happen to get. It is hit or miss. I had an awesome experience with Julie the first time I went, but unfortunately the last two times were just okay. Most recently I had Miram. Not good. The fifteen minute massage was 10 minutes with the rest of the time spent with her fetching supplies like the hot towel and hot rock. The language barrier is definitely an issue here. And at $50 a pop for a spa pedicure l am getting tired of leaving there feeling disappointed and ripped off. read more

I have twice been to Ceci recently and found one staff member to be extraordinarily rude. She is an older Asian women with short hair who handles the payment. Today, I was meeting a friend for a Pedicure. When I arrived at the scheduled appointment time, this woman advised that I did not have an appointment and could not get a pedicure. She chastised me for not making an appointment. My friend had called and scheduled appointments for both of us. I DID have an appointment. The miscommunication was on her end when she booked the appointments. Last month, I had 2 gel nails chip after a little more than a week. I was unexpectedly traveling out of town leaving the next day. I went back to Ceci and asked to have the nails repaired but I did not have time for a new full gel manicure. This same woman agreed to fix the nails but she was physically rough with me and mumbled angrily under her breath while she touched up the polish. I immediately made clear to her that I was willing to pay for the repairs but simply did not have time for a manicure. When she finished, she told me that it was time for a whole new manicure and that my manicure old. I explained to her again when I paid that this was an issue of time for me, that I was traveling the next day and didn't want to attend business functions with chipped nails but didn't have time for a full manicure. She waved me off with her hand and gave me a dirty look. Why would anyone make this woman the Face of their business when she is arrogant and repeatedly rude to customers? Whenever I go to Ceci, I do not feel welcomed and the experience is not relaxing. With so many other nail salons in town, Ceci needs to work on its customer service or it will continue to lost customers, like me. The pedicures are mediocre and overall the staff is unfriendly. read more

I have been going here for pedicures for quite a few years. At first I would walk in without an appointment. I was usually pleased. However I liked Kane best, so I started making appointments with him. I have a few things that don't allow me to give this salon more than 3 stars. First , even though I have been going there for years now, they never recognize me. But I always here them greet certain clients. I guess they frequent the salon more therefore spend more. I don't get my fingernails done with gel or lacquer every 2 weeks. Those services are more costly than a pedi every 4or 5 weeks. Then there is the point program where you earn so many points per dollars spent. The points add up to dollars earned for services. You need a Ce Ce's # or the last 4 digits of your phone #. As soon as your service is finished they ask you to pay, which is fine, however I have never been asked for my # to my points. I always have to ask them . Finally, today was what made me write this review. Two days ago I called to make an appointment with Kane . I had no problem getting the appt the girl even asked what time I would like. When I got there Kane was doing someone's fingers . After a few minutes a girl came over and asked, you have appointment with Kane? I said yes and she said " Kane very busy, 2 customers, someone else do your pedi? I didn't want to argue or make a scene so I said yes. However I was upset. My prior planning meant nothing to them. When they put certain clients or services over others, that's discrimination. To add to this insult, I sustained a physical injury. They have removed the waiting area that had a couch, a couple of comfortable chairs and a rug on the floor. While I waiting I sat in a chair at the pedicure drying station. The floor is some kind of smooth vinyl and the chairs have wheels that swivel. I had to hold the chair still to sit down! When I went to get up, the chair slid out from under me and I landed on the floor ! How embarrassing ! I landed hard especially on my left side, and now I am in pain. Just a bad experience. Will I go back?? I'm not sure. read more

I love CeCi Nail & Spa. They're always a good place for a quick manicure and some pampering. The staff is really friendly and my manicure seems to last a little bit longer than normal. You can't beat the combination of a manicure with parafin wax and neck massage for $12 plus tax. The pedicures are soothing for a price of $30. I've never made an appointment for a manicure or pedicure and haven't waited any more than 10 minutes if they've been busy during a walk in. My fiance was going to play a game of pick-up soccer in Glastonbury so I decided to turn to yelp for a nail salon...to kill time of course! ;-) I was very pleasantly surprised! I called ahead to make an appointment. I was running early so I showed up before my appointment time and they were able to accommodate and friendly about it. Michelle was my nail tech for my french gel manicure and she did an excellent job! She was very careful on filing my nails to the same length and very quick at applying the Shellac. I was really impressed with process of walking you to the sink and drying your hands for you. Also the ingenious idea of placing the hot towel in a plastic bag for the neck massage! Brilliant! Woohoo! Couple of cons -I should have paid cash. They give a discount for paying in cash. -They can't put the tip on the credit card transaction so I had to go down the street, totally walk-able, to the Bank of America. -I should have paid more attention when I asked for a french manicure because when I got outside I noticed the pink base color was actually a pearlescent pink. It made me feel like a 12 year old. I strongly prefer a matte pale pink, like Essie's mademoiselle or something comparable. When I mentioned my disappointment in the color (When I came back to tip Michelle in cash) the gentleman was very polite and said I could come back and they would fix it. In my experience, most spas fall in one of two categories: 1) the kind that has a fountain and soft music playing and provides you cucumber water and a plush bathrobe and 2) the in-and-out, walk-in, utilitarian places. The first is a place you go to treat yourself to something fancy or for an occasion, the second is more like a fun errand. Or you can look at like the difference between treating yourself to a fancy meal vs a latte or some decent takeout. I say all that to say: Ceci is in the second category, but for that category, it is totally great! They are definitely busy on most weekends and evenings, so occasionally service can be brisk but it is never overly so. I always feel comfortable and they keep the spa very clean. If you have a friend with you, they'll work to service you together as much as possible. For the price, you get a lot of extras - mini-massages, warm towels, paraffin wax treatments, etc. They recently started offering shellac pedicures in addition to shellac manicures and I do find getting the shellac on my toes makes my pedicure last a couple of weeks longer, so it's nice to do for summer. It's definitely worthwhile to join their loyalty program - I only get my nails done sporadically (every 6-8 weeks) and sometimes do it when I am out of town, and I still earn a $10 gift certificate in less than a year (plus you get one for your bday!). Also, they offer a discount if you pay with cash, so hit the ATM before you go. While their business is mostly walk-ins, at busier periods (i.e esp weekends), it does make sense to call ahead and make a reservation, otherwise you may be waiting a while. read more

I've been coming to CeCi Nail & Spa for at least a year or more. Of all the nail salons in the Glasonbury area, I have found this salon to be the best. The salon is clean and the nail techs sterilize their equipment after each use. The staff is always polite and friendly as well as open to conversation. I typically go every 2 weeks for a shellac manicure and monthly for a pedicure. I feel that the prices are reasonable. The quality of the work is typically above par with the other salons on the area. The best part is the heated massage that comes with each manicure and/or pedicure. read more

I come here about every two to three weeks for a pedi and mani and I really love this spot. The staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. This spot is big and even without an appointment I never waited more than five minutes. They have a lot of color choices even in gel colors which is great and they will due this for your pedi also. The chairs are all comfortable massage chairs during the pedicure and the tools are sanitized. Location is great near the highway and plenty of parking. read more

Let me start by saying: I went here out of convenience and it was for my wedding. The first place I booked for these services was my usual Salon in Norwich, Unfortunately, they did not have the capacity to accommodate my bridal party at the same time, it would have been a one at a time option only as nails are not one of their primary services. So I booked services here. My appointment was for a pedi (first one ever) and a full pink/white set of gels. The pedi was ok, I really have nothing to compare it to. The only thing I can say is I had a bruise on my leg the next day where the pedicurist had massaged my calf. It freaked me out since I got this done because I was getting married the next day. I've had gel sets before, so I have a good idea how they are typically done. The full set cost $90- which I think is absurd. I know it's Glastonbury but the most I have ever had to pay for these is $65. The spa in Mohegan sun and Foxwoods is cheaper than here and they are known for being expensive. There were a few odd things I noticed during the process. The tech for my full set did not use fake tips in the process at all. I have always (no matter where I have gone) had tips applied prior to the gel. The tech also failed to sculpt under each nail so I had globs of dried gel under my nails that felt unnatural. Three days after having the gel set applied, a few of the tips cracked and broke off. This has never happened any other time I have had a gel set. I was completely disappointed with the quality. For the prices charged, this place is overpriced for what you get. I would not recommend or go back for any service. The staff overall was pleasant, but this place isn't for me. read more

So upon walking into this nail salon I was hit in the face with the worst smell of nail polish remover and absolutely no air circulation. . It was busy and hot and smelly. I have never been in a nail salon where you are allowed to eat a large bowl of curried tofu?? (Felt sick watching this woman next to me inhale this ). Not to mention the smell. And not one of the nail techs said a word. The pedicure was 25 minutes long. 10 minutes of that was soaking. He didn't clean under my toes. And removing callouses was not happening either.
