We stopped into St. Augustine Fish Company for a drink and something light to eat, and I'll be honest, this one started out looking like a three-star review. We began with a bowl of Rick's All Day Seafood Soup. It was fine. Just fine. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing that had me ready to start writing poetry about seafood soup either. The decor also struck me as pretty average. So, in my mind, three stars seemed about right. Then my wife got involved. She ordered the beet salad, and apparently I had failed to consider the possibility that the meal could improve dramatically once her food arrived. The beets were large, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. The feta added exactly the kind of salty, creamy pop that took the salad from "healthy choice" to "hey, this is actually really good." At this point, my wife reminded me that I needed to judge the entire experience and not just the bowl of soup I had chosen. And, as usual, she won. So, four stars it is. The seafood soup was average, and the atmosphere didn't exactly knock us over, but that beet salad was exceptional enough to change the final score. Sometimes the wife has the better Yelp review. This was one of those times.
I had been referred here by a colleague who comes to St. Augustine annually. St Augustine Fish Camp is one of his go to spots. It did not disappoint. Servers were good and the food was delicious. We got a gator tail bites appetizer and it was so good with the dipping sauce. Excellent choice, our main course was the pork chop with parsley potatoes and fries. My wife and I shared a meal and it was a lot to eat. Very good tasting food.
We came here for my birthday dinner with my parents. We had a reservation and when we checked in we were taken back to our table. Our server was super nice and when I asked about a specific pillar menu item not showing up on the menu, he said he'd check to see if he could accommodate my request (cod with a brown butter sauce and grits). He went back to check and they could, so I knew what I was getting. We started with the fish bites which were pan fried and over crispy potato straws. They were delicious! Next our meals came out. I loved my cod with the brown butter sauce and the grits. Delicious. My dad had the same thing and loved it, my mom Loved her oyster and clams dish, my son loved his chicken fingers and fries and my husband enjoyed his fish sandwich. We'll be back!
In town for a few days with my grandkids. Wanted some fresh seafood so decided on Fish Camp. Excellent food. I had peel and eat shrimp. Natalie, the server said my grandson could do the seafood boil for 2 for just 1 so he got that and really liked it. Granddaughter had chicken tenders (yea, goes to a seafood place and gets chicken) but asked for honey mustard. Natalie said they didn't have it but she could make it for her. That was great service. And granddaughter said it was really good too.
Nice ambiance--very casual with a great view. Semi-off the beaten path (from the downtown historic district) but worth the very short ride. Also, compared to our other dinners during our vacation this was an excellent price point. Clam chowder was good. Tuna was good but the entree as a whole left something to be desired (it was really just the tuna and some greens and half an avocado, not very filling). Star of the show was the grouper and the goat cheese grits, absolutely delicious and came out hot and fresh. Would come back just for this dish.
Happy to get a reservation at my "must eat at" restaurant. We had an 8pm and called to check if we could come in earlier and the delightful Emily said yes your table is ready! After some confusion we asked for the high top in the bar area and were seated promptly. Emily was wonderful checking on us and Don our server bartender kept up the hospitality. I had already decided based on menu and reviews what I would have and the octopus and bean salad starter was a must! Tender octopus, savory dressing and beans went well with our cocktails. The entree for me without hesitation was the grouper over goat cheese grits with corn. Oh my! Crispy crust flaky moist fish. My husband had an amazingly huge pork chop with a maple bourbon bacon sauce with vegetables and potatoes which was perfectly cooked. Very busy place with an army of servers and noise level high but we didn't mind. Great place great staff great food.
Super solid spot for good seafood dishes! Got the: - clam chowder: sooo good & flavorful, a bit potato heavy but i didn't mind it - crab chowder: full of crab, great flavor, very rich - oysters: nice & plump - gator bites: flavorful & chewy with datil sauce - fries in beef tallow: soooooo dang good - shrimp & grits: grits were nice & cheesy with juicy shrimp - blackened seafood platter: nice way to try a variety of seafood, but the fish & shrimp were overcooked and the potatoes and veggies were under seasoned our server alexa was amazing, overall the dinner was a bit pricey tho - might try other seafood spots before coming back
St. Augustine Fish Camp has a fun atmosphere and overall was a decent experience. The espresso martini was definitely a highlight and was smooth, well balanced, and a great way to start the meal. Service was friendly and the place has a lively vibe that makes it enjoyable. The only downside was the steak, which was chewy and had more fat than expected, so it did not quite live up to the rest of the experience. That said, I would still come back to try other menu items, especially for drinks and the atmosphere. The potatoes and vegetables were delicious and they made the overall meal better.

A slight spice was noted with the mahi that added to the overall flavor. I ordered the potatoes as well and with a little hot sauce, were great. Enjoyable fresh fish restaurant with backcountry favorites.
Great place to sit outside overlooking the water with delicious seafood. Especially enjoyed the low seafood boil which had more food than two of us could eat. Fried fish dish was very generous. Blue crab soup delicious but a little expensive ($10 for cup). Oysters fresh with nice sauces and condiments.
Our server was very nice. No wait sat outside. Lots of food to much food. You can share for sure. The food was hot and well seasoned. Now for the bad. A lady came and sat on deck with a very large dog. Our waitress brought the dog a bowl of water and spilled some on her hand as she continued to serve us without washing hands or at least from what I seen. She brought several bowls for the dog while serving us. The dog was jumping with his wet mouth on the table I could not finish eating after thinking his nasty drool was on the table where we eat. Very inconsiderate of the customer and the establishment. That took my experience to a very low rating. Then the bus boy was cleaning another table goes over pat the dog with the cleaning towel in hand and continues to wipe down the table again no hands washed for sure! Nothing about this is clean. If you choose to touch your dog and eat, that's your choice, but it's not fair for the servers to touch the dog and then serve customers and that's not OK. Being clean is very important when dealing with food and that was horrible experience and with that I will not be returning my husband was equally as grossed out.

This visit was a birthday dinner -- nine couples, big group energy -- and they handled it flawlessly. Table ready early, bar team killing it (get the High Tide -- it's basically grown-up Kool-Aid and dangerously good). Dinner? The pork chop with a bbq cherry reduction was delicious -- tender, sweet, smoky perfection. My husband's gorgonzola special leaned rare, but the sides were on point and the service was even better. Bonus: complimentary valet, perfect pacing, and a server who actually got it all right. We ended with espresso martinis (two with Baileys, one classic) -- smooth, strong, and the perfect mic drop to a great night. Sophisticated but chill. Consistent every time. Whether it's a date night or a dinner for eighteen -- Fish Camp delivers.
A beautiful restaurant on the waterway! Make sure you make a reservation because they go quickly but first come first serve is out side under the covered patio or the high tops inside. The employees were super friendly and kind with smiling faces and very helpful! The food was super yummy! we started with gator bites and ooooh they were perfect. The trout was crispy and delicious with a deviled egg sauce on top. The linguine was exactly what I was dreaming of - Not too spicy at all but they will lower the spice. We love Fish Camp in Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota, so we thought we would try the one here. It was just as busy as the others and a wait for those without reservations. Fortunately we had a reservation, however, we were seated at the least desirable table (next to the bathrooms). Maybe put a party of 4 with a reservation there, but not a couple with a reservation. Yuk. Noisy too. We were able to move to a quieter location and enjoy a nice meal. The service was ok and the food pretty good although dissimilar to the other locations. It is worth going to if you haven't been before and you can enjoy a drink on the deck while you wait for a table. Dogs are allowed outside just like the other locations, which is a plus. read more

We sat at the bar and bartender was very friendly and managed her customers well. We started with the Gator Tails appetizer which was cooked perfectly with crispy outside and tender and juicy inside. The sauce pairs well with the bitesize pieces. Next we had the Shrimp & Grits which was amazing. The grits were creamy with a white wine butter sauce that sent it over the top. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. My only recommendation is a piece of garlic bread would be a nice side with it. Cool water front vibe. We will recommend this place to folks visiting the area. We will make it a definite stop next time as well. Wonderful!!!!! read more

I went to the Fish Camp restaurant after I got into town after a tiresome drive. It was near my hotel. I just wanted a decent drink and a good meal. (TLDR/spoiler: I got both!) There had to be 20+ people waiting to be seated. I asked how long the wait was going to be with no reservation on a Friday evening. They said all tables inside were already booked for the night; however since I was alone, they offered the bar as first come/first served seating. (Yes, you can get entrees at the bars.) I chose the smaller of the two bars. There were a couple seats available. (This was early around 5:30 pm on a Friday.) It had a very relaxed vibe: chill and fun! The bartender was amazing and attentive, even with so much going on. (Wish I took note of his name.) I got the Hot Mama drink which wasn't overly sweet and had a nice kick of heat! Loved it! Very well made! (The bartender told me before serving my second one, later, that he didn't think it was as spicy and he was willing to remedy that, but I didn't ask that of him.) I ordered the crab cakes for my entree. I traded out the regular vegetables for tomatoes & okra. The food was fantastic! The crab cakes tasted delicious! Not as "firm" (breaded) as a crab cake I usually get, and so much better flavor than usual! The potatoes were cooked exactly right. Not underdone and not mush, with a perfect amount of butter: lots! The tomato/okra dish had a really nice smoky-ness to them and the perfect amount of seasoning. I left, not only filled, but happy! I only ate half my meal, it was so filling! I later ate the rest as leftovers and they held up deliciously! I highly recommend this spot for great food, drinks, fun atmosphere, and it's right on the water! Do make a reservation if you are more than a party of 1-2 who don't want to sit at a bar! I can only imagine the wait, but well worth it. read more
We visited Fish Camp on a Saturday around 8pm. We had a reservation and sat on the patio with my hound dog. We started with the fried okra which was very good. I haven't had okra that's left the full length and fried before, and it was super nice! The sauce was a little thin and didn't add much to it. For mains, I got the shrimp and grits. I didn't realize that the grits had goat cheese and I was a little disappointed since I don't really like goat cheese, but it was still pretty good. My only real complaint is that the shrimp seemed to have their tails removed, but still had flakes of shell on them. My companion got the trout. It was cooked really well, but I was rather confused by the "deviled egg sauce". It was really just a couple hard boiled eggs - not even deviled. The service here was pretty good, but I wasn't overly impressed by the food so I'm not sure that I'd go back especially when there are so many other great places to eat in St Augustine. read more
We didn't make reservations but we were able to get a table on the patio. After reading the reviews we were very excited to dine here but that quickly turned into disappointment. My cousin's margarita wasn't good so she switched to a whisky sour. The potato wedges didn't have much flavor. The rest of the meal was average. I was not impressed. The view was beautiful and everyone was super nice I just was not blown away by the food. read more

Me and my sister made a split decision to come here for lunch after visiting the cat cafe around the corner. We were seated immediately and had a nice view of the water. I am a vegetarian and I was super disappointed that there was not a single adult entree that could even be made vegetarian. Everything is also fried in beef tallow which takes my usual French fry option off the table. I ended up getting a kids grilled cheese and coleslaw. When I ordered it, the waitress slyly stated they don't ever allow that but since she is doing it for me we should tip her well. Girl I wouldn't order it if there was an adult option I could get! And I know what you're going to say, well if you're a vegetarian then don't go to a fish place, but not everyone in a party is usually vegetarian. It's 2025 there should be a no meat option. Luckily my sister was happy with her food, and the grilled cheese was good. Probably won't return due to the lack of options. read more
We had reservations for a large group with children. We were able to get parking for all three cars and we're seated quickly. Service was friendly. Seafood was fresh and the steaks were juicy. Reservations recommended as this place is very busy and there were many people waiting to be seated. Free stickers at the hostess stand. read more

A fun and lively atmosphere. Lots of bar seats, some high top tables, regular inside dining, and a large outdoor eating area. Waitstaff was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive. Food was above average. Bread pudding for dessert is a must have. Check out the daily specials for some really interesting dishes. Prices were average for the area, but reasonable in my opinion for seafood. Great experience and will return. read more
We were welcomed by a warm and friendly hostess. The place has such charm and positivity. Kyla was our server, I needed assistance ordering a cocktail, she recommended the Staycation. It was so perfect. Rick's soup was the best crab bisque I've ever had. If you read past reviews you will see I consistently order that soup. Ok I have to write about the dessert. Cranberry bread pudding with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. It was truly orgasmic. I can't say enough positives about this place. We drove 90 minutes to get here and it was worth it. read more
I really enjoyed this spot! Oysters were great and not fishy and the vinaigrette they serve with them is tasty! The fried green tomatoes were hearty but, I feel the batter flavor was off. Maybe it needs to be more Italian forward but, I'm guessing they use the same fryer for everything so maybe that was it. The toppings were great. The mango hot sauce at the table is really good! Try it. Fries were good and nice drink selections. The covered patio with heat lamps were great:) I do wish they had more lights on the back patio so you could enjoy looking outside in the evening. Definitely a busy spot. Wait time wasn't bad though. And they have their own parking lot and free valet if you want it. read more
Five stars is not enough for the wonderful food, drinks, and service you will experience here. We have eaten beee twice. The first time was good and we knew we would be back. The Ice Plant (one of our faves) was closed so we made same day reservations for here. It did not disappoint. Blue crab chowder, pimento cheese appetizer, special (Flounder), Snapper, and Linguine were some of the best dishes we have ever eaten. We drank some bourbon and had an old fashioned and other specialty drinks. Amazing dinner and we will be back. Highly recommend! read more

Fabulous, lively spot with a private parking lot and free valet (bring cash to tip). Be prepared to wait or make a reservation. On a random Tuesday night we got lucky and only waited a few minutes to be seated at a high-top table near the bar. Our server was super friendly and helpful and made lots of recommendations. One tip - bring a sweater, jacket, or sweatshirt - the air conditioning is lovely but I was under a blower and ... brrrrr! For drinks, they feature a different cocktail each evening. I opted for the white sangria - refreshing and delicious! Coming from Knoxville, Tennessee, home of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, of course we had to try the fried gator! It was seasoned well and perfectly crispy on the outside. Tasted like victory (go Vols!). The beet salad was delicious. It's the kind of beet salad with a good bit of greens to it, making it filling enough for a light meal if you aren't terribly hungry. I tried the trout - and really enjoyed it a lot. Again, it came with a serving of arugula along with smashed red potatoes and some garnishes / sauces. Very nice. My daughter loved the seafood pasta dish with a little bit of several kinds of fish including little neck clams, shrimp, and scallops. We can also recommend the chocolate mousse cake for dessert! read more
Really nice dinner, quite creative specials. Blackened snapper is on the menu, but as a special with red peppers, onions poblano's, etc. was off the chart. Amazing! The breaded fried chicken with Tasso ham gravy was good, and I really enjoyed the collard greens and grits that were with it. So, it is the fish camp, so stick with something like that to be wowed. The food was fantastic! We ended up going twice! The clam chowder was my absolute favorite. The catch of the day both times was perfect. Not overcooked. We sat outside and it was hot but definitely bearable. The drinks were fantastic too! read more

I would recommend fish camp over and over again. You can never go wrong with what you choose. Fish sandwich is a crowd favorite for a reason and the fried clams are amazing. The greek salad was the surprising favorite of the night. I have gone back again just for that. I will always recommend their hush puppies and the gator tail. Those dishes are the epitome of southern food in Jacksonville and they do one hell of a job with them. Just go here! I can't say more simply Tip: it can get noisy inside so ask for an outdoor table if you're lucky. You can also pull your boat up for a nice lunch or dinner. read more
Food was amazing. Special was Blackened Flounder over Jalapeño Grits, Fresh Trout was awesome, Crab Cakes were awesome. Fried platter was cooked to perfection. Started out with bowl of chowder. I was able to get half red and half white chowder mixed!Bar drinks were spot on!!! Service was best I've had in months!!! Lorrin was the best server!!! Best I've had!!! Made our night!!! read more
