Fantastic staff, happy animals, well-kept facilities...what an incredible day we had. It feels like a dream. Easy day trip outing with the family or as a date- book your animal experiences online like we did at https://www.bluehillsranch.com . The staff was flexible to shift timing of the experiences so we didn't have to wait long in between- they were extremely accommodating and we never felt rushed either. The otter swim/playtime experience was originally what drew us, and it was even better than I'd imagined. Worth every penny! Then we got to feed and pet the capybaras, which were way friendlier than I thought they would be! The babies enjoyed some extra belly rubs too. Bottle feeding the kangaroo was so fun too- little Dundee was SO soft and loved all the pets, even gave us kisses! The giraffes were super friendly and greeted us every time we were nearby; feeding and getting quality time with them was an extra treat. The safari ride tour was also amazing- 5 of us fit comfortably and got to feed/see lots of animals that we wouldn't normally get to experience. We were surprised at how this place wasn't crowded at all in the middle of July when it is peak vacation season, so it really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. They also have a beautiful main lodge area that is comfortable and welcoming with additional animals to enjoy.

The young lady working the front --Janai--was so helpful and kind. An amazing asset to their organization. We discovered Alexander's has the best bread pudding that my friend and I had ever had. My only complaint is breakfast was not at the house. I was looking forward to the continued ambiance of the house.

The clawed tub is very charming that will whisk you away back in time. You'll definitely get a great night's sleep on the bed because it is very comfortable. The sheets are made of unmatched quality are fit for a king and queen. We liked the sheets so much we actually bought a set for our king sized bed at home. We've had the pleasure of meeting Jason, Katie, and Neil the owner and they've made us feel like family while here. When you stay here you definitely have to check out the Shed restaurant and Alexander's. The food at the Shed is exceptional we did the sampler plate, burgers, and cheese curds. They were great. You'll also want to eat at Alexander's on the property at the Inn as the food is phenomenal. We did the beef tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection along with the crab cakes and autumn bread pudding! If you're not staying at the Inn on the Creek you're missing out. Breakfast in the morning was stellar as well the atmosphere and people have been great. We definitely tip our hats off to all of the staff we've seen, and those working behind the scenes. You're taste buds will thank you once you eat at The Shed and Alexander's as their food is to die for! If you've haven't booked a stay here you will be disappointed if you go anywhere else. I had just texted my dad for the code and the owner pulled up next to us and yelled "If you don't know the code, Then you don't enter!". Then we proceeded to explain what was wrong and just backed up and corrected ourselves because another car was coming out and he jumped out and walked over to yell "Yall are not coming in!". In short, nice lady at the desk but HORRIBLE Owner! Watch out for him.

They have an on-line booking but we couldn't see a place to request a pull-thru or to get any offered discounts. We made the reservation on-line after several dropped connections; unsure if it's my cell service in Lufkin or their line. We booked a back-in site since no pull-thru sites are available for our stay. The confirmation came by e-mail quickly. I searched the Garmin GPS for the address and it took awhile to find it. Try address number 10502 and street name FM 2410 in Belton TX if you also have trouble. It would have been nice if alternate directions due to construction on the Interstate were in the e-mail but we skipped a few exits and came back on the other side. Our first visual impression is positive. We checked in and one guy gave me backing up directions that got me right into the spot. This was very helpful for me since we've only been RVing for 5 weeks and prior to that I'd never towed anything. The roads are asphalt, the pads stone and the picnic table pads concrete. The picnic tables are nice. The water pipe is insulated. Wi-Fi is slow at times. There's no local road traffic noise and an occasional distant train. They have a playground, dog park, sheltered (roof and three sides) picnic area with five tables, kids pool, hot tub, some outdoor exercise equipment and Amazon Lockers. It appears they are expanding.

The explanation from the owner was, "when it rains the rats come inside." That aside, the mattresses and bedding are horribly old and uncomfortable. How one of the reviews for this place(which is from four years ago) could possibly say that the bedding is lush and comfortable is INSANE. The a/c was also not on when we arrived so it took well over an hour for the cottage to become comfortable. I was also very afraid to use the jacuzzi tub as it was dirty with yes, more rat poop but the nozzles also looked dirty and who knows how old that tub really is so a bath was forgone. They don't send a confirmation email of your booking even though I was told twice I would receive one and beware of substantial additional charges that are not disclosed up front. Our stay ended up costing over $100 more than expected because of those extra fees. The cost of staying here is an absolute joke for the accommodations which are dirty and highly uncomfortable. Another guest who stayed when we did reported a similar experience. I don't know how they are staying in business because anyone that has the experience we did will certainly never come back and I hope that the people who read this find any other housing option, this place is not worth your money. There are plenty of other B&Bs with great location close to the shops and will not ruin your trip.

The indoor Pool area is warm but hot tub was not hot unfortunately. (Not sure if we could ask to turn up the heat or not). The tiles in the pool area are slick when wet and easy to slip on so be careful. We did notice someone maintaining the pool during our stay so that is nice to see. Breakfast was nice and clean/organized well. The hot coffee/tea/hot chocolate was a nice treat through out the day. Rooms were clean and bedding smelled like laundry. Bed is not too comfortable but the pillows are thankfully. Fridge was not plugged in when we first got into room but that was an easy fix, just a little inconvenient since we had some food items to transfer from our cooler bag. The heat and AC both worked great with no issues. Our bathroom plug in sockets were super loose so trying to blow dry/straighten my hair was a pain. I wanted to add that the housekeeping ladies were great with our stay and always asking if we needed anything for our room.

We were moved to a different room, which had a different surprise found when waking... a petite purple butt plug by the night stand. I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry at this point. The least they could've done is thrown it in a dishwasher and put one of those "sanatized by Lysol" stickers on, but we also discovered those sticker don't mean anything... see the picture of the attached remote.

At first the TV in the bedroom and AC was not working, but the hotel staff quickly resolved the matter. Everything else worked fine. It was a full sized kitchen with medium sized refrigerator, microwave, sink, range, dishwasher but no oven. Paper products like paper towels are not provided along with tableware, drink ware and plates. There was also a small bar area with it's own sink. The hotel has WiFi and found the AT&T 5Ge (LTE) signal was very strong. The room was very clean and smelled nice. We had a corner room and views of the hotel next door and main road in front. The hotel also has an ice machine outside the door (could not hear it in room), indoor pool and spa, washer/dryer, and a pantry store at the lobby. Breakfast was served in the morning and enjoyed coffee, eggs, sausage and biscuits. The food was good. Felt safe staying there. The location was perfect where we just walked to the Cadence Bank Center and not deal with parking.

The staff is really friendly and they greet you right when you walk in this hotel makes you feel comfortable. So off the bat great customer service the hotel was very clean and I even had a a great conversation with the house cleaning supervisor we ended up being in the elevator together. She was really nice. The room was kind of small, but it still got the job done. The pool area was my absolute favorite. It has a Jacuzzi and a pool and a back patio with chairs. The pool area was clean as well, and so is the gym area. I would have gave this hotel five stars if I could flush my toilet in my room that was my only problem with this hotel. But next time I come, I'm sure the problem will be fix but like I said this hotel is remodeling , so I'm sure once it gets up and running properly things like that shouldn't be a problem. Customer service was 10 out 10 I will definitely come back
