Create your own boil

I was really hoping for a better experience! I was sat rather quickly on an early afternoon with only four other tables sat. I waited for nearly 15 minutes for a server to arrive. (Unbeknownst to me my server was the bartender despite my not sitting in the bar area). When he did arrive he was nice enough and took the order although didn't bring drinks until 10 minutes after my appetizer arrived. My biggest complaint though comes from the absolutely insipid crawfish; I got two pounds and one pound of snow crab. The crawfish was tasteless and very much seemed prepared from directly from frozen. For a seafood place I'm a quite displeased with that, but would give them another change but wouldn't order the crawfish.

The food was good however they didn't follow the waitresses information because my shrimp boil didn't have the correct items I ordered in them. And the eggs were boiled too hard. But the shrimp were cooked well. My friends and I were there for lunch but it was quite empty in there. So I was a little confused how the order got messed up. All of the boil bags were good, and the drinks weren't watered down. So that was also a good thing..

1 lb of crabs.

Absolutely the best crabs ever! I don't know what they put in their seasoning, but it is truly ambrosia and if I could bottle it, I would. I have to say that three crabs make up a pound, which seems a little on the short side, especially as I was hungry, however no complaints. I suppose a bit more potato wouldn't hurt. This place is outrageously good and on my return trip we'll definitely stop here. Meantime- what's the recipe. I need this at home. Service was excellent by Jamie and price is reasonable considering the great taste.

Amazing!!!!! Went with my girlfriend for a date and while it was pricy it was worth every penny. I loved Eatting there and the food was great. The staff were quick to help us and made sure we had a great time.

Croutons were stale and clam chowder was too salty

Mr. & Mrs. Crab was a disappointing experience for many reasons: - Mr & Mrs Crab Seasoning was so salty so our entire bag of crab legs+lobster tails+corn were almost inedible - We got 2 lobster tails and they tasted fishy and dirty - I asked for no cheese on my salad and they still gave me cheese and the croutons were stale - The server charged another table's check on my credit card and said the refund would go back on my credit card in 3-5 business days - Clam chowder was too salty as well - Chicken tenders were ok The only things that I liked were the sweet potato fries. So sad. Definitely not worth the money!

Seafood by the coast atmosphere in the city. Server was friendly and attentive. The Mr n Mrs Crab Special Sauce definitely brought I good flavor to the seafood. The Build Your Own Boil was a lot of food compared to other seafood restaurants that offer the same boil. With a great option to add more of what you like, of course it cost extra but you can add more potatoes or corn or boiled egg, n other yummy yummy yummy options. During the day, family friendly environment. Kid's menu for kids. TVs all around for viewing of sporting events. A bar for drinks, a jukebox for music, so I'm sure at night it is a good time. Overall, when in Gainesville and looking for great seafood, this is the place! Great environment! Great food! Great staff!

Crawfish and Sausage with Potatoes and Corn!

Server was amazing! He was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu! Now the 1lb Sausage and 1lb Crawfish with Potatoes and Corn were amazing! Got them seasoned with the Mr and Mrs Special and Extra Spicy made this boil amazing! The environment and music was pretty legit too at this place! Definitely recommend this spot!

The seafood boil here is amazing!!!! The service was great and the lady who took our order was so sweet and polite. We did to go and the food came out super fast, all our seafood was cooked to perfection, nothing was under or overcooked. I really recommend checking out this area if you love a good seafood boil. Also grab some bread sticks when you stop by! You won't regret it

What we were left with, out of town so couldn't take to go

Tried this place while out of town, and to be honest may have given it a 3.5 if it was an option. Good side: Quick service, Great Waitstaff (he was super friendly with everyone), Great deal with a pound of shrimp thrown in for free with two lbs of crab legs. Fun set up inside, decor, crab bibs, etc. We had the garlic butter with Old Bay on the side. Negative side: Lack of tools made it less enjoyable. Seems crackers were limited, and no small forks or picks. Plastic silverware didn't help so I had to leave the meat in the some of the legs behind because I just gave up. It really was challenging and for the price you pay, and for their specialty being crab legs (hence the name) I expect more. It was a disappointment. Would I go back? Maybe, if my son really wanted to. He had fun, but had the same challenges I did, so the work became doubly as frustrating for me.

It was 9:30 on a Friday, parents weekend at UF and no reservations. I went directly to Yelp for best late night restaurants in Gainesville and Mr & Mrs Crab was number 1. Fellow Yelpers, once again, you nailed it! Super fun, super casual place with great nautical décor. Once you enter, you know you're in for a seafood feast. We walked in and were immediately seated. The service was excellent. Hostesses were friendly and accommodating. Ken, our server, went above and beyond. We had never eaten seafood boil before and had no idea what it was. The menu is big with plenty of choices. We ordered a "Pick Your Own Boil" with shrimp, clams, calamari, and muscles boiled in spicy Mr & Mrs Crab sauce. Ken let us know that spicy is super spicy, so we toned it down to medium. Thankfully, we did as the medium was fire and fabulous! With every pound of seafood you get potatoes and corn. Couldn't figure out why we got gloves and a bib and then came a giant bag with the boil inside. So messy, so much fun and so out of this world good. This is now on my "must go" list when in Gainesville and I'm so happy, I just realized this is a chain and there's one in Ft. Lauderdale too.

We got shrimp and scallop Orleans, stuffed shrimp and blackened red fish. Everything was served hot and at the same time and all very good. We all got collard greens and they were excellent. My only minor beef is that the blacked fish wasn't very spicy. Still great though. Service was very good. Great spot and best prices I've seen anywhere.

The wings were flavorful, well-seasoned, and hit the spot, and the fries were crispy and satisfying, simple but solid. That said, when my friends' seafood boils came out, wow. The smell alone was incredible rich, buttery, and seasoned perfectly. I couldn't resist trying a few bites, and I'm glad I did. The potatoes and broccoli were especially good, soaking up all that seasoning, and the seafood itself tasted fresh and well-cooked. You could tell this is really where they shine. The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and it's definitely a fun, casual spot to go with friends. The atmosphere feels laid-back and social, which makes it great for group dinners. While my non-seafood order was good, seeing (and tasting) the boils made me want to come back and try a full seafood meal next time. Overall, a solid spot with great flavor, especially if you're a seafood lover. I'd absolutely return and next time, I might just give in and get my own boil.

When you have a job you can't wait 45 minutes just to get your lunch. They are constantly understaffed and say they aren't and blame it on random affairs. We kept having to ask for essential items to be brought over, like food that we were missing or cocktail sauce and crackers for the oysters. Our drinks never got refilled even after asking. Our server also didn't clear our plates after we were done with the apps and first round of oysters so our table ended up piled high with dirty dishes. We witnessed multiple wrong orders being delivered to tables, patrons asking more than once for things, and discounts being doled out for poor service. The servers, manager, and kitchen don't seem to communicate and are forgetful. Every single table in our section was complaining about the service. The ambiance also feels dated, and not in a charming way. On the bright side, our calamari and fried green tomato appetizers were pretty good, though! We came on a Thursday for the $1 oyster special. The oysters were on the smaller side, but thats to be expected for $1. Wahoo could be a really great restaurant if they had better service and a facelift to the decor, but for now, we won't be coming back. :(

The place was pretty much empty, but it seemed like we were forgotten about until maybe 15 minutes after being seated, when a server happened to walk by and asked if anyone had taken our drink orders. I ordered an Old Fashioned, knowing I was taking a risk ordering that kind of drink in this kind of restaurant, but figured if it was advertised on their menu as a specialty cocktail, they'd be good at it. I figured wrong--it was not good. Started with a small Caesar salad, which was fine, if a bit overdressed. For an entree, I had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccoli as sides. The ribeye was underwhelming, not particularly well seasoned and not an especially good cut of meat. The potatoes were really unimpressive, having an odd taste and definitely not very garlicky. Hate to say it, but I can get a better quality steak and sides for less money at just about any Longhorn in the country, as much as I dislike national chains. Shout out to Taylor, who ended up being our server. She was fantastic, even if it seemed she was stuck covering half the tables in the place on her own. I'd also add that the menus are on iPads. This is just silly, and barely a step above QR codes printed on the table. I don't want to tap through a bunch of screens to figure out what I'm going to eat. Give me a real menu to page through. It's much easier to flip back and forth to reference what I want when I'm ordering rather than trying to navigate through a digital menu. I wouldn't place this restaurant high on my list of places to revisit next time I'm in Gainesville.
