This cemetery is really clean and has lots of trees! The grass is green and lively with a big gazebo on the property as well.

Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services was recommended to me and my sister by the pastor at her church. When we arrived at the funeral home, we were met with such warmth and compassion. Steve, the funeral director, is very soft spoken and was very empathetic to our situation. Never having planned a funeral before, Steve walked us through each step and was extremely patient with us and all of our questions. He made us feel so comfortable. We felt like our mom was in really good hands and being treated with the respect she deserves. He mentioned how she had a warm blanket, a pillow, night light and music playing in the background. Even though my mom might not know the difference, it was just comforting to us to know that she was well taken care of. At the private family viewing, Steve and his wife Nanci set everything up so beautifully. We were actually surprised at how good they made our mom look, given the circumstances of her death. I was afraid I wouldn't recognize her, but I did. She looked beautiful and as much like herself as she possibly could. They really did a great job and are definitely perfectionists at what they do. Even though we had the actual funeral at a church two days after the viewing, Steve and Nanci took care of our flowers and brought them and the photos from the funeral home to the church. It was one less thing for us to worry about that day. They even offered to take and donate any flowers that we didn't want to take home. Because this is an emotional time for anyone going through it, it's nice to know that your loved ones are taken care of and that you feel cared for as well. I really love the fact that it is a small, family owned business. We really felt like we got the personal attention that we needed. Every time we called, we always got Steve or Nanci on the phone. Whenever we would pull up to the front door, Steve would come outside, greet us by name and help us with anything that we needed to carry in or out. I believe it's the little details like that that really make a difference. I felt like they treated us and our mom as though we were their family members. Thank you Steve and Nanci for taking such good care of us and our mom and for putting our minds at ease during this difficult time.

He helped me through all of the steps of planning the service, ordering the essentials, and reserving the chapel time. He was there for me every step of the way on this difficult journey. The chapel and service turned out to be beautiful and honored my loved one in a dignified and comforting manner. The woman in charge of arranging the entombment was difficult to work with. She was unprofessional, pushy, and tried to rush me through the process even though I asked her to slow down so I could ask questions and fully understand the process and paperwork. She needs more training or a different job. Finally, the St. Anthony Crypt where my loved one's final resting place was to be was dirty. Before the service I asked if it could be swept, dusted, and cleaned of dead bugs and cobwebs (all around and on the fountain with the statue of Mary). The morning of the service, I went to check and it had not been cleaned in any way. I returned with cleaning supplies and did it myself a couple of hours before the service. By the way, the fountain no longer operates so the least they could do is keep it clean.

Those months passed, and nothing happened. There was no headstone, no grass--just dirt and a lot of waiting. Throughout this process, my mom and I have been in contact with Jessica. We were given four different dates and timeframes for when the headstone would be installed. Each time, we were told it would only be "a few more weeks." We checked again in February--still nothing. We returned on May 17th and still nothing. I sent another email hoping for answers and never received a response. Today is December 15th, 2025. It has been over a year, and there is still no headstone and no update. Every visit breaks my heart all over again. This has been an incredibly painful experience during an already unbearable time, and I am deeply disappointed. I wish I had spared myself more heartbreak and laid my baby to rest somewhere else. Please spare yourself the added pain and consider carefully before placing your loved ones in the care of Mount Olivet. In my experience, there was a profound lack of compassion and understanding during an already unimaginable time of grief. What should have been handled with care and respect instead became another source of heartbreak.

It took the cemetary over NINE months to get my dad's small, simple memorial stone placed, and when it was finally set up, it was not aligned properly with my mom's headstone. It was set sloppily off to one side. Further, our mom's headstone lettering faded terribly after just a year, so that you can't even read most of the words on it now. When I brought this up to Tim, he gave me the name of a company that does headstone lettering. When I shared that we should not have to pay to have the lettering re-done after just a year, my emails were ignored. Further, the people at the cemetery do not respond to emails or calls in a timely manner. I usually have to call multiple times to get a response. My parents' memorial stones look terrible and I couldn't be more disappointed with this place.

However, my son's ex wife Joelle manipulated my son's oldest kids which are legally next of kin NOT to bury our son David on the day of the funeral burial despite the fact that we had already paid for the memorial service with Romero funeral home and to "St. Simeon Cemetery in Aurora, CO" - we used the credit cards to pay for everything which came out to be $13,000! Because we got stabbed in the backed by my son's ex wife and oldest grandchildren, and no fault of our own, we ended up owing the St. Simeon Catholic cemetary $2,420 for "opening and closing grave and vault" - This catholic cemetery, St. Simeon in Aurora was notified on 26 July 2023 by the legal next of kin, the two oldest kid of our son David that they are joining to burn/cremate my son instead! It is now 12 September and the Catholic St. Simeon cemetery in Aurora still owes us $4,569.13!!!!! Each time we call about the refund check, we are getting the same story "that the refund of $4,569.13 is being processed and we will receive a check" - we are being charged interest on the credit card and it seems this Catholic St. Simeon Cemetery in Aurora, Colorado is jerking us around and it is going on two month now and so far has not refunded the amounted they admitted they owe in the amount of $4569.13! If you plan on burying a loved one that this cemetery, make 100% sure that nobody in the family can call off the burial - otherwise you will be waiting for your refund from the Catholic St. Simeon Cemetery in Aurora forever!
