I didn't get her name, but she was incredibly nice and made me feel welcome after a long day of hiking. Just exuded warmth. I got there right after the restaurant was closing and she still offered a drink or dessert if I wanted. And was more than happy to get me a giant bag of ice to restock my supplies for the morning. -The room had everything I needed - big bed, soft pillows, lights and a fan that worked, a great AC/Heater unit. Showers were hot and toilet was new. Fridge and freezer worked great. -the lack of WiFi wasn't an issue because there was just enough cell service so I could still be on my phone at the end of the night posting some pictures on my social media and chatting with a couple friends about my day. -It was very quiet - no issues with noise from outside or from the neighbors. -to top it off, they offer the ability to pre-order a deli sandwich for 9 bucks for 8am pickup before your hike day. The convenience factor alone was great - not to mention the price, which was about half of what the visitor center wanted to charge. And then - what a big delicious sandwich it was! Fresh carved turkey and cheese with all the fixings and fresh bread. Could the towels have been nicer and bigger? Yes. Could the bed have been a little softer? Yes. But at the price you pay - and the proximity to the heart of Lassen - this felt almost like a steal. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

We brought groceries and sleds and had a great time. I love the kitschy cabin decor, nice linens, and a well equipped kitchen (nice that basics like spices and olive oil are there for you...). Clean, cool and rustic with charming custom touches. The firewood was stacked with paper and kindling ready to go, and the cabin heated up quickly. My kids loved the vintage Pac Man game upstairs :) It's a wonderful family cabin. We will be back!

Rob & Linda Hart, who run the Inn & Coventry Gardens, are amazing! They were so sweet & welcoming & they made us feel right at home! The Old Town Mercantile that's inside the Inn offers a wide variety of neat gifts including some really cool vintage items. As gorgeous as the grounds are during the day you have to see them at night when their decorative lights are on. We stayed in The Blue Room & it was spacious & beautiful. Everything was clean & well stocked. With a view of the grounds & Coventry Gardens from several of the many windows & the large private bathroom with a tub & handheld shower, staying here was a real pleasure! But, the REAL treat was Linda's cooking! Oh my goodness! Her food was so amazing! We had dinner & breakfast there & both meals we beyond delicious! We will definitely be going back! Rented twice during our stay in the area - first a SeaDoo for a couple of hours then a pontoon boat…read morefor half day. Overall the experience(s) were positive - the lake is great (although it gets choppy in the afternoon) and the staff were all young and exuberant, a high energy fun vibe from all of them. The SeaDoo was in great shape and was just right for us as prior experiences (years ago) had us worried it would be unstable and hard for our kids to deal with. The pontoon boat was fine but had a few quirks (one Captain's armrest was loose and the 140hp motor felt perhaps a bit weak for good tubing (renting pontoon boats at lakes is an annual tradition for us so we've experienced a variety of power levels) but it was adequate for some fun. The refueling will add to your rental - be prepared for that, but the nightmare stories from prior customers do not match our experience. The staff was friendly and chill and we had no drama with returning both rentals. Thanks for two good days on the water!
