I loveeeeed this place. It's country, it's homey, it's beautiful, peaceful, everything you could ask for. If you like the country life and you don't care about luxury you would love this place. The owner, Al was amazing. He makes you feel at home and is really nice and attentive. 5 stars to this place. Better than any "five star" hotel. There's also bbqs outside, tables, grill and small basketball quart with a basket ball. Give this place a chance. A cool tip about this place, in the office, while checking in check out the big rack of dvds movies that you can watch while staying at the lodge. read more

Do not stay here! I had a campsite that was the most desolate place and there is one bathroom with no toilet paper and no water for the sink. AND the cost was absolutely ridiculous. There are plenty of campgrounds in this are area so skip this one. read more

I loved this motel--from the woodsy-piney decor, to the 5 mile mountain bike trail right outside the door, to the fact that our doggie could stay with us, to the location way the hell out in North-Eastern Cali that almost no one ever visits. The owners are so nice here! I came here all the way from LA for some work out here and I found this motel very affordable and clean rooms. My shower and toilet clogged and the lady who runs the place immediately got me a key to another room and refunded me so I had a place to stay for free for a day!! read more

My wife and I, and our kids and grandkids just enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Cedar Lodge. Al and Katherine are wonderful and gracious hosts, making our stay relaxing and pleasant. The rates are very reasonable ($102/night with kitchen, our son's room, #7 was $70/night and this was over a July weekend !), rooms were clean and well maintained. The grounds are park-like with lawn, BBQ's, a tree fort for the kids, basketball hoop and more. Our unit #4, had the kitchen. This is very much a mountain style motel with pecky cedar wood paneling, and classic mountain motifs in decor. You know you are in Plumas County, a mountain wonderland that has just about everything. Be aware, the refrigerators are the usual hotel size, but it held everything we brought, and the freezer worked like gang-busters in our unit, freezing blue ice rock-solid. The rooms are not air conditioned, but at the altitude of Lake Almanor/Chester (4534 ft), nights always cool off and the windows plus the fans that come with the room were adequate to cool it down about being out and about all day. We would definitely stay there again! read more

We found this place kind of at random, since we were going to see a nearby ghost town. We thought we might stay there, but it ended up not being a good idea, so we found the Cedar Lodge. This place is EXCELLENT. The hosts are the friendliest hosts I've literally ever met. The bed was so comfortable, the room so great, and we even had about a million movies to choose from to watch on the in-room tv. I can't wait to stay here again! read more

I would recommend Cedar Lodge to anyone who needs a clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay near Lassen. Katherine, the hostess, was incredibly helpful when we were trying to book things for our trip & even called me the day before we arrived to let us know there had been some heavy smoke blowing in from fires to the south & they would totally understand if when we got there we were overwhelmed by the smoke & decided to stay somewhere else. (We weren't -- the town just smelled a little like camp fire.) She held our reservation when I told her we were running late & stayed in the office late so we could get some dinner in town before things closed. Our room was more than adequate -- clean & comfortable, hot shower with good water pressure (kind of a big deal to me at hotels/motels), queen bed, mini-fridge, microwave, TV/DVD player, & wi-fi for $60 / night. They also have free movies in the office you can borrow. Nothing fancy, but we stayed there for two nights & it absolutely met our needs. I really wish I could give it 4.5 stars because my only complaints are so minor -- the Wi-Fi was a little spotty & occasionally cut in & out, & the pool wasn't heated while we were there so we didn't get to enjoy that. (Although if it had been hot, it probably would've been really nice to soak our feet, but it was a bit too chilly for the 60-degree nights that we were there.) Still, this was a great find when I was getting a bit nervous about where we were going to stay during that part of our trip. read more

I stayed at Cedar Lodge a few years ago before we moved to Chester area. It was a snowshoe weekend in January. The owner was very friendly. The room was cosy & comfortable. It's a great place for sportsmen & women. Snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing out the front door. Plenty of room for boats in the summer. An all around pleasant place to stay! read more

Ok.. so I am the husband. A few things worth mentioning includes late night walks after everyone else is asleep is the plethora of astronomical points of light in the evening sky. You don't see this living near urban locations and thus it makes it quite unusual, and yet beautiful. Make sure to eat steak, drink some suds and look for Bingo somewhere in town. If nothing else, there is an amazing huge freshwater lake you can rent a motorboat and buzz around till you're sick of it. (I wouldn't rent for more than two hours). Bring the pet, no matter what size or what number. read more

Loved this place. Friendly, cozy and just a couple of miles outside of town. The room was clean and comfortable. My husband loved the DVD selection (player in the room) and satellite TV. We didn't use the pool, but we did play badmitten! Our favorite hotel during our Lassen trip. read more

This unassuming old-style motor lodge looked a little worn on the outside, but what wouldn't after a rough winter of 11 ft of snow! The owners, Al and Kathy were very friendly and helpful hosts. The location is absolutely beautiful, the rooms and simple but clean, and the owners are extremely friendly. When checking in, I mentioned we had just finished a long drive, so the owner just handed me a key and told me I can pay and fill out the paperwork later, after I've rested. This place sucks! I read the Yelp reviews on this place before I decided to chance it and stay there a few months back. Even though there were 2 negative reviews I went. (Few motels or hotels allow dogs of one of which I have). Rude service, ancient rooms (like some the other motels that are mom and pop in the area) and I can't see why anybody gives these raving reviews. I guess my review will be pulled too because it doesnt conform. And it wasnt the cheapest motel in town, sorry. read more

Love this place! We visited Lake Almanor for a wedding and needed a place to stay. The first place I called was asking $159 for a basic room. Thank goodness I found the The Cedar Lodge. It ended up saving us almost $100. The rooms were basic but extremely clean, and the hosts were very friendly! We'll be back! read more
