We came down on a Monday and left on Friday so we waited patiently until Thursday night for Cedar to open and boy was it worth the wait. Despite the only takeout option, the food was phenomenal. We got the ahi tuna steaks, filet mignon, and crab cakes. BEST MEAL WE HAD ON OUR TRIP! Everything was not only cooked to perfection but flavored and well seasoned. Plus the customer service was equally matched . The owners were as nice as their food. I was unable to get through the phone to them so I sent my dad over to the restaurant to order about 40 minutes before they close. They not only accommodated him but I forgot to order one sandwich and they let us place the order once we got there at 8. Super nice of them. Go there immediately! Great addition to this area! Fresh food, friendly service, great menu options. Our waiter, Sam, was so friendly and helpful (and patient with our crazy crew :) ). The call ahead option was nice since we had a group of 6 on a Thursday night. Appetizers were good, not amazing but definitely good (crab dip, fritters, spicy shrimp, Caesar salad). Entrees were excellent (paella - amazing flavor, filet mignon - done to perfection, pork tenderloin - melt in your mouth flavorful, encrusted cod - cooked perfectly and delicious, seafood pasta - a little heavy for a mid summer meal but still very good). Can't forget dessert - churros with ice cream, omg! We are looking forward to going back and seeing this place flourish! read more

All of the dishes I have tried were tasty! My favorite was a special Shrimp with grits! Great cocktails too

The bourbon cocktail was top shelf. The conch fritters came out piping hot. They tasted like the ones I got in St. John USVI. I also had a salad and the filet was cooked to perfection. Our waitress Mary was very professional, and the service was great. We will be back. read more

If you want to try takeout from Cedar (which their phone message said could be done after 5:00 pm on the day I called) and the option to do so just rings and then hangs up (repeatedly), don't bother. And if that happens, don't bother going to the restaurant in person to try and place a take out order. It ain't happening. I get it that they want to focus on their in person customers, but I guess they are just too busy doing so to take a minute to update their message ahead of time to say "no take out" on a particular night. Would love to try their food (reviews sound great!), but am not going to waste any more of my time trying when there are so many other good restaurants in the area (including those that actually do take out when they say they do). read more

This restaurant is a tiny bit off the tourist path - which is great! It is a family owned business and both the food and service were outstanding! There are lots of great seafood choices paired with locally sourced ingredients as well as beef, poultry and vegetarian options. We had the cashew crusted halibut and the duck. I was very excited to try this place after all the hype from my fiance. We started with drinks and the crab dip. Service was prompt most of the evening and the crab dip was very good, although not the best I've ever had. Mother in law ordered the crab cakes, she didn't complain but they were definitely burned on the bottom. Fiance ordered some sort of chicken, I couldn't tell really what because it was coated in cheese, she seemed happy. I got the paella, easily the worst paella I've ever had. The rice had no spice, no seasoning really to speak of, the flavors had no cohesion, it tasted as though everything was cooked separately then plated together. It also had a bone in BBQ chicken breast on top which for sure didn't go with the dish. The seafood was overcooked. I could tell there was a lot of crab included but couldn't really taste it. Sadly the sausage was the best part of the seafood dish. Very expensive evening for lots of flaws. Would not go back personally but maybe I'm the outlier considering all the other great reviews. read more

Looking for a good dinner Thursday night. Ordered a vodka mule and it was delicious. Husband got a Manhattan and it was ok. Dinner was stuffed shrimp and I ordered the filet. Both were excellent. Asked for my steak to be rare but with a warm center and it did not disappoint. Only thing I would ask for is if the noise level could be lower but you can't have everything! read more

My husband and I took my mom to this restaurant on May 28, 2022. My sister was also there with a table of 8. When I initially made the reservation, I asked if I could sit next, or close by, to my sister's table who I rarely see as she lives three hours away from me. They were most accommodating and were able to make this happen and in fact, offered me several options. When I arrived to the restaurant, the first face I saw was the hostess, Michele. First, she said she could not find my reservation. I told her about my conversation with the nice lady who initially made my reservation and she came back later to say she found it. She took us outside and proceeded to sit us there. I asked her if my sister's table was there as well. She said "I have no clue what you mean". I explained to her very nicely my conversation when making the reservation. She walked away from where we were standing and said nothing. We did not know if we were to follow her or not. She then turned around and said , "well, are you coming?" We then turned around and followed her not knowing what she was doing because she said nothing. I asked her what she was going to do, and very arrogantly replied, "I have to see what I can do to get you a table." We had dinner and the food was great. Actually, phenomenal. Since we had a 45 minute drive to where we were staying, we asked for ice and our waitress told us they were out of ice. I then called the owner the next day and told him our experience. We was nice but ended the conversation by saying, "I honestly cannot believe this all happened" as though I made it up. Bottom line, while the food was great, I now understand why the first face I saw was not pleasant at all because he sets the example, and he actually insinuated I would waste my time to call him and make a bogus complaint. Really? I did not get the name of the woman who initially took my reservation (was not Michele) but if they had her manage the place, this restaurant would be great. She was very helpful and very pleasant. Oh, and my sister's waitress, Sarah, one of the best waitresses I have every come across!!! read more

We were at another local restaurant and the couple sitting next to us recommended Cedar Land and Sea. I cannot believe we were unaware of it! Fabulous new restaurant with a fabulous menu! Friendly staff with very tasteful and beautiful hand-crafted decor. Enjoyed some of the best potato salad I have ever eaten along with a delicious BLT with avocado on a nice crusty roll. Lox platter as an appetizer was enough for a meal and then some! Lunch was so good we returned for Happy Hour where we enjoyed camaraderie at the bar with much talk about how everyone was enjoying their meals. Loved the warm family-run atmosphere. I called ahead and Kitty spoke to the Chef about what options I could have. They can make/alter several dishes on the menu Gluten Free Ingredients and prepared separately from other foods. I had the most delicious meal: filet seasoned perfectly, red garlic mashed potatoes, and vegetable medley. The server was familiar with celiac and both she and the manager were very helpful and pleasant. Communicated with the chef on alterations. This was the most delicious meal I have had since being diagnosed. We will be a regular here! read more

I have found a home restaurant away from home. Great atmosphere and the folks who work there are great. We walked in tonight hoping to get seated for dinner. Surprise surprise they were booked. Fully understandable. However the hostess came out after us in the parking area to say there was room at the bar. We sat at the bar and had a great dinner. I'm used to eating at the bar at my hometown restaurant so I was thrilled to to be able to try out this restaurant. It did not disappoint. The bartender Michelle was awesome and the food was top notch. I felt right at home and will definitely go back to Cedar many more times in the future. If you are in the area this is a must go to for dinner but make a reservation and enjoy. read more

Stopped in and picked up a slice of the key lime pie. It was AMAZING!!! Tart, smooth, and lots of lime flavor. Topped with a sprinkle of coconut and pistachio (I think) and some fresh herbs. My husband and I devoured it. read more

Not the best food around the area. Menu looked great for vegetarian and gluten sensitivity. When we were ready to order, we were informed the two regular menu items, halibut encrusted with cashews and stuffed portobello mushrooms were not available. We arrived at their opening dinner time and the first day after their two days off. Why wouldn't a restaurant make sure their standard menu items were available and why would a waitress wait until we were ready to order to inform us the menu items were not available? Not good! OUTSTANDING MEAL!!! We ordered in nine sandwiches from Cedar and it was the best dinner we've had in Bethany during our stay. The seafood in the Salmon, Tuna, and Crab Cake sandwiches was extremely fresh, thoughtfully seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The Cuban was delicious and the BBQ Chicken was tender and served with a perfectly dressed slaw. Best wishes during this phase of the opening!
