It's unfortunate I have to write this review. I've used SD linens a total of 3 times now, and my third time was my last ever. I booked them for my wedding in 2014, and they did a great job. I booked them for an Easter party this year, smooth sailing. I booked them again for another party this year, complete shit. They are so "strict" with making sure you have 3 hour open time window, or else they charge you more if you want it at an exact time. Anyway, we had a drop off time for our tables/chairs/linens between 9-12. My party started at 1pm. 1230 rolls around, I'm starting to panic and call the number. It's only their weekday office line they provide. 1245 comes, I email and try to call again. Nothing. 1255, some guys cruise up in a truck to deliver my order. They are moving at a snails pace to get my tables and chairs set up. Guest start slowly arriving. How freaking embarrassing. Nobody once called me to say they were running late or give me any updates. I expressed how frustrated I was with their service a few days later. Nobody reached back out, no apology, nothing. That's the last time I'll ever use San Diego linens or REFER anybody to them, considering how many ppl I referred from my wedding. Be careful if you book with them y'all. read more

I was referred to SD Linens by my wedding planner, Mary of Elements of Style. David from SD Linens met us at my venue, my parents backyard. We explained we needed to fit 100 people, we needed tables and chairs and lighting. David had all kinds of great ideas, including swags on either side of the area where I was to be married, a fabric backdrop, market lights, and a GOBO light. The GOBO light would be set up to shine a saying, from a lens we designed , into the pool. I designed the lens to say," Scott Lori 3-3-2018". On the Thursday and Friday prior to the wedding, they came and set up the tables, and delivered the chairs, and set up the lights and draping. David was flexible, and due to possible rain we had to rent tents, and he put the lights up in the tents!! They did a great job! Make sure David comes to your venue, he has a really good eye for decorating!! read more

I rented 25-30 linens for my wedding from SD Linens, and the whole process was awesome! I corresponded mostly with Vanessa, who responded very promptly to all my messages and answered any questions I had. I opted to save on the same-day delivery charges, and have them drop off the linens to me on Thursday and pick up the next Tuesday. Drop off and pick up went so smoothly, and the linens were packaged and labeled by size. SD Linens also had the best price for renting I could find anywhere. These guys saved me a lot of stress and hassle when there was already enough of that on my plate. 10/10 would recommend! read more

They just called us today and had to cancel our order because they didn't realize they are closed on December 1st when we're having the event due to special holiday hours. Fast and efficient. Our wedding planner uses SD Linens for many of her events, so we decided to use them for our chair covers. We were very specific in what we wanted - bright red satin covers that tied in the back. The staff was really easy to work with, and was able to get our planner samples of various chair and table covers. We ordered 100 red satin chair covers, paid our deposit, and picked up our covers at a local restaurant. We were able to return them a few days after our wedding at the same pick up location. We used San Diego linens for our wedding because it was one of the cheaper options out there. It was fine for what we paid, but just make sure you go over your order again and again with a fine toothed comb! From the very beginning, they got our wedding date wrong, then the amount of linens was wrong, and then it was difficult to contact them to remedy this because they were changing over their email (but didn't let us know). Overall you get what you pay for I guess. The linens were nice and were delivered on time, just be ready to pay close attention to all of the details of your order to make sure everything is correct. read more

San Diego Linens could not have been more attentive, nor done a better job for our wedding at the San Diego Rowing Club. We think we had the perfect wedding, which is more than we could hope for and a large part of that was the amazing set-up that San Diego Linens provided for us. Our wedding was a huge job as there was a lot of lighting to bring in, draping, then all the usual tables, chairs, etc. The result was breathtaking and magical and we had the most amazing time. We rented draping, chair covers, chair sashes, overlays, a sweetheart chair, sweetheart table swag, and market umbrellas (Yes! A lot!) for our wedding reception from San Diego Linens. They set up and took down everything. The set up was so beautiful. I walked into our reception venue and was amazed. Everything looked so nice! It was so easy to set up an appointment with them to talk about what we wanted for our reception. It was great talking to someone who knew so much about wedding decorations because I didn't even know what I wanted exactly. The prices were awesome too! We ended up not using the market umbrellas because they fell down with the wind, but it's okay because they didn't cost too much. I got tablecloths and uplights for my wedding through San Diego linens. The uplights looked amazing and were EXTREMELY well priced. The linens were perfect. I had actually bought napkins and they accidentally ended up at SD linens. They were super nice and offered to wash them for us to pick up. I would recommend to everyone. We were originally going to use this company for linens and drapery for our wedding. I met with them a couple times and the lady did not bring with her supplies that they were supposed to bring so that we could make decisions on colors/materials yet they were very pushy on getting me sign a contract and pay a deposit. It took them a long time to answer emails/calls. I went to one wedding they set up and their materials for drapery are very thin and cheap looking compared to other companies. What I love about this company is that they offer pretty much everything, so we didn't have to use multiple vendors for tables, chairs, linens, pipe & drape, etc. The set up was great - the quality of their products was great. The only downside is that they require a bit of patience. They are very slow on email and I'm not really good about returning phone calls, so that combination proved to be a little deadly, but thankfully we had started the process pretty early on. If we had waited until last minute I could see how it would have been very stressful. I hope that soon they will hire people that are a little better with email and overall responsiveness, but if you can look past that they do a great job. read more

From start to finish, they were a pleasure to work with and made suggestions if I wasn't sure what I wanted. When I wanted changes made to my contract, they were more than happy to do so. They provided everything I needed, including two custom crystal tiers that stood on either side of the altar where we got married (gorgeous!). I was so happy to find San Diego Linens. I had free table covers/napkins from a family member but just needed chair covers. SD Linens had the best prices and they even waived the setup fee because I was at Marina Village, which is one of their preferred venues! I originally rented an arch for the ceremony space (which they were also going to deliver/set up for free!) but the week before the wedding the venue said they were providing one. SD Linens had no problem refunding the price and sent us a check a couple weeks after the wedding. So many other linen companies wanted to just drop off the chair covers. SD Linens set them up (all 200 of them!) for free, which gave my set-up team time to focus on making everything else perfect. I can't imagine how much time that would have sucked up. VERY happy with the friendly, responsive staff. They answered all my questions and always got back to me quickly if they missed my call. Just fantastic service. read more

I hosted an event and had to search prices on linens throughout San Diego to find the best one. No other company could beat SDL's prices! Okay maybe one did but they were way down south of SD, so paying the few extra cents to save gas money was well worth it. I couldn't have been more grateful to have worked with such a flexible company. Sorry a million times for having to revise my order a gazillion times, but they never complained or replied passive aggressively to my emailed requests. Arranging pickup and drop off to them was extremely easy. I personally didn't get the rentals myself, but I forwarded their instructions to my person and he didn't seem to have an issue. Save yourself some time, they may be reasonably priced, however, trying to get any support, or for that matter, any kind of interaction from them is nearly impossible. I have spent the last month+ trying to get things taken care of to get the linens, tables, chairs and pipe and drape for my wedding in October. Of the 60 or 70 times I have tried to call to speak to someone I have gotten an answer three times. The second time was to schedule a showing with their designer so we could go over our needs for our event. I was scheduled for April 3rd, at 6 p.m. I arrived approximately 10 minutes early and sat around until 6:45 p.m. No one called to tell me that the designer wasn't going to show. I double checked that I had confirmed my appointment, and decided to call them back again to find out what was going on. After another 10-15 calls over the course of a few days and at varying times of the day, I finally got through to someone who confirmed that both myself and the designer confirmed our appointment. I was told that they would have management call me back to discuss the issues. I has now been almost two weeks since phone call after my appointment. I have not received a call back from management, nor have I been able to reach anyone via phone or email. I have left 2 to 3 voice mails and received no callbacks. I am going to be taking my business to Platinum Event Rentals, and I'd suggest you do the same, and or look for another rental company in the area. read more

Once I needed more sashes of a particular style and they had delivered the number I ordered, but there was a communication mix up with my client and I needed several more the day before the wedding! I could only find the extra sashes I would need in Los Angeles. I called San Diego Linens and they only had the linens in the style left in their inventory. Elisa, said no problem and stayed up half the night making them out of her linens! They have delivered chair covers the same day to me and they do their very best in a most competitive, hectic, exhausting, creative, labor intensive business. I wish I had read reviews on SD Linens before I booked them. I booked them because of their good pricing, but it wasn't worth all the stress. After the deposit was made, I had a lot of issues making any changes. I had to ask for updated invoices numerous times before I received them. I even had to go back to the office to make sure the invoicing and order was correct. My reception venue requested the table linens a few days before the wedding. So SD Linens was supposed to have them ready for pick up but they were two days late! I called my contact many times and she ensured me they would be ready for pick up. Once I got there, the linens were not there and not available until the next day! Imagine running around the day before your wedding picking up linens when they should have been done in advanced. Then, on the day of the wedding, they were late! My florist actually had to track them down before they arrived at the reception to decorate. When I entered the venue, even though I had discussed with them in great detail on how I wanted the draping, it was all wrong! I had sent them pictures and dimensions of the wall. They even ensured me they were very familiar with my reception venue so he knew exactly what needed to be draped. They were supposed to pipe and drape the entire back wall of the reception venue, but they only piped and draped about a quarter of the wall! I only wanted to pipe and drape to cover the dragons and they were fully exposed. DO NOT USE this company. It may seem they have good prices, but they add additional cost for "delivery" and "labor" so it really isn't that great of a deal. Plus, all the stress they added is really not worth it. read more

I have been working with San Diego Linens for the last 5 years through two separate catering companies that I have worked with and have had great results from them. Being in the catering business, I have worked with more than a handful of rental companies and know the differences. Usually when working with rental folks, you call in the order, they deliver at time of event in stacks, and it is up to you to set it up, have the event, then put it all back in stacks waiting for pick up. My experience with San Diego Linen has been as such. When our clients have ideas of decor or set up, SDL makes recommendations on feasibility, creativity, design, and aesthetics. They can provide consultation not available from other rental companies. SDL also goes above and beyond by assisting with set up and tear down and also has been known to provide emergency extras such as cake tables (when venue tables don't work), fluffing linens to give it that extra touch of class! I have worked with SDL to turn average venues and watched them treat the venue like a canvas to add a "WOW" factor. But when they started responding again they kept it up. I met with them at the reception location and they really helped me see the location in a better light than i had it and on the day of the wedding when i walked in the doorway, my jaws dropped as to how BEAUTIFUL it was. Adriana is the BEST! however i don't feel like the owners give her enough support. She is only one person that can only do so much. The owners are ALWAYS unavailable. Our wedding was about 6 months ago and their old employ Tasha did not send us our refund and our account got lost between the cracks and now 6 months later we still don't have our money. Adriana has done everything in her power to help us however "upper management" is never around. Head's up, do not pay your account ahead of time in-case of changes that need to be made its nearly impossible to get your refund back (it's also party of our policy with Tasha never told us) Thank goodness Tasha is no longer with the company. As other yelpers mention, it is hard to get a hold of them but as far as other customer service, they're great! And regarding pricing, I couldn't have been more pleased. Since they are always in coronado for weddings, they waived my delivery fee. They setup the pipe & drape exactly as requested and even helped to hang a chandelier I brought. David and Adriana are really nice and easy to work with. I'd recommend them for wedding rentals any day. read more

I was curious about their linens and wanted to see them in person but the website says "appointment only". Not sure how they expect us to make an appointment when they don't even pick up. This is a red flag so even if they finally decided to return my call I doubt I would want to do business with them.
