My mother passed away unexpectedly and it was a complete shock. I have never planned a funeral…read morebefore and didn't even feel emotionally prepared to do so. Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services was recommended to me and my sister by the pastor at her church. When we arrived at the funeral home, we were met with such warmth and compassion. Steve, the funeral director, is very soft spoken and was very empathetic to our situation. Never having planned a funeral before, Steve walked us through each step and was extremely patient with us and all of our questions. He made us feel so comfortable. We felt like our mom was in really good hands and being treated with the respect she deserves. He mentioned how she had a warm blanket, a pillow, night light and music playing in the background. Even though my mom might not know the difference, it was just comforting to us to know that she was well taken care of. At the private family viewing, Steve and his wife Nanci set everything up so beautifully. We were actually surprised at how good they made our mom look, given the circumstances of her death. I was afraid I wouldn't recognize her, but I did. She looked beautiful and as much like herself as she possibly could. They really did a great job and are definitely perfectionists at what they do. Even though we had the actual funeral at a church two days after the viewing, Steve and Nanci took care of our flowers and brought them and the photos from the funeral home to the church. It was one less thing for us to worry about that day. They even offered to take and donate any flowers that we didn't want to take home. Because this is an emotional time for anyone going through it, it's nice to know that your loved ones are taken care of and that you feel cared for as well. I really love the fact that it is a small, family owned business. We really felt like we got the personal attention that we needed. Every time we called, we always got Steve or Nanci on the phone. Whenever we would pull up to the front door, Steve would come outside, greet us by name and help us with anything that we needed to carry in or out. I believe it's the little details like that that really make a difference. I felt like they treated us and our mom as though we were their family members. Thank you Steve and Nanci for taking such good care of us and our mom and for putting our minds at ease during this difficult time.

I went this year with ashes from three sweet dogs. Seven Stones is light & airy, very serene. Lots of beautiful flowers, trees & sculptures. Nice paths to walk around with creeks & waterfalls to enjoy. For this Pet Memorial Seven Stones partnered with Caring Pathways, a pet palliative care service. They set up tables & chairs under a shade awning & even provided breakfast treats & water. Note, you need to make a reservation to participate, 25 people is the max & it lasted about two hours. We all brought photos of our pets & each had an opportunity to talk about them. There was a wonderful officiant who delivered a heartwarming service, followed by a craft activity. Lastly, we all went down to the Forever Friends Commons to place the ashes. Seven Stones did a beautiful memorial service, such caring people. It was a very emotional & touching send off to all the pets in their final resting place.

We have a house with a nice west facing view in the back yard. We installed a new deck, but needed…read morethat finishing touch of an awning to shield the deck (and Great Room) from that blazing afternoon summer sun. Enter Best Awning Company. I called them for an estimate. The owner, Tyler, happened to be finishing up an estimate in Parker and he was at our place within about 20 minutes. That is responsive! He looked over the area, took measurements, and reviewed our options, including brands, styles, features, colors, etc. We elected to go with the KE Durasol for the deck and a Sunsetter Easy Shade for the pergola. We opted to get the motorized version for both. Given the size of the awning we wanted, the product had to be ordered, but it was not a long wait, about 4 weeks (probably a little less). The crew showed up on time, were highly professional and did quality work. We even had to have some extra support work done given the span of our awning (pushing 20'). The crew engineered the proper solution and completed installation of the awning and the screen in about 4 hours. The product and quality of work was fantastic. As a side note, we had some high winds, resulting in a slight final adjustment. Tyler came out and made the adjustments himself and things have worked flawlessly ever since then. We are extremely pleased we went with the electric versions of the products as well as the products themselves. Tyler was very responsive, professional and helpful as was Teresa, coordinating everything from the office. The installation crew was top notch. I'd highly recommend them to anyone. Just so you know, I recommended them to my in-laws and they are extremely happy with their awning as well. (You know I have to like the product and company to recommend them to the in-laws. :D)
