I feel compelled to write this to help other people…read more I saw Dr. Kim last year because she took my insurance. I was very surprised to see what old technology she used - I haven't seen a dentist using that kind of x-ray machine in a long time. And the x-rays weren't taken well and had to be retaken and gee thanks for all the radiation. She looked in my mouth and said that I have serious recession and I must come in very regularly for extra treatments that would cost hundreds of dollars and are not covered by my insurance. Considering I've seen a dozen dentist over the past 40 years and nobody had said anything, I was skeptical. I kept asking questions and she said, "You will lose your teeth if you don't come in very often for me to do root planing. This is very serious." I was very upset of course and scheduled the next appointment, but then I decided to get a second opinion. I went to a doctor in another town whom I knew was good and he said, "I don't want to be unprofessional and speak of another dentist. But from what I see, any damage is old, there's no sign that you are in any danger, everything is fine." Today I went to a dentist in New Orleans and he had no reservations. When I told him the whole story he said, "That's beyond sketchy. She totally lied to you. Her treatment does not cure the situation she claimed you had. I'm sure glad that I don't have a car or boat loan payment so high that I have to tell lies like that." So, beware.
