Located off the main road, this place was recommended. We were seated quickly and drinks were brought immediately. Another 15 minutes passed before our order was taken. All the waitresses were friendly and polite. The carpet and interior could be updated, but they were cleaning tables off. As long as it's clean . I ordered the whole catfish with okra and baby limas, unsweetened tea, Came with hush puppies. Music was playing different songs in the dining room and kitchen. It was unnerving. But when the food came-----delicious!!! Limas seasoned perfectly. Okra fried crispy. The best hush puppies in town, made with sour cream. It's sweet as cake. Speaking of cake, we ended with the key lime pie. Graham cracker and butter crust holds together nicely and the pie itself is very smooth and slightly tangy. Yes, we'll be back!

This was my first visit to Cedar River Seafood. I was recommended by a bus tour group as we stopped in for lunch, so I had not read the Yelp reviews until afterwards. I wanted to collect my own impression based on the food and the service. Since we were a large group, I did not expect to have the service we had, but I was pleased overall. The servers were fast and efficient. Next, the food which is the most important element of Cedar River. The fish was crispy, but not too hard and it was fresh. The portion was plenty and the prices were fair too. I learned that there are at least three Florida locations: Fernandina, Callahan, and this one. I was surprised to see the low ratings, but it really was tasty food here. I would recommend giving it a try for yourself. There were lots of cars in the parking lot, so I am not sure the air of mediocrity hangs over the restaurant. Again, I enjoyed my food and the experience.

Doesn't look like much but the staff is very friendly and the fried flounder was actually pretty tasty. I would like to see more attempt to clean, table was sticky and I could see dust all around the restaurant. Overall not a bad place to get a fast meal

The store clerk was kind and very pleasant to the customers. Everything looked fresh and the miscellaneous items were stacked nicely as well. There was a lady outside in the parking lot asking patrons for money who eventual came inside and asked the store clerk if she could use the restroom; the store clerk was polite and said yes. I overheard this exchange but I felt it was worth mentioning and three stars at the very least. When I asked if they used butter or margarine on their fantastic looking crab trays and the clerk said margarine. I appreciated her honesty but everyone knows how extremely unhealthy margarine is; margarine is not five star quality. The overall experience and interaction was five stars but the margarine is a negative one for sure and needs to be reconsidered.

Our brunch experience definitely confirmed that, with a tasty twist on Cajun cooking. My husband tried the Earlton Hash. A tasty combination of shrimp, andouille sausage, a creamy hollandaise sauce and done wonderful tiny potatoes all topped with a fried egg. This dish made for a memorable brunch. He topped it off with a bottle of beer to connect the two eating periods. I opted for the French Toast. It was tender and moist. It came with very crispy bacon. The dining room is nicely furnished with stained glass sea life. They also showcase artwork for sale. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. However, the kitchen is a bit slow in service. Side note-the restrooms, while functional, could use work. And for those looking for liquid refreshments there is an attached bar, with seating behind a full wall .

It tasted like hard booze. No "creaminess" to it. They said it was wine and butter. The toast points were baguette toasted on one side. When you put it in the butter, it went immediately soggy. The server offered to pour cream in it. I sent it back. Didn't ask if I'd like anything else. My husband ordered the lobster bisque. He got a huge bowl (he should, it was $14.95). It was good. We ordered the blue crab and artichoke dip. The dip was good if you could dig through all the cheese. The tortilla chips were very greasy. I ordered clam chowder to go. It was freezing in there and we couldn't take it any longer. We waited a half hour for that clam chowder. Ridiculous! Then she brought me medium styrofoam cup 3/4 full, Luke warm. Chowder ($12.95). $54.00 out of pocket. We will never go there again.

It was fun to see the fresh caught fish in a display case on the way to order. At the end of our visit I chatted with one of the staff and she was super friendly to this out of towner. I personally had one of the specials - Cobia grilled with teriyaki glaze and mango salsa and fried okra instead of fries. The fish was cooked perfectly, not dried out, the flavor combination was well balanced. The okra was plentiful and, while I prefer cornmeal batter (Cracker Barrel style), this batter was seasoned just right and cooked to a nice golden color. I noticed that even though everything has a fried option, the restaurant didn't smell greasy or fishy. My husband had a fried chicken sandwich that he enjoyed and my nephew had a cheeseburger that looked delicious too. No one walked away hungry or disappointed today. Only thing I missed was trying dessert, but we headed out just before it got busy with the dinner crowd. I would definitely eat here again and recommend to friends!

Though it was briskly busy for Sunday service, the ambiance remained thoroughly pleasant and impeccably maintained. We were seated toward the back of the establishment, offering an utterly magnificent, unobstructed view of the river. To begin, I selected a crisp Corona Extra with a fresh slice of lemon, while my assistant opted for a fine beer. For our luncheon, we ordered a platter of raw oysters, which were extraordinarily fresh, perfectly chilled, and thoroughly divine for a late-afternoon meal. To top off a splendid day, we indulged in a warm cinnamon roll for dessert a delightfully decadent sweet finish. Watching the breathtaking sunset cast its glow over the water made for a truly magical afternoon. Impeccable views, fresh cuisine, and a wonderful atmosphere I shall most certainly be returning!

The restaurant needs a sign on SR13, as it is easy to pass. I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon to a nearly full parking lot. Interestingly, there were very few folks there. They should expand the parking lot. I can't imagine finding parking during busy periods. The restaurant was large and nautically decorated, but not tacky. Outdoor deck was a nice size, with overhead fans that minimized the heat. Dining area and ladies' restroom were clean. Service was friendly, efficient, and enjoyable. As soon as I entered, I was greeted. Shortly thereafter, I was shown to a table, told the specials, and given time to place an order. The calamari dish was excellent -- dare I say better than Julington Creek. The Tuesday 20-Piece Shrimp Dinner w/ One Side ($19.99) was a great deal. Shrimp were served piping hot with tarter sauce, sweet chili sauce, and bang bang sauce. Shrimp Shack uses better seasoning on their fried shrimp. But Outback Crab Shack shrimp are huge; taste fresher; and can be served grilled, blackened, or fried. I prefer sides like hush puppies, vinegary slaw, or mac & cheese, but the side of fries were fresh, hot, and plentiful. I was too full for dessert. Maybe next time...
