The entire process was smooth, seamless, and the care and sensitivity experienced was exactly what we needed in such a time of cloudiness. They helped us through the process, held our hands through the planning, and were there in the background on the day of the service to support us and our family. These people showed no real compassion. It felt like business as usualWe had my father in law cremated by Parker and we had him shipped to California. Parker poorly package him and when he arrived his ashes were all over the interior of the box they fell on our floor and table. We had 4 urns placed in velvet boxes the velvet boxes were covered in ashes. We had to take him and the packaging to a local funeral home to have him repackaged and to save all the ashes we could. We had to pay for new enclosures for all the urns.These people showed no real compassion. I called Meredith requesting a refund and she she she was sorry but she would not refund us.She showed no real compassion. It felt like business as usual Not only would she not refund us she was unwilling to pay for the local funeral home having to repackage my father in law. It was so horrifying as a family to open this box and have to take it somewhere else for care. Meredith was quick to blame this one the post office but the funeral home here locally says all mortuaries should know that a biodegradable bag doesn't travel well and to double wrap it with a sealed bad. Meredith takes no responsibility for these actions she charged us 195 to ship him and when he arrived she actually paid USPS 75. We are very upset she says in her 29 years this has never happened and yet she is unwilling to refund us so we have to pay for this service twice. Can't help but wonder if this is how she treat my father in law in her shipping how she treats everyone's loved ones who are trusted in her care. I would steer clear from this place if you want to get your loved one back in tack this is not the right place. If you care about your loved one do not trust these people to handle their care. This mistake as Meredith puts it was our loved ones ashes we had been assured would come back to us as a whole but instead his ashes were everywhere and we double paid. I have included a picture of when I opened the box it was much worse as we started to unpack it and I did not want to photograph it. read more

We have to put one of our precious dogs down today and my wife had called the funeral home and they said that they could help us with the cremation process and offered to meet us at the veterinarian after we had him put to sleep and they would take him to, and from the crematory The young lady that came to help us name was Cory. I cannot say enough good about the way she treated us at the respect that she showed. We had sent a picture to her at her request of our pup and when she showed up at the veterinarians office. Do not take your loved ones here My father was cremated here 9/1/21 and we paid to have him shipped from Colorado where he passed away to California. When his ashes arrived they were all over the packaging the bag bursted open and ruined the velvet boxes for the 4 urns we bought, his ashes were openly all over the inside of the box it was very unsanitary and horrific to open this. The ashes spilled out of the box during the travel. My dads ashes were not intact it was very traumatic as a family. We had to take my dads loose ashes and urns to a local California mortuary to repackage his remains they said they've never seen such a disregard for human remains and that we should file something with bbb We contacted Meredith at the mortuary she will not refund us, says she did nothing wrong and refuses to explain the 75 usps versus the 195 she charged us. She's been unreasonable and uncaring She says no refund at all and really no apology blaming the post office instead of acknowledging poor packing. As a family we would never recommend this place please don't take your loved ones here they do not respect them. read more

Best service in the area you won't find more compassionate people anywhere else. We had called around to Horan and Mcconaty and Ponderosa Valley for information on cremation and burial and the staff at both locations where extremely disrespectful and no help it was almost as if we were bugging them. When we called Parker funeral home we were met with compassion and all of our questions were answered, the staff seemed to genuinely care about our loss. They did not know the proper procedures or timing to file Cremation assistance papers. The owner blamed me for not telling them, yet I have an email with the forms sent by Mike 3 weeks to late. They did not follow state procedures and it cost me up to $2200.00. The owner said she would correct her employees mistake then she did not. The owner lied instead of admitting her employee's mistake she blamed me (the grieving daughter). This is not a trustworthy business in my experience! read more

Our mother passed on July 28, 2018 and we were guided to Parker Funeral Home by an acquaintance of my sister. Meredith was amazing. My mother needed to be transported to Sacramento, CA, and we were under a short time frame to make arrangements for the funeral there. Meredith worked with the doctor's office to ensure we received the death certificates in a timely fashion, coordinated with the airlines and the funeral home here in California to ensure we could have the service in the time needed, and was very mindful of the costs. She also provided a viewing time and ideas to help the youngest grandchild (almost 8) understand and be a part of the process - he added a handcrafted card and bracelet to the casket he and "Gigi" had made, and she suggested we send off balloons with notes to be part of the memory during the graveside service and the celebration of life. It is always stressful and sorrowful losing a loved one, but Meredith took the time to ensure that family was first, and that our needs were acknowledged and met with care, concern and efficiency. She took care of everything that could be done from her end and my sister and I are grateful for the compassion and hard work of Meredith and all the staff at Parker Funeral Home when our mother was in their care. read more

10 years ago when my father passed I used Parker Funeral Home and they did a great job taking care of my Dad and even let me bring my pup along to say goodbye to his Grandpaw. I was very happy with how they handled everything and my Mom said she wanted everything the same when it was her time. This October my sister and I arranged an appointment with Meredith to pre plan for my Mom who was not in good health. Unfortunately , they had a fire recently which made some of their building and cremation oven unavailable. We assured her we wouldn't be needing her until next year. A week later my Mom passed. They made arrangements to store Mom at another local place but brought her back for preparation and viewing. They did an excellent job making her look like she used to, hair and all. We had a small intimate room to spend our time with Mom and even bring her dog along to say goodbye. It was emotional, of course, but she was in good hands and we were very happy with them even though it wasn't a happy time. I highly recommend them but hopefully won't need them for a very long time. read more

At a time in ones life that is filled with such sorrow, everyone with the funeral home were so immensely kind and warm and were a huge help when one is at their lowest. Unlike the larger mortuaries, this is a small family run business without the bells and whistles and of course the price tag that can break a family. Went to a service with a family member. After the service we were waiting in our cars to follow the hearse to the cemetery. A gal came around to all of us and said we would be a 30 minute wait, a first for me. After 30 or 40 minutes this rent a cop pulls in ready lead the procession. While everyone is waiting, the director and his assistant go over and shoot the bull with the cop for 5 minutes, laughing and talking like it was old home week on the farm. Finally we leave with the cop driving like a fool with his siren blaring try to block traffic and lead, what a mess. After the service we went to pick up the arrangements for the family and take them back to the house. Not only did the funeral home not provide that service, they also had not documented who sent flowers as we were told not to lose the cards on each arrangement in order to identity who sent them. Completely different from any service I've ever been to but maybe that's how they operate up there. I just hope know one I know dies and uses this place so I won't have to witness this circus again. read more
