Made an appt., the place was packed when i arrived. I waited then left. Lady came outside and called me back. I said, hey, when I asked for the appt., I asked if you were busy and I said i was flexible and could come another day. She apologized and assured me I could get seated right away. Sure, seared, soaking in foot bath for over 30 min. I endured it, its a good basic pedi, but I dont know why it was $60 when I asked for a basic pedi and gel change. There is a language barrier, too. First time visiting. Not sure they get many men in because they all looked surprised to see me. The regular pedicure $32 was what I wanted. I went with my wife to see if the treatment was any different. Everything was the same. They were good at offering additional services and letting you know the price. I had Jenny. She did a great job. Would recommend her. Very clean inside and smelled nice. Only the price difference in paying between cash or credit caught is off guard. Was in Manchester for business and needed a mani bad. The reviews for this place were good so I figured I'd try them out. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Salon was clean & decorated nicely. Got a standard manicure it was $15 - not overpriced. The guy who did my nails spent a lot of time buffing and cleaning up my cuticles which was nice. Sometimes when you get a standard mani places try to get you out the door quick. This was not the case for this place. All in all I had a good experience! read more

My 11 year old wished for her nails to be done as a birthday gift. So after yelping a lot, I decided to go with Happy nails. She wanted long nails and I am not sure what they are so the staff had me explain different types and options but due to the language issue few things weren't very clear but once agreed on the selection, it went smooth. They took time and care to do them nice and well. I wasn't expecting it to be that pricey but with tips it came out to to be around 72$ - a little on the expensive side though for me . This is the second time I've come to happy nails & spa (I came about a year ago while I was still enrolled in school) and I remembered my nails looking amazing after the nail technician was finished. I came up to visit school for the weekend and needed to get my nails done so though I should come back here. I got powder French ombré done and it didn't come out the way I wanted them to unfortunately - but it is my fault because I didn't tell them that I was not happy with the final product. I saw ombré nails on the internet but I assume they are harder to do but my nails kind of look like clouds or snowflakes. I am giving this location 4 stars because the employees are super nice and very helpful. They cared a lot about what I had in mind for my nails - my nail technician spoke to other nail technicians to try to figure out the best base color for me and I appreciated the conversation we had. The price is a little steep for me, the powder cost $45 and $55 for French or two colors and I'm a little disappointed since I showed them a photo of what I wanted and my nails didn't come out like that but I am sure if I said something, they would have tried to fix them. I would surely return here because regardless of design, my nails are even and clean and everyone is extremely nice! read more

Randomly went to happy nails to get my tips removed. I was disappointed by the methods my tech took to take off the tips. Which was using a metro card and then pulling off. The follow up manicure was no better. I had a nice jacket on and my tech spilled the soap scrub on my jacket. I tried Happy Nails twice because of the great reviews and all the extras they provide. I do agree, the paraffin dip, massage, and extra little things they do are nice. The regular pedicure ($30) comes with hot stone massage, shoulder massage, and small callous removal. The regular manicure came with a parrafin dip and a very nice massage. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't find this salon that clean. Their tools were kept Ina drawer and not sterilized or in a cleaning solution. If you're removing skin tissue from my feet/hands I would like a sterilized instrument especially since I have experienced them taking off too much callous and drawing blood. I can only imagine the cross contamination that happens with these instruments. The biggest disapointment was that they rushed me out the door both times and my nails were not dry. The first time I blamed it on not getting the fast dry top coat so the second time I tried it and they still rushed me out the door and my nails got all messed up. I'm completely fine with waiting longer and having dry nails. So in conclusion, even though the extras are nice I believe I'll be finding a salon that is a little bit cleaner and who gives me enough time to dry my nails completely. If these two things hadn't been a problem, Happy Nails would be an ideal salon. read more

Stumbled upon Happy Nails when trying to get in a quick manicure before getting my son from school. I've been twice since then. My dip powder manicure lasts 3 weeks with no chips what so ever. They have a ton of colors to choose from. My tech had great attention to detail when doing my manicure (I wish I could remember her name). I went on a weekday but I would definitely suggest an appointment on a weekend. It was a little more expensive than the last place I was going to, $47, but it's worth it for the quality. I arrived around 4pm and they were very busy but I lucked out and didn't have to wait at all despite not having an appointment. I got a regular $30 pedicure done and paid an extra $10 for callous treatment. They have a variety of spa pedicures which include hot stones, reflexology, and more. Even though they were so busy and a bunch of people were waiting after I arrived, I never felt like they were rushing through people to get to the next. This was by far the best pedicure I've ever received. All of the technicians wear masks and gloves and they were cleaning all of the tubs after each use. The salon also did not smell at all like some other salons I've been to in the past. They're very clean! I'm sorry, please forgive me. I promise to never go to another's nail salon other than this one. The picture with this review is the gel manicure I got from happy nails. I went with a nude color because I was attending a wedding and hadn't decided my outfit yet. My girlfriend and I made appointments, even though we are a few minutes late they still took us. They did a fabulous job, back rubs and hand scrub to wash the hands with was great. I was super happy with the results. Fast forward three weeks, and I went to another salon to get it removed and get a new manicure done. Their removal is fine, it was the new manicure that was horrible. I wish I hadn't gone to a new salon, I should've just gone back to happy nails. They did a great job the first time, I went to a different place out of convenience at the time, but I wish I hadn't. Happy nails is now my go to salon. I wish prices were a little more inexpensive, but the service is very good. Never again! The atmosphere was not welcoming at all and I felt rushed. I should have walked out then but I gave it a chance. I wanted a full set and pedicure. So my feet are in the water she had already gotten to my cuticles and she asks "Do you want to pay an extra $10 for heel scrub Callus removal" I was in shock. $30 Pedicure usually INCLUDE callus removal. And if not let me know before I put my feet in the water don't up sell. I was pissed so I said you know what I'm not going to do my full set here. Just add the callus removal. Not that I couldn't afford it but it was the principal . I rather give my full set money to someone who appreciates it. So my pedi ended up being $47 and I was not giving them a dollar more. Great customer service! They even put my husbands jacket on for him...they were so polite and funny! We both got pedicures mines was$30 and my husbands was $40 because he needed the callus remover! When this nail salon opened I was excited and nervous at the same time. This is close to where I live and would be super-convenient. However businesses on Main Street are not always shall we say...pretty. There's another nail place down the street that has been there a few years but I've been afraid to go near it. If there's anything I know--its pedicures. I usually get one every 2 to 3 weeks. I don't cut or color my hair, I don't really wear make up or fancy clothing--this is the one thing I do.I gave Happy Nails a chance on a Sunday afternoon and they hooked me. I was sort of hesitant to write this because I don't want to give away my secret, but I also want them to be around for a long time-so here we go. First of all the place inside is very nice-its freshly painted with very nice details--I wasn't really expecting that. During my first visit I was the only client and thus I was able to listen to the relaxing music they had playing. The pedicure was pretty standard but they did put parafin wax on my heels, and I noticed the nice scents from the creams lasted longer on my legs than usual. I went a second time and brought my sister who doesn't get pedicures often and she had a good experience too--the owner worked on her and was very nice despite my sister's hesitations (and super short nails). It was a Saturday so there was a little wait but the owner went out of her way to shuffle people to get us in. read more

TL;DR - Came here for a chin wax on coarse, curly hair. The service was meticulous and thorough and the results outstanding. The bedside manner was a bit lacking, but reasonable. I came here for my first chin wax in ages. I'm going to be frank and a little TMI here ladies so bear with me. I'm a hairy woman (PCOS suspected). And as you can probably tell from my profile picture, I've got thick, dark, coarse curly hair. So putting off the chin wax for years (been alternating shaving and depilatories) was not a good mix for me. The old wives' tales seemed to ring true. It seemed to just be getting worse so I decided enough was enough. I was sick of the hair drama. So while we were living down on the south side of Manchester within walking distance of Main St., I decided to give Happy Nails a try. I was a little uncomfortable when I first walked in and I can't say that the ladies in the salon reassured me. If they had this would be a five star review. In any case, the lady who serviced me (I've got to start getting names!) did an excellent job and was well mannered and treated with me respect. Since I hadn't had a wax in ages and my hair may have been too short in places, my hair seemed to be extra resistant to the wax. But my esthetician was patient going in with the wax, but not overdoing it and then switching to tweezers for the large number of shorter or broken off hairs. One other discomforting thing about the experience was the fact that a second esthetician kept coming in to discuss my progress (with my esthetician) while I was laying there. Sometimes she would talk to me and comfort me ("I know it's painful. We're sorry.") sometimes not. At one point, they were growing weary and so the second esthetician assisted in the post-wax plucking at the same time as the first. This was truly horrifying so I had to put a stop to it. Plucks coming from all directions! The "bedside manner" is what took away from this job, but overall, compared to experiences I've had with bedside manner since then I would say they actually did a pretty stand up job. They didn't bother to remind me that I'm freakishly hairy or make me feel bad about myself, which I've experienced. Most importantly, my esthetician's technique was solid and she was meticulous getting my chin completely smooth and so I was very pleased with the results. I recommend this place. read more
