Does anyone know where Anna is? The lady that was there did my eyebrows but didnt do a very good job. One of my eyebrows is thinner then the other. She left a lot of wax residue on my brows and face. Maybe i'm not use to her but it wasn't ok. She told me Anna left on vacation and when I ask when she would be back she said in a few months, which seems weird bc Anna would have said something. I have been a client of Vanessa's for almost 10 years. In that time, she has consistently given me the best cut, color and blow dry that I have ever had. I trust her instinct and never need to give her direction; she just knows what to do. She tailors my cut to suit my face and hair type and my color always looks so natural. Despite a large celebrity clientele, the atmosphere in the salon is very friendly. All the stylists make me feel welcome, almost like family. I just got my haircut today by Karen at am SO incredibly happy! She did an amazing job. Most of my adult life I've gotten my haircut by Christophe himself (for those of you who know him he's in BH) but now that I live in the area and now that I just can't bring myself to spend hundreds on a good haircut, Karen at Ceci Salon will be my hairs forever new spot, and for only 80 dollars. The salon was just bought by Karen and her family and they have worked there for the past 10+years. I guess the guy who owned it before is no longer there (Jose somebody). After my cut I ran over across the street to Aroma cafe for some nice breakfast. That part of Tujunga is a cute, trendy (but down to earth) little street that somehow I never realized before existed. read more

Tim repaired my hair that was ruined by another salon ( 4 - 5 different shades of orange instead of a blond shade)That owner told me that it would take up to 7 visits) Tim fixed it in one day. People I know want to know his formula. I let him pick a color that was age appropriate and it really matches my skin tone. He cuts hair. By appointment. Also, the atmosphere is relaxing. I can't say enough about Tim's professionalism, skills and how fun it is for me to see him. I had one hairdresser that thought I was her therapist. I was not there to hear about her problems. I finally left because I always left with a different color. I have always had competent hairdressers. But, Tim at Ceci's on Forman Ave. in Toluca Lake stands above the rest. I've been coming to this salon for about 7-8 years now before it was named Ceci. But my girl Vanessa has been doing my hair the whole time. She is the best at cutting and blow drying my curly/wavy, thick, very long hair. She's good at layering so that I can wear my hair blown out and in it's naturally curly state. It takes her no more than an 1-1.5 hours MAX from start to finish! She's very friendly listens to your needs and then makes suggestions. She always does her best to squeeze me in last minute too! Carla at the reception desk is friendly and accommodating with coordinating times that work. Everyone that works there is friendly and down to earth and the prices are really reasonable. I've referred a few people that are now regulars with Vanessa. I highly recommend her especially if you have hair like mine mentioned above. read more

I am thrilled to be able to review publicly MY stylist, Ben! OMG! He is genius! When I came to Ben, my hair was so compromised and ruined. The color was NOT what I wanted. I have dark hair naturally and I have been blonde most of my life. Every stylist I went to pulled copper and orange...BEN knows EXACTLY what to do in three specific areas: 1) amazing cut / style 2) Color corrector and genius colorist 3) Educates while recommends, products (that can be bought there), that will COMPLETELY, and I mean COMPLETELY restore your hair. He even gave me a lesson on exactly HOW to use the shampoo and mask so that I don't waste and overuse the products unnecessarily, which I was! Now, if that is not enough, his personality is crazy good. I laugh most of the time I am with him! Very quaint and trendy. I am sure I was the unlucky client that came out with a not so good experience. I just have to say that if you have two hair dressers that are not sure how to cut or color your hair, and were frankly doubting about it out loud, they should have sent me away. I was very nice and informed them that it was totally okay, I don't need to have this style done, but they hesitantly said they could do it and I should stay. I was scheduled with one specific hair dresser, and she said she couldn't finish my hair because she had a regular client scheduled, and so she worked on my hair along with the other hair dresser until her client came, and I did not see her again. The hair dresser working with me did not have the hair dye that she needed to complete my style. She ended borrowing a dye from yet another hair dresser a little bit at a time because she was ashamed to ask for it all, and I kept hearing, her tell the other hairdresser, "Thank you, I will pay you back for the dye." My hair was partially bleached and unfortunately the bleach stained my dress. I still was greatly appreciative, and handed a nice tip. Again, this was my experience--one experience, but the reason why I am writing this review is to note that if two hair dressers are in doubt, get up and leave. I also felt that there was a definite pecking order that was clearly shown. To the hair dresser that did my hair, "Do not feel intimidated :)" By the way, I ended up in SuperCuts, and cut off all my hair. The dye did not hold, and did not look so nice. read more

I was coming in to LA from out of state for a family wedding and wanted to get an updo to show off my rainbow hair (hidden unless my hair is up). Found Ceci Salon and booked an appointment. On the day I was slightly nervous not knowing the salon but was greeted warmly, explained to Mina what I wanted done, she made some great suggestions and we went for it. My hair looked amazing, showed off the rainbow perfectly and it lasted all day and all night! Everyone in the salon were very friendly with each other and the clients, seems like one big family. Diane is a magician with her scissors. My cuts are perfect and easy to style. It also grows out well allowing me to squeeze in a few more weeks between cuts. I'm notoriously bad for scheduling appts.
