I recently went to cedar point last sunday. I have been driving by this place for the past year and finally walked through the front door and was greeted 5 seconds after I entered. I took a seat at a clean table and had my food within 15 minutes. I had country fried steak with gravy with two over eggs, and two slices of toast. The waitress was very attentive and knew by just looking at what I was eating that I was going to ask for hot sauce. The ambiance was quiet, calm, and peaceful. I enjoyed every second of dining at cedar point. This place is the only warm and welcoming breakfast joint in Spring Lake. I highly recommend everyone to visit every sunday. read more

Where do I even start! This place is absolutely amazing 100000% would recommend. We walked and my son was a little fussy I was super embarrassed who I'm guess is the owner walked up and started helping getting him calm down which means so much to me they brought over a coloring book and crayons to help out. When we travel, we use Yelp for recommendations for local eateries and we found this little gem. The outside is nothing fancy and inside is very relaxing and welcoming .... We are welcomed with southern hospitality and seated ourselves, there were other folks in here eating and it reminds us of a small dining room, not many tables but decorated nicely, extremely clean inside. We ordered the standard, eggs, bacon, pancakes and sausage. The biscuit is killer !! Our food arrived fairly quick and was hot and tasty. The servers provided outstanding service ! Holy Breakfast!! This restaurant was located near the hotel we were staying at, and my other half wanted something different than the breakfast offered there. When we walked in we were warmly greeted, and shown to a table. We looked at the menu and saw that all the southern favorites were present and accounted for! I went with a cheesesteak omelette with country potatoes and grits as my sides. There was also a biscuit involved that was seriously tasty! I had orange juice to drink, Husband had coffee and said that it was very good. Being in the military we have this natural sense to come together when natural disasters come. This is our first hurricane ever! Florence has scared me and my children more than I anticipated. So when the wind subsided we decided to have a family meal together before they haul my husband to help with FEMA on stand by or head to JRTC for a month. We get in this restaurant and after we're seated, I did notice an older woman complaining waiting tables. I felt sorry for her because she had a very bad attitude from being overwhelmed. The young waitress sat down another family after us. To give an idea of how long we waited, the family ate, paid and we were still trying to get it together. It was sad, frustrating, & quiet rude. I don't wave my husband status around to get special treatment or sympathy. We serve humbly. The service we got wasn't the worse of it. So before we sat down an older tall gentleman was wiping the table down for us his hand was CUT. I mentioned to him "oh your hand got cut" he said "it sure did..." he went to the back I'm thinking to have someone re-wipe the table because he was leaking blood! No he didn't. I sat there with my stomach in my throat. I lost my appetite and could no longer eat. He comes back after a while and I notice he is cleaning plates and wiping down another table and he DOES NOT have a bandage or bandaid on his cut. I will never and I mean never. Be back here again. Stopped for breakfast and though it is not the most stylish place the service and the food was outstanding. I ordered pancakes ( a stack of 4) wow they were huge only ate 2. Very tasty and hot when delivered. Person with me ordered French toast she got 4, lots of food and very good. Waitress returned often for coffee refills and to make sure we were satisfied. THERE BACK!! COVID-19 couldn't keep their great food out of my mouth. They opened 6-8-20 and are fallowing all the new SD requests. It's the great food and atmosphere that had me there with bells on. Really missed their bac,egg and cheese on their home made biscuits. Covered in their home made sausage gravy. Let's not forget the fresh cut potatoes that are made to order. The food was okay. Omelette was pretty good but not many options-was real eggs which I enjoyed. This was my last breakfast location I planned on trying and I won't be back. First, it was hard to find an updated menu so I opted for the one on grub hub. I then called and placed my order. The woman who helped me sounded kind of nervous and asked if it was okay to give me my total when I got there. I agreed but I should not have. I got there and my total was noticeably higher. I asked why. The lady printed the receipt and showed me where the total came from. Every price listed was higher by at least $1 and then their was a mandatory gratuity of almost $7 that wasn't mentioned. Then there was a fee for styrofoam boxes. Then there was a 4% fee for using a credit card. In total my price was between $16-$18 higher than expected with no warning. That's why I found the review so important, so no one else is surprised by this enormous amount of fees. It's honestly highway robbery and the only fee was posted was the 4% fee which was on a placemat beneath my to go bags. Beware this place, I wouldn't rate the food good enough for the amounts you pay for it. read more

First time here . The dining room was very small & old fashioned. Our waitress was a very nice kindly older woman who took our order for breakfast. Food came out promptly & was good but...... when I got the bill I was unpleasantly shocked to see it was over $32.00 for an omelet & a 2 egg & sausage plate with NO beverages!! Usually a menu will say when things are an extra charge but alas this one doesn't & the server should tell the customer when it is extra. The menu said it came with grits & toast but usually one can have home fry potatoes which we both asked for. My Western omelet had five ingredients so I asked to omit the green peppers & tomatoes & just put in mushrooms- still no response that it would be an extra charge to remove 2 ingredients & substitute 1!! So we were charged an extra $6.85 ( $2.50 x 2 home fries, $1.00 for mushrooms, & .85 cents to put onions in 1 home fries! Think that is a bit outrageous so won't be back. read more

BLEH! Been here a few times, but went back again about six weeks ago. This was in the peak of COVID19, yet not one of their employees were wearing a mask! If they are that blatantly disrespectful about the health of their employees and, more importantly, their customers, then I can only imagine what they do to the food when we can't see it. They were also seating people throughout the small, cramped dining area. Clearly, they aren't following the appropriate protocol. The food was good, but I'll never go back if they are that disrespectful. Instead, I try to support the businesses who are at least TRYING to keep the economy open. Pure ignorance right here. We wanted to try a local place instead of a chain like the IHOP down the road. While the food was great, the prices seemed a touch high. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, NONE of the staff was wearing masks. To top it off, while behind the wall separating the dining area from the wait staff area, the waitress was heard blowing her nose. After which I heard NO sink running and saw no evidence of hand sanitizing. She immediately grabbed the plates for another table and took them out. Since we were all but finished eating, we just sat there dumbfounded. We asked for the check, paid and left. There's enough food to make you full, but not stuffed, which is a good sign. - Quality of food. With the exception of the omelettes, which I address below, their food is pretty good My friends love their grits. - Price. Pretty decent for what you order. My total, without tip, was around $13. What's Not: - The inside space/seating. Seating is limited. This is primarily a mom and pop type of restaurant, so be aware. We came 10:30am on a Sunday morning and it was still pretty full. Not a lot of room, so be aware of how many people are in your group. - Limited menu. On the one hand, you're not agonizing over a ton of options. On the other hand, they may not have what you want or like. Their breakfast menu is the whole left page of the menu. - The omelette was pretty thin. Their menu says its a 3 egg omelette, which it definitely is. I like my omelettes hearty and fluffy, which this is not. To be fair, it's dependent on your taste. The omelette wasn't bad, but I've definitely had better. I probably wouldn't order it again. - Canned mushrooms. My veggie omelette had canned mushrooms. Not a fan. - Light staff. Again, this is a mom and pop type of restaurant. What this means is that when they get busy, which is very easy to do, it's hard to get what you need. For example, my friends kept trying to flag down the waitress for coffee, which was not an easy task. - Parking lot is not convenient. This isn't a large restaurant and can't hold too many people, which means you're not fighting a ton of people to find parking. But the parking lot circles the restaurant, so be aware that you are going to have to circle. A hidden gem in Spring Lake/north Fayetteville. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon it looking for somewhere to grab a quick breakfast on a Saturday. We stepped in about 10:30, just before the big brunch crowd. My boyfriend ordered the Mexican omelette (came with grits or home fries and a biscuit or toast). Not impressed. Very nice servers, but the food was not what I thought it would be according to the other reviews. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, and a belgian waffle. My husband got a Southern omelette ( I think that was the name) with ham, cheese, and sour cream (which he had on the side). His omelette was made using processed cheese and finely chopped ham. The eggs were cooked lightly in butter, or something, but it turned out runny. My waffle was bland and a bit dry, and my scrambled eggs were runny, as well. The syrup that I was given looked like a syrup bottle they bought from Walmart and removed the sticker, however, it tasted like bland pancake syrup! I'm sure this review will stick out like a sore thumb among these 4 & 5 star reviews, but I'm simply calling it like it was. Went here for dinner one night while staying in Fayetteville. It was worth the drive. Our food was delicious and plentiful. Prices were pretty good for real food. The fried squash was the best I've ever had. The beautiful waitress personally made my salad, and it was perfect. I ended up taking a lot of food back to my motel room. The trend seems towards $50 1-inch square sandwiches consisting of wilted lettuce and mystery meat (or, to cater to vegetarian crowd, mystery plant). But with a coupon, you can get 2-for-1! Fortunately, a few high-quality, inexpensive restaurants still flourish here. At the top of that list is the family owned Cedar Point restaurant. Over past 10 years now, I have eaten several times at Cedar Point. If you have read my other reviews, you can guess that I would need a few good reasons for repeat visits to any eatery. Let's start with ambiance. When you first step through the door (open all week, between 6 AM and 3 PM), you are greeted by family pictures on the wall and the intimate arrangements of the tables and chairs. It's as though you have entered a large dining room of someone's cozy home (but without the large dog and its friendly, probing nose). As you talk with the waitresses and the owners, you feel as part of a happy family during their mealtime. Only the touch of a menu brings you back to a restaurant setting. Even then, as you peruse the food selections, it's like being in a good friend's home where their mom enjoys cooking everything - from tasty breakfast omelets to filling lunch sandwiches to mouth-watering meat-and-potato dinners. Only this mom has taken time to write everything down just for you, along with a modest price list. (Think of her as "there's no such thing as free lunch, but it doesn't have to be overpriced" type mom.) Next, of course, is the full-flavored food. Usually, I go there for a hearty breakfast of creamed beef on toast, two eggs, hash browns, bacon, a side order of toast, and a seemingly bottomless cup of coffee. The quality and quantity that I get for $8 puts the chain restaurants in the area to shame. (If you've been to the nearby disappointment known as IHOP, you'll know what I mean.) And the service? Even when I've stopped by during rush hours, I've been impressed by the how well the cook prepared my meal and how quickly a smiling (though slightly frazzled) waitress delivered the tasty morsels to my table. How well do I enjoy this place? When I have out-of-town visitors, I show off the few good points of living in Spring Lake by taking them to Cedar Point restaurant. The food quality is good and the service is very personable. The food was tasty, the service was fantastic, and the prices are absolutely perfect.
