Great service! Super comfortable, inviting atmosphere! Yummy food and drinks! All at very reasonable prices. I had a late lunch with my daughter here. She had a bottle of the French pomegranate lemonade, a cup of the butternut squash soup, and the breakfast bowl. I had a cup of americano coffee with oat milk and a quinoa tabouleh. The soup could use some more salt, but other than that, everything was delicious. I love that they have so many healthy options on the menu. The coffee was some of the best I've ever had! They also have a great selection of ice cream, pastries and wines. Our waiter was super attentive, even though they were quite busy. The rest of the staff was very helpful with delivering our food, cleaning our table, and bringing us salt, pepper and hot sauce. The seats are very comfortable, soft velvet seats. This quaint little coffee place gives off some of the best vibes. With with it's unique décor and good food, creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. My coworker and I stopped in for lunch on Wednesday at around 12:30pm. It was not packed yet but by the time we were ready to leave it was a full house. Garbage. We came, waited 45 minutes for a waiter. Our empanada appetizer was tiny, three of us had to split 2 tiny empanadas. My French toast was dry and bland. Had three fuzzes in it too. My friend's food was garbage, heavy, made her super sick and when we asked to swap it out for something else, were told NO because nothing was wrong with it. I gave my friend my leftovers since they were planning to charge us for a new plate and honestly was very turned off by the service we received. Food could have been way better and just was NOT. Walked past this little gem in South Miami and decided to stop in just to check it out after my work out. To my demise I really wanted to try one of each. Everything looked so enticing. I walked out with THREE pastries all for me. SMH 1. I had a coconut, passion fruit and banana pastry - that was beautiful delicate and well balanced. 2. Hazelnut pastry that was light flavorful and full of quality ingredients 3. Last one I can't remember because I ate it up so fast. I am a desert freak and ex pastry chef so I can tell you that the experience was practically magical. The mix of textures and flavors was like an orchestra playing on my taste buds. Full disclosure: I go here every Saturday because it is right next to the Team Footworks store where we meet to train, so it's very conveniently located but that doesn't mean it isn't good. I'm trying to be careful with my food, so I'm mostly eating their meals, but their strong suit is their bakery stuff. Try the croissants, the pastries are heavenly and any recently baked is guaranteed enjoyment. The breakfast food is good, but there's still a but to go to call it excellent. The service, on the other hand, is excellent. Almost family-like (well, I like my relatives, I can't make that assumption about you). Out of everything I've tried so far (again: outside the bakery items), my absolute favorite is the Asian short rib sandwich, closely followed by the croque madame. You'll notice both of them feature the sourdough bread as a main ingredient. I found the eggs Benedict croissants to be a bit underwhelming in their original form, but they improve greatly with the salmon replacement. Still, they take a backseat to stuff like huevos ibericos (warning: remember that ibérico ham, chorizo and manchego cheese are all salty ingredients) or the shakshouka, which is a tomato-based plate where you surely will need an extra order of bread and go to town with it. Their coffee is not the best, I always order a latte with an extra shot, but it's not bad. Overall, though I like this place very much and enjoy their food, if I were to be honest I'd mainly recommend the pastries and the bakery items, the Asian Rib sandwich and the croque madam. I may update my review as I go through the rest of the menu (we go every week, so I'll probably try everything at least once), but for now, everything else, while good, is still a few steps away from the best around. By the way: I did mention that the servers and the staff are all lovely, but I forgot to say that, since I've been coming, they all have complied perfectly with all the covid health recommendations: they have their masks on all the time, wear gloves, sanitize between customers, enforce the distancing and are polite about it too. read more

I don't know where to begin. Today was my third time giving this place a try and of course, I should have gone with my gut. My first experience was during breakfast.. my conclusion: Don't order the pancakes, unless you like them as flat as a sheet of paper. Second experience: Party of 3, we sat inside and after 10 minutes, I notice I was getting hot. I'm thinking something must be wrong. Eventually, the waiter says "oh yeah, our AC is broken and it's been broken for a week." I don't know how you don't warn your patrons before you sit them inside. It was a hot sauna, I would have rather sat outside. Third experience today: I call while I'm on the way to make an order for pick up and I called 6 times (literally) and no one answers. Anyway, I drive there- pay for parking- go inside and go to the cashier to make my to go order of arepas. She informs me the kitchen closed at 3 pm (it's 4:30 pm) but the bakery is open. So, I say okay let me order two smoothies and she tells me "oh, our blenders are broken." So, I say okay thank you! And walk out. And that will be the last time I walk into Cecile's. Cecile's is the best breakfast spot My favorite thing to order is the "Eggs Benedict Croissant"! I get this with a side of Cecile potatoes ..oh my god the yummiest invention ever! If you haven't tried the Cecile potatoes you are 100% missing out and NEED to try them. Aside from the yummy food this place is so aesthetically pleasing. It is so pretty inside and out. You have the option to sit both outdoors and indoors. Outdoors you are right across from Sunset mall and they have pretty string lights and a few plants. Very cute! The food was so incredible that I cannot give them less than 4 stars. But, I do understand why they have 3 star and under reviews. I'll start with the cons. Service is non-existent. Beyond slow. The wait staff doesn't have much personality, and it seems they do not want to be there. Inside was a bit musty. It got better though. They seem to have enough waiters, it just seems they are a bit incompetent. Ignoring/completely forgetting about their tables. We saw a party of two get up and leave after being completely ignored. There were times where we weren't acknowledged. Surprisingly, after ordering we didn't have to wait that long for our food. We did however receive our drinks with our food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I ordered the Croissant Benedict and my date ordered the Prosciuto Sandwich. She raved about her sandwich. My benedict was delicious. Although they were heavy on the pour, the hollandaise was light and flavorful. The croissant was the star. One of the best I've had. We also ordered the bread pudding and the canelés. The bread pudding was good. They used a croissant which made it unique. The texture was a little more firm than what I am accustomed to. They also didn't pour any sauce over it. It had a few nuts in it too I believe. Our favorite item of the day was the canelé. The canelé is a small French pastry flavored with rum and vanilla that has a soft and tender custard center and a dark, thick caramelized crust. It was nice and moist in the inside. You could taste the freshness in every bite. Although I believe they need to improve their service and incorporate some much needed training for their staff, the food is excellent, and will be the reason for my return. read more

We came here Saturday morning to give this fine new French style bakery on Sunset Avenue a try. The indoor seating was comfortable and clean looking, and the baked goods looked delicious. I ordered a couple of lates which were pour oh so beautifully for us, then had an eggs benedict on a croissant, mmmmm! Nicole had a healthy fruit parfait in a light yogurt. For desert I had an almond croissant, which was a little dense on the almond paste for my liking. The plain croissant was super light and delish! Could have had ten of them. Super tasty. My new absolute most favorest place to have brunch! In fact, it soooooo good that I Always forget to take pictures of our dishes. But I took a picture of half of the almond croissant which was heavenly. This time I had the huevos rotos with jamón ibérico, matchstick french fries and two slices of sourdough bread. Beautiful and quaint French Cafe in South Miami. We were looking for a coffee shop in the area and found Cecile. They open early and offer baked goods , breakfast and lunch. We were greeted by multiple staff members, they all seem very happy to be working there and got along with each other. This service made for a very nice vibe. We ordered a croissant, two Americanos, scrambled eggs and eggs Benedict. The coffee was a bit pricey but fantastic . The eggs Benedict were our favorite , delicious sauce , eggs poached to perfection on top of a fluffy croissant and accompanied by a house salad. Overall a very nice Cafe for breakfast. I was very upset to see a person with a dog in this tiny restaurant. A young couple brought in a small hairy dog while waiting for their take out food. They were standing right by the food prep area. I complained and manager told me I was a service dog. Someone needs to educate the owner the difference between comfort animal and a service dog. Parking is a street style parking. **TIP: If you go to 57th street, behind the restaurant, there is more open parking, but the parking lot has only 1 designated spot for Cecile's. I'd recommend the side street parking on 57th that can be paid by app. Customer Service - Pro: I think you all know that I am a big fan of service. At 8 a.m. we walked in and were promptly greeted and seated. The server was attentive, polite and said things like, "My Pleasure!" After we ordered, the chef came out, shaking hands of patrons and asking everyone if he could make or fix anything. This was a great touch. Mild Con: After 8:15 as more and more patrons arrived, the staff of 2+1 chef became overwhelmed and a lady who walked in wasn't noticed for several minutes. Also, wait service was reduced and we waited around 10 minutes before the waiter could stop back by. FOOD My Order - I had two eggs over easy, with Cecile's Potatoes (these aren't tater tots but little tot sized balls of grilled mashed potatoes with bits of amazing cheese. SO good with eggs) and toast with house Jam. (Pictures Included) Friends Order - Salmon and Roccata Cheese Toast & Avo-Mash Toast with Poached Egg.
