Please read the other review of a bride that shared her experience regarding COVID-19 cancellations. This business may be great when things are running smoothly but in times of difficulty, their customer service is lacking and they can't be trusted to do the right thing. We originally booked with Cedar & Pine for our wedding in June 2020. Due to the pandemic, we were forced to postpone our wedding to September 2020. Cedar & Pine was able to our accommodate our new date so all was good. Unfortunately, receptions are still not allowed so we made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding. Cedar & Pine will not refund our deposit even though no services have been rendered and we have not cost them anything in terms of opportunity (keep in mind, receptions and events are still illegal). They insisted that the deposit was not refundable but they would transfer the deposit to a new order of equal or greater value. I'm a reasonable person and willing to be flexible with vendors, especially since so many have taken a financial hit due to the pandemic. I would take the transfer less the minimum order requirement given that the world is so uncertain right now and we're not sure what our future wedding will look like but they refused and were inflexible. Their terse communication and lack of flexibility has turned me off from doing business with them entirely. Times of difficulty are an opportunity for businesses to shine. We have received much more reasonable and understanding responses from our other vendors. Cedar & Pine was a stark contrast both in attitude and lack of flexibility. In these uncertain times, I do not recommend. Updated: Hi Martha, you did not try to give us alternatives. We were willing to work with you and you were rude and inflexible over email. i wanted my wedding to be like a family reunion, very casual and laid back, and fun! we decided to rent lawn games for our wedding and went with mega jenga, giant connect 4, and corn hole. they had several different packages to choose from and their prices were very reasonable. since we didn't rent enough items from them, we didn't meet the minimum requirement for delivery, so two days before our wedding we drove up to pick up our items. martha was excellent with communication and sent me detailed instructions for picking up our items and dropping them off afterwards. it was pretty easy to do and only about 30 minutes from la jolla. our games were a success and a bit hit at our wedding, especially with the kids! everything was great quality and i was very happy with my experience here. read more

If we could give Cedar & Pine negative stars we would. My fiancé and I booked the life size games around 3/4/2020 for our 4/4/2020 wedding at the Intercontinental Hotel. On 3/16/2020, due to COVID-19 and after the county mandated shut down of 50+ more gatherings, we unfortunately had to make a devastating decision to cancel our dream wedding that we've spent the past 2 years planning! We are unsure of what the future holds, and reached out to all our vendors for a refund, not a credit. EVERYONE graciously refunded our deposits and/or paid in full monies EXCEPT Cedar & Pine, irrespective of any contractual obligations due to this "unprecedented situation". We pleaded with Martha (owner) several times and she stood by her words "per your contract, we have a very firm no-refunds policy for any and all payments (I've pasted that below for reference) and in light of the current situation we cannot make exceptions to that." Initially, Martha even stated: when rebooking, please send us 3 dates! So not only are you not refunding our money for a service you cannot provide due to a county-wide shut down, you are telling us to rework our future wedding dates according to your rental schedule. Where is the compassion?!!? Really?!? My wedding was cancelled due to the shutdown! Martha also rebutted with this statement "we've spoken to many vendors around San Diego and they all are rescheduling all of their events" As if she didn't believe we were really getting refunded. We gladly gave her a few vendors to reach out to but apparently she's too busy to do that or was just being snooty. How can someone be so unwilling to work with a bride and groom during a time like this and make a profit when they didn't perform the service or lose any sales! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! If you need to rent quality products for your wedding and/or events go to "More Rentals" in Sorrento Valley! The owners are much more service oriented, they actually go out of their way for customers, call them back as opposed to only answering on emails, AND they recognize our soldiers/veterans offering military discounts! read more
