I have purchased many cakes from them in the past and have always been happy with them. I ordered a small round cake for my 2nd mom's 80th birthday and pre-paid $125. I was told it would be ready for pickup Saturday at 1:00 p.m. I received a call saying it wouldn't be ready until around 2:00, so I adjusted my plans and arrived then. It was obvious they were scrambling to finish the cake, and I ended up waiting past their closing time. The cake was nice, so I took it home and trusted that everything was fine. The next day, on my way to the birthday celebration, I went to take the cake to the car and the top and bottom were separated and slid to the side. I was devastated. This was supposed to be a very special part of her birthday celebration, and I couldn't even give her the cake. I contacted the bakery Sunday morning. When they reopened Tuesday, they called me after seeing the pictures I sent. I was told that I must have dropped the cake. I absolutely did not. I was also told that I had been instructed to refrigerate the cake, which I was never told that too. I understand that once a cake leaves the bakery, they cannot control what happens to it. However, I showed the pictures to experienced cake bakers, and they felt the way the cake had been rushed, prepared and decorated could have contributed to what happened. I know in my heart I didn't do anything wrong. What was most upsetting to me was how the situation was handled. I contacted the bakery in good faith because I was hoping they would make it right but they didn't care and accused me of the cakes outcome. I'm not trying to get a free cake, I just wanted to get what I paid my hard earned money for. Unfortunately its their word against mine.

The cake I received on my wedding day was not decorated as nicely as their design picture. It had half the decorations as pictured and what was there was very amateurish. I contacted them regarding the finished result and was told that they use a professional photographer for their design book. This professional photographer makes the cakes much better looking than they are in real life! Can you believe they said that? If they cannot produce the product as advertised and sold to the customer then it should not be available! It has been over a year and NO ONE from the cakery has responded! Terrible service! I was not expecting a refund only an apology and acknowledgement that they messed up.

I was a bit nervous as $50 seemed a little high but after picking it up and seeing how gorgeous it was in person I was already happy with my decision. It was perfectly soaked so that it wasn't dry whatsoever but also was able to stand up and not squish under the weight of the toppings.
