As per my prior reviews this is one of my top five restaurants for happy hour. My last review was in December 2025. I will summarize our two most recent visits in early 2026. We were first here with our friends around 4 PM on Friday for happy hour at the bar. I enjoyed my two pineapple juice with vodka for $5 each. I also enjoyed my whole one pound steamed lobster with drawn butter and a choice of two sides for $30. I enjoyed my two favorite sides namely the asparagus and sweet potato fries. My total bill was $70. I redeemed my $25 Toast birthday credit to my bill so my net cost was reduced from $70 down to $45. I also applied my balance to my gift card from November 2024, excluding gratuity. I returned here again around 4 PM with my friend for happy hour on lobster Tuesday. I enjoyed my two rum and cokes for $5 each. I also enjoyed my two Big Oyster Midnight Kraken draft stout beers in a snifter also for $5 each. I also enjoyed my lobster tail jambalaya for $22, which I was able to finish this time, since the quantity was decreased due to inflation. My total bill was $41.50 excluding gratuity, which again I used my gift card. We agreed we will continue to return here for happy hour. read more

Two stars for two seats at the bar that you'll never get. Two stars for two stale beers and two stars for the two bartenders that need to be more aware of keeping the flow of patrons going. Many guests waiting for seats while folks are waiting for their checks. So bad, had to leave. Won't be going back. Go to the Selbyville location where they get it right. Fail!!! read more

We stopped in for dinner after a shopping trip. Conveniently located right on the main road. The restaurant was hussling with a big trivia night. We were sat immediately, and enjoyed oysters. Dinner and cocktails were delicious. Our server was fairly new I believe, and went above and beyond to be accommodating. read more

What a great start to our mini vacation! The food was delicious, the tacos were just the write amount and delish! My husband tried the raw oysters and he said he should've had the 12 piece. We had been to their Northern location a couple years back. Today was lunch. The drunken chicken sandwich was great as was my grouper sandwich. The pumpkin beer was also really great. Maybe a little high for two sandwiches but they were excellent. read more

We have always enjoyed this restaurant when we come for several consecutive days 4-5 times a year. Last evening, though (9-16-25) we were surprised and disappointed. Our server was great, and the restaurant was humming pleasantly. We had Chincoteague oysters first. Delicious, of course. We ordered grilled rockfish, with mashed garlic potatoes and asparagus. The asparagus was undercooked.The main problem was the rockfish. It was dry and way overcooked. The overly-thick lemony sauce did nothing to alleviate the problem. Being an Eastern Shore native, I grew up loving our local fish. This serving was tough, dry, and stiff as plywood. Next time, if we return to Fins, we'll ask if the filet can be sautéed. read more

I would give this place a solid 3-3.5 stars. We were seated promptly outside which had a nice ambiance to it. Our server was great! She was attentive, helpful when asked questions, and very kind. The food was a little subpar for my expectations. The crab cakes were just okay, but I have had much better (especially for being at the beach). The side dishes were not good (and most people at the table agreed regarding their sides). The mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes had zero flavor. The mashed potatoes reminded me of high school lunch mashed potatoes lol. Overall, the service and ambiance were great but the food was just okay. The Fins Ale House and raw bar in Bethany Beach has great food. We tried the Fried Avocado stuffed with Shrimp salad and it was great. It came with some greens and topped with Sriracha Aioli that boosted the flavors. The Ahi Tuna Sandwich was a good portion and very flavorful, the side of Asparagus was good, and my husband's sweet potato fries were good too. The Brownie Sundae was a good size, it came with Ice cream & whipped cream, and was tasty. The service was great and the restaurant booths were nice and private. We went to Fins last Saturday as we enjoyed the food in the past. my wife orders crab soup which was fair along with her salad, I ordered a salad & added some fish protein. Our friends ordered fish tacos & a seafood bowel both liked the food. When the bill came they charged me an extra $25 for the fish plus the salad, the server never explained the heavy up charge where most restaurants say to add a protein is $8-10 up charge which is fine. We asked to speak with the manager who was rude then totally screwed up the payment. Another manager came over to try & straighten the billing out which took over an hour to fix things. Now 2 days later 1 of our friends is being charged again for their full share of their bill which was paid already & I'm now being charged again a total different amt then which I signed the credit slip I'm calling the credit card company to dispute STAY AWAY from this restaurant read more

Maryland on vacation. I ordered the flounder fish and i had it fried, my husband had the seafood pasta. Both dishes were just okay! Our food was very bland in taste. INCREDIBLE!!!!! First let me say that I had the BEST espresso martini in my ENTIRE LIFE here!!! I usually only have one drink at dinner, if that, but tonight I had two - and I wish I had a third! If you go here for dinner, you MUST get the espresso martini!!! Ok, now to the food, which was the reason for our visit. We came on a Thursday, which is crab cake night. I ordered the crab stuffed lobster and my husband ordered the crabcakes. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. No fillers in the crab meat and the lobster was cooked to perfection. Three out of four ate the oyster stew. The same three got sick. I've never had oyster stew before, but I've had stew. Stew usually has much less liquid and large cuts of meat and veggies. This was a creamy liquid, small slivers of onion and celery and some oysters at the bottom. The allergy menu was confusing and used a tiny and unreadable font for those over 60. Great overall restaurant to splurge on during vacation! The prices seem more expensive then usual, but it's probably because of tourism upricing. Everything we ordered was pretty tasty, and I would recommend this place to others coming to Bethany. Nothing blew me away, but I especially appreciated the size of the scallops in the paella. We go to Fins every year because in the past it has been excellent. This year it took a nosedive. The place reeked of a very strong fishy stench upon entering, which should have stopped us from even going one step further. We were seated quickly, but the rest of the service was terrible - extremely slow throughout our entire dinner and we rarely of ever saw our waitress. What I didn't realize until afterward was that some of our party had a view of the windows and a shelf behind us and said it was a thick layer of dirt, dust, and dead flies! Every surface from the floors, to the tables, to even the menus (!) were all sticky and it all felt and looked dirty. The food... some arrived faster than others. Some items had HUGE portions, some items were very tiny! Many things were poorly cooked and flavorless, other items were majorly overcooked. We reported some problems, watched the waitress tell the manager, and saw them both laughing in the back. No changes were made, nothing was done to alleviate the problems,nothing was removed off of the bill. Long story, short, we will never be going back. Such a shame to see a former great restaurant fall into such a mess in every possible way. read more

I've eaten at Fins here and there for years, and it's always been a solid choice, but tonight's meal renewed my impression of them. I had the cioppino, my dining partner had the seafood bake. Both were consumed with delight and left us utterly satisfied. These are not cheap dishes, $33-$34 each, but considering the price of eating out these day, these dishes represent a good value with plenty of good, fresh seafood. I had the cioppino, which was packed with various types of seafood in a piping hot savory spicy broth. A REALLY REALLY good broth. This was accompanied by three pieces of bread. I did not opt for the additional linguine and I'm glad I didn't. The bread was perfect, a dense fresh multigrain bread that was not just some afterthought but held its own against this substantial entree. Our server was amazing. Comforting and efficient, making sure nothing interfered with our enjoyment of the food. The atmosphere is functional seafood restaurant, nothing fancy, but that's fine with me. I'm not a fan of expensive fancy restaurants that serve food that doesn't measure up to expectations. At Fins, the food seems to be the focus, the way it should be. read more

Good food, good service, relaxing atmosphere for a late lunch in January. I had buffalo brussels sprouts, which were perfectly cooked and flavorful with buffalo sauce and blue cheese crumbles. We came here for early dinner/ happy hour after spending the day at BB for 5+ hours. Bar high table area was 1/2 full when we arrived around 5pm. The dozen oysters on the 1/2 shell were great but fish tacos were fantastic. They were so good that we ordered 2 more orders . 1lb of mussels and chorizo cheese fries were just ok. Sweet Thai chili wings were better than old bay flavor wings (not enough seasoning). Very good service. There were 4 starving and thirsty adults and the bill was $110 before gratuity.
