Hello, my name is Dionely and I wanted to write a review in regards to being a first time client at Krimson hair salon I got my hair done with the hairdresser by the name lauren. I specifically told her that I wanted to brighten my hair because I already have dark hair and I wanted bright highlights so that the grays are covered. I have to say that I am so dissatisfied with the outcome of my hair. I paid a total of $600 for my hair And to top it off being a first time client not evening getting a discount and to top it off the hair dresser being 45 minutes late which I am a very understanding person. I came here asking for a medium warm chestnut-auburn brown with copper undertones--natural-looking, not too red or orange. I went to Paul, and unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the result. My hair was left bright orange and looked nothing like the color I requested. Paul told me to come back in 2-3 weeks to have my hair toned, but after speaking with other professionals, I learned that my hair could have been toned that same day. What was also disappointing was that other stylists in the salon saw how my hair turned out, and remained silent about the horrible result. His service was overpriced considering the result. Afterward, I texted Paul asking whether my hair was supposed to be that orange or whether it would eventually become the color I had requested, and I never received a response. I ultimately had to get my hair corrected elsewhere. The other professionals I went to said that Paul had lightened and colored my hair unevenly and had simply done a poor job. They even questioned whether he knew how to properly achieve the color I had asked for, especially on hair of my length, given how uneven, botched, and far from my reference photos the final result was. He should have been upfront that he could not achieve the hair color I wanted. They also said simply toning it would not have achieved the color I originally requested. My options were to spend even more money correcting and redoing the highlights, lightening, and color or even out my hair and go brown to cover it. I chose the latter. I stayed silent about this for months, but ultimately felt it was important to share my experience. Unfortunately, I would not return or recommend Paul. read more

Colleen at Krimson was recommended to me as my barber never seemed to be free. I'm lucky - Krimson is a very nice, relaxed place. Upon seeing my hay-esque hair, she suggested I get a scissor cut (which was not what my previous barber was doing) and because I don't know what I'm doing, either, it sounded good to me. A men's cut includes a good shampooing and scrubbing, and she asked a lot of questions through the whole time which I appreciated: she wants me to come back, and what to do! My hair (what I have of it) looks great and, miracle of the scissor cut, my natural curls were there leaving the shop! Also, unlike my other barber, appointments can be made online on their website. Considering nearly all the barber shops in town are Fade specific, if you have longer hair and are looking for this kind of cut, this is the place! read more

Who knew the worst haircut of my life would be in LA!? Norma ignored all my instructions and left me with a mess of a haircut. When I pointed out that she cut too much on the top and back, her reply was "it will be good in 4 months". I paid $95 for a butcher job, but in retrospect should have refused to pay. Gabby was an overall bad experience. Didn't listen to me, didn't cut my hair how I wanted(how could she if she cut me off mid my first sentence), layers looked awkward and the bangs I asked for were... laughable. I asked her to fix it and it still looked bad...cut my losses and went home to cut my own hair in the mirror to fix it. Waste of over $100 for a dry cut and then a wash/treatment after. Was given three different prices and wound up overpaying to look like Shirley temple. First was told 50 on the phone for a blowout. Then was told 65 by the "stylist" named rose. Then after she styled me for the good ship lollipop, she wanted to charge me 75. When I asked why she didn't tell me about the price increase (she said it was due to using the curling iron- which I never asked her to do) she rudely replied "because you didn't ask". How can I read her mind and know to ask about her increasing the price on a service that she is providing? Not transparent, might report to the better business beaureau. Avoid rose at all costs. She non stop talks about her messed up family and cannot for the life of her stop. read more

There's a place on Sunset where even their most advanced stylists charge less than $90 for a womens short haircut. I thought it was pricey. Krimson is open Mondays which was one of the reasons I booked here. The vibe is super cool in here. And I liked the sparkling water offering. A few hours after I got home I realized my neck was really sore and couldn't understand why. Then I remembered the horrible chairs they have for washing your hair. I recently did a hair modeling gig and they turned my bright blonde hair into essentially my dark blonde roots, while throwing some lovely lo-lights in that eventually turned red and weird. The girl who has been doing my hair for the last decade moved out of the city! - I walk my dogs past Krimson all the time so decided to take a shot in the dark and just book a random stylist there. I was placed with a stylist named Susie - cool beige blonde with no brassiness or yellow is not easy to do and its very time consuming, especially when you add a shadow root. Susie did an incredible job! The blending into my roots - the tone of the cool blonde and the cut of my layers were all expertly executed. It's not a cheap process but its well worth it to pay for quality. I will def be booking Susie again. read more

I love so many things about Krimson. I've been able to grow out my hair the longest it has been in years, because Amanda is able to give me bright highlights without damage to my hair. We went from brown to bright blond gradually and it looks great. I started with Amanda when the salons opened after the shut down, because the salon was noticeably vigilant about masking and keeping clients and staff safe. Love that. He understands how to cut and shape my hair while maximizing volume and keeping it flattering to my face. He will also tell it to me straight when I want something my hair can't handle right now. Hi. I went to Krimson a couple of weeks ago. Good reviews etc. My regular stylist was on vacation. Just wanted a trim, some layers on the ends. This stylist (I wont name her cause she was lovely and needs to make a living). Everyone was lovely. She flipped up my ends and it looked great! Paid $110+tip for this. I normally straighten my wavy hair but I hadn't straightened it til today. And this is what it looks like. I am so confused as it looked great on the day. I've always had haircuts that look good no matter how it is cut - it's always about the cut! Straighten, flipped, wavy. But this is on a whole other level! I have great hair, very easy to cut and style so this is very, very surprising. This particular stylist told me that each stylist works independently, they rent chairs so the stylists do not represent the salon name. I would like to go back and get it fixed for free but I am very scared it will just be worse. My son had his hair done by another stylist and his seems to be working out. So my recommendation is to only go here if you have a very personal recommendation. read more
