Wonderful and touching Memorial Day 2026-92nd Anniversary of Remembrance-a solemn ceremony honoring our fallen heroes, and sadly, too many! Welcome speech by Roderick Thomas, Cemetery Director and then the Presentation and Posting of Colors. The National Anthem, God Bless America, Amazing Grace and Postlude Music from the amazing Cornerstone Chorale and the VFW Band of Colorado. Many great Guest Speakers and Moment of Silence and dedication of Wreaths by Goldstar Families escorted by Young Marines & Civil Air Patrol (so impressive to see the dedication of youth participating in these ceremonies). Also had Military Rifle Salute, Taps, Benediction, Ringing of the Honor Bell, Closing Remarks and an impressive Flyover. Was so happy to see how many people came to the ceremony and visitors at the graves of our veterans that are no longer with us. We all must not forget that Freedom is not Free! read more

The ceremony we had for my grandparents was only 15 minutes and felt rushed. It was impersonal and not the level of service I would expect. I think people would rather wait a few extra weeks than be rushed and reminded that we need to hurry along so another ceremony could take place. I don't feel this place cared about the time and effort it takes for family to get there to only have 15 minutes to say goodbye. The person who ran our ceremony didn't even say their names. Grandpa served in the Air Force and should have received a certain level of respect and appreciation for serving the country. The grounds were beautiful and well cared. Give people more time. Do less services a day to let people take time to say goodbye. read more

The honor they gave my husband was beautiful. Ft. Logan treated us with caring, tender support from the beginning and through the ceremony. Such honor they give the veteran. They organized the service with the Air Force Honor guard, bugle, Honor Bell requested, and flag. Had time to greet attendees. The outdoor service was a beautiful peaceful way to say goodbye. His placement in the columns for cremation is beautiful. Overlooking the rolling hills of the serviceman buried there. Thank you Ft. Sometimes when my sighs of exasperation with the idiotic happenings around me become too frequent, I have a need to center myself. One way for that is visiting a cemetery, as weird as that sounds; and particularly a military cemetery. In these places it brings perspective. At about 200 acres, this is a site both beautiful and historic. There is a memorial pathway honoring all branches of the military that makes for a nice stroll, especially on a sunny day. With the precisely placed markers, the manicured grass, the flowers and memorials, the bagpipes sounding at the nearby service, there's no place like a military cemetery -- state or national -- to remind one of what matters and what does not. On this visit, as I processed everything within the context of my personal dramas, I met a man visiting his wife: 63 years of marriage, now visibly struggling with a future alone. That was his reality. Perspective back. Center regained. Mission accomplished. And to that man: I'm so sorry. She'll always be with you. read more

If I could leave negative stars, I would. I cannot believe it was not made apparent to my grandparents when they arranged to be buried here, that they would not allow more than six people at the graveside. My grandmother was very loved, and had extensive family who would have traveled far to be there... It definitely should've been communicated to her that only six people were allowed to be at the graveside. This is atrocious. My grandmother was married to my grandpa for 71 years. She lived with him for most of his service in the Airforce! My grandpa paid his dues as a veteran... The fact that this government facility FAILED to communicate to my grandparents that only SIX people could attend their graveside burials WHILE THEY WERE BOTH LIVING is absolutely NOT ok! read more

This beautiful, historic facility dates to 1887 and was used as an Army base until 1946. The National Cemetery was established in 1950. The facility is beautifully maintained with a terrain of rolling hills, lots of trees, two large lakes, and mountain views. A volunteer team provides a moving committal service. Took a leisurely walk with my date to this veterans cemetery close by him. It was a very nice cemetery. There's just something about cemeteries that's very calming and peaceful that I like. I just love looking at how old people were born, how old they were when they passed, and wonder about their life. It is a very nice cemetery and I'd love to walk through there again. read more

This is a beautiful cemetery. Military cemeteries are so nicely maintained. We had my father in law's funeral here and it was very well done and though they do give you time limits because of the volume of funerals done here, it is not done in a disrespectful way, but you do have to be mindful. There are services on Memorial Day and probably other holidays as well, but there are police directing traffic to help with the flow because it is a ZOO. I'd recommend coming the day before or day after a holiday to avoid the congestion. read more

It's a cemetery so going here is not something I would call enjoyable. I try and go regularly to visit a love one and although the visits are always hard there is some sort of peace knowing that this cemetery is so well maintained. I have never been out here and thought they could use a little maintenance actually it's quite the opposite. They have well placed trash cans, regularly scheduled flower removals, plastic vases available for everyone and water for said vases in the warmer months. It is always clean, grass cut regularly and the roads are maintained for visitors. Each visit brings an abundance of sadness which is somewhat eased by knowing that this place of rest is being taken care of so beautifully. read more

Sunday mornings are the best time to visit. Low traffic and no maintenance make for lovely, peaceful moments. I appreciate that they have flower vases and faucets close to each section. Beautiful views in every part of this cemetary. read more

A beautiful and well-kept cemetery. In keeping with the military style of cemeteries, there are impressive lined rows. In the section where they keep ashes, there are beautiful inscriptions. A place for reflection and appreciation of the natural environment and respect for the dead and their families who have served. Keep in mind that during official burials, there are ceremonies which include gunshot salutes. There are beautiful ponds and geese so know that you may see their droppings occasionally but it is a very beautiful place. There are a lot of beautiful large trees to appreciate along the roads. Please keep the noise to a minimum. Please observe the signs on the correct sides of the roads to park. My son and I had a nice reflective time reading inscriptions and doing a little walking around. It is a nice drive and an interesting one in an old part of the area. I recommend reading the history of the location on Wikipedia. read more

We had a funeral here in December. We were told up front that the ceremony would be short and that they did many ceremonies here, so we couldn't stay in the pavilion. The person who was our 'chaperone' was David, and he was great. He was compassionate to my mom, he talked to everyone in our party, and he gave us updates as things we were waiting. The service itself was nice and they didn't mind my taking pictures. They did a 21 gun salute, which we were not expecting. David presented my mom with the casings and told her what they represented. All in all, it was a nice service an we appreciated the way that they honored my stepfather on the last stage of his being. It was my first military funeral, and hopefully my last for a long, long time. The only thing I would change about Fort Logan is having better signage for directions. We went in a lot of circles to get where we needed to go. read more

My Dad's service their last summer was very nice and well done. I see complaints about being rushed and I'm not sure they are warranted. We were told up front that we had 30 minutes so we knew what to expect.. There are so many service members passing that is makes the scheduling very difficult. Also, most people want to do the service on a Saturday which complicates the situation even more. We had a church service prior to the military internment service so we were pretty exhausted at that point anyway. Keep in mind, at Fort Logan, the Honor Guard is all volunteer so those people are there on their own time. I thought Fort Logan did an amazing job and I think about it a lot. read more

This is a beautiful cemetery. We had a service for our dad there this May and they arranged everything. He had full nilitary honors and some vets showed up as volunteers to do some extras. All very respectful and gracious. A naval chaplain came to do the eulogy and a USAF colonel and honor guard came. We could not have asked for more. read more

This is a beautiful cemetery with a lot of resemblances to Arlington National Cemetery. I had never been to Fort Logan before this June 2016 and had two funerals within 3 days. The first we buried and remembered 30 War Veterans from WWII to Vietnam who had been forgotten on shelves and various funeral homes and were unclaimed due to various reasons. The next was for a dear friend of mine husband who was a Navy veteran and lost his battle to cancer. Although the two were very different ceremonies the experience was the same in their unique ways. The setting is beautifully maintained and does give honor to our men who served our country with a place that will be there for ever. The wait time to have a funeral is a lot shorter than Arlington but I believe they actually do more than Arlington on a weekly basis. read more
