Chef Toni is absolutely amazing. She is the owner and chef. I am beyond impressed. This is a hidden gem for sure. We each got a glass of wine, and Toni basically gave us a whole tasting of Lebanese wines. She is extremely knowledgeable about wine in general. The food was next level. I have never had middle eastern food but this was a great introduction. The only minus is that this place is NOT kid friendly, and you absolutely must call ahead and get a reservation. Chef Toni was actively turning people away who did not have a reservation because she simply cannot fit more guests into her restaurant. There are no kids menus, and I don't even think there are high chairs. Toni did try to accommodate as best as she could- she made our entrees shareable for our toddler and she made sure he had extra pita bread! Chef Toni offers a "chefs table" experience, starting at $95/person, chef Toni will ask you some questions and curate a menu specific to your desires / dietary needs. Recommended by a friend who saw their segment on Bay News 9 in the Tampa Bay Area. Very busy little restaurant when we stopped in earlier this week for lunch. Good prices, delicious falafel appetizer well worth $9. Hubby had a tabouli salad that was excellent, my chicken shawarma wrap was messy but was quite tasty. I can't stop raving about Chef Toni's amazing creations!! And further proof that I have good taste (LOL) is the fact that she has just been nominated as a 2026 semi-finalist for a "Best Chef of the South" James Beard award!!! This is the crème de la crème of restaurant awards and Cedars Cafe is worthy of the accolade. The food is outstanding, uniquely tuned to each ingredient but still leading you gently towards the other dishes on your table. How Chef Toni manages to do that every single time is beyond my understanding. But it happens consistently even as the menu changes periodically with seasonal variations sometime existing for only a week or two (ie ramps). This is also a zero-waste kitchen which is absolutely amazing considering that they are open 5 days a week for both lunch and dinner. Went to wickham park and wanted something close but different! Was so glad we decided to check out this tiny little cafe. Off the bat we noticed how incredibly clean the restaurant was. Very small space and it was incredibly busy with only one table open inside. Only one server was there but she did a great job tending to all the tables including a large group next to us. Friend had the falafel and he said it was one of the best he'd had. Grape leaves tasted great also. Entrees did seem priced a little high so we opted for wraps. The beef shawarma was perfect albeit a little too much sauce but tasted amazing. Will stop by again for sure. read more

The food is awesome! Today, when hubby and I visited we ordered a lot, but some we were taking home for leftovers and for our son. I ordered the sumac salad for the first time and it was delicious! (Sumac is a Mediterranean spice that is lemony. ) I also ordered the lentils and rice with garlic sauce on the side, it's one of my go-to's here for an appetizer! I also ordered the 1kebab kefta platter with vegetables, oh yummm!! My husband had the grape leaves for his appetizer, and ordered a 2nd set of them to take home, he loves how the chef makes them! He ordered a beef schwarma wrap and a chicken schwarma salad. His wrap fell apart, since he could only hold it with one hand today ( he had hand surgery earlier today, hence difficulty!). He really liked both of them! He's had the wrap before, but first time with a schwarma salad. Great lunch to be had! We really like the atmosphere in there! I'm really upset I hadn't tried this place sooner! The service is friendly & warm, they converse w/ u while they bring your drinks. The food doesn't take long. It's fresh & flavorful, my 7 yr old enjoyed the food as well. The portions are nice, the prices are reasonable. For 2 people we spend about $25 w/o alcohol. I love how they serve the drinks, you get your own personal refill. The Tzatziki sauce is wonderful w/ the falafels. They only offer one size of tzatziki but she made an exception & brought me a smaller size. The falafels are the perfect texture w/ plenty of flavor. The mushroom hummus was the best I've had. It's a weekly special, I'm hoping w/e to come will be just as delicious. The Greek salad was fresh, I would like a few more peperoncino & cucumbers. I do wish they had sangria. Stopped in here one day because I hadn't eaten all morning. Got a Chicken Shwarma wrap, it was delicious! It was a little different than all other Shwarma wraps I've had....I love Mediterrean food. The garlic sauce had more of a brown color, rather than a white garlic sauce. It was divine!!! I look forward to going back when not so rushed and try some other dishes. The main courses were pretty good but way overpriced for this type of fare. The stuffed grape leaves were the worst I have ever tasted and should be 86ed from the menu. The pita was stale. Overall the food was pretty good but not worth the prices charged. The indoors has 7 tiny tables with really cheap plastic chairs that look like they come from Target and are not comfortable. Atmosphere is zero. The service was quite good. Overall I left less than impressed. read more

We have been here before and enjoyed it. We really appreciated the staffs attentiveness and friendliness. It can be difficult to find good service these days. For dinner, we had the Shish Taouk, it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Adequate portion too. We felt the price was a little high for the entrée though. That is, compared to other higher end restaurants. However, I don't want that to take away from how delicious the food and service was. They were very authentic, which is why many people enjoy coming here. We opted for a pistachio nougat style dessert, I, unfortunately cannot recall the name. The consistency was excellent and the flavor was on point. Although sweet, it was not overly sweet. We highly recommend it. We look forward to coming back again to try another entree. Especially since they can appropriately and safely prepare food for those with Celiac. Note: I have never had a ill reaction eating here. This place is a must if you are a true foodie and you are looking for great quality cuisine. The food was amazing plus we got the added bonus of speaking with the chef. The menu does change and the chef has must try items on the menu that are seasonal. We highly recommend calling ahead of time or make a reservation because there is limited seating. Our orders were the cheese roll ($3.50 each) and the Fungi Jon Mushroom Hummus ($15) to start. The Fungi Jon Mushroom Hummus was phenomenal and a seasonal item. I would order that over and over again. My wife got the Shish Taouk with seasonal veggies ($25) and I ordered the small Pam Salad with chicken ($15). Both dishes were fresh, great portions, and so flavorful. The chef really puts her heart in soul in everything here. We will definitely be back for their tasting menu rolling out soon this month. Cedars Cafe- Lake Washington-5-Stars Quickly becoming a local favorite, this gem of an eatery is beginning to make a huge splash in the local culinary scene. As with most fine dining joints (Cedar's is more casual, but the food is not), Chef Toni changes her menu with the seasonal availability of the freshest ingredients. As we have cruised on past summer and are now in the fall months, I thought it would be a good time to revisit a new favorite and see what Chef Toni did with her traditional, yet eclectically mixed menu. After being seated, I hungrily listened to my server rattle off the seasonal specials and began to drool. This should be extraordinary based on what my ears were telling my palate. After a few moments taking it all in, I asked for an order of Artichoke Shawarma, Fennel Apple salad, White Yam fries, Beat salad with goat cheese, Haloumi cheese, some kafta and an order of chicken thighs in a shiitake mushroom sauce. Relaxing in the pleasant atmosphere it seemed only a moment had passed when my server was soon approaching with my food. Setting it down before me, I drank in the beautiful artistry and scintillating aromas spiraling towards the ceiling as I reached for my tools of gastronomical destruction and got to work. After one bite of the Artichoke Shawarma I knew that once again, Chef Toni has hit a home run. After using the outside of the Artichoke for another dish and wanting to be a zero-waste kitchen, Chef Toni took the artichoke hearts, through some shawarma spice on them, and plopped them on some freshly made hummus. The tastes were extraordinary. The Fennel Apple salad is a misnomer as it should read Fennel and Shaved Apple salad. With thin shavings of apple over fresh greens, fennel, fresh mint and a "secret" ingredient of orange blossom water, this salad was out of this world. Used to cleanse the palate between courses, it more than served its purpose In pursuing the freshest ingredients, Chef Toni often comes upon once in a blue moon opportunities from her local sources. Case in point, white yams. Obtaining just a few of them from a local farmer, Chef Toni worked her magic and turned them into fresh white yam fries served with an herbed, homemade tahini sauce that was a sheer delight on the palate. They were like no fries I have ever tasted before. Moving on to the most pedestrian dish, if one can call a goat cheese feta and fresh beet salad with homemade pomegranate vinaigrette drizzled over it, pedestrian. With farm-fresh beets and real honest to Athens goat cheese feta this was amazing as well. It seems that Chef Toni never misses. She must, she is only human, but I have yet to catch her off her game. After a few bites of the salad, just to make sure I had the taste down, I turned my attention to the grilled Haloumi cheese. While this is a traditional middle eastern dish, Chef Toni took traditional and turned it on its ear. With some almond dukkah seasoning and fresh local honey drizzled over it, this cheese was a far cry from the stuff I grew up on. Talk about scrumptious! While the Houlomi cheese was a far cry from my childhood, Chef Toni's take on kafta brought me right back to it. Grilled in the oven, topped with fresh hummus with tomato and onions and topping a freshly made pita, this went straight to the little boy inside the Big Boy and made him very happy. With a delicate blend of herbs and spices, this dish alone was worth the visit. Sadly, this brings me to the last item up for review, the Chicken thighs in a shiitake mushroom sauce. What can I say about this without sounding like the proverbial broken record? Using locally farmed mushrooms and chicken, this dish taste farm-fresh and danced across my taste buds. The sauce was delicate, subtle and full of flavor while the chicken was tender, juicy and had to have been alive just a few hours earlier, it tasted that fresh. A great place for a wonderful meal This restaurant is located in the shopping center on the northwest side of the Wickham and post road intersection. It is at the far north end of the center next to the Panera. There is plenty of parking. There is seating inside and out. The inside is very pretty and done in dark wood flooring with very comfortable chairs and glass tables covering tablecloths. We were greeted and led to an inside table within a minute of entering. The waitress took our drink order and offered us menus. It is a one-page menu that advertises the modern Mediterranean and Lebanese food. They brought us a basket of cut-up pita-type bread while we were deciding on our meal. They have everything from Foole to falafel for appetizers and shish Taouk to Falafel for entrees. I tried the Chicken Shawarma. It was done and delivered within about 20 minutes of when we ordered and it took me 10 minutes to eat the salad that was part of the meal. It was a very large portion and was absolutely delicious. You could tell that there was one person that was taking care of all the tables but she was amazing. I got the check as soon as I asked for it. The price was a little high ($23 for the dish) but well worth it from my point of view for the amount, taste, and service. I would highly recommend this place to my fellow travelers and would recommend the Chicken Shawarma to eat. read more

First of all, my wife and I have visited Cedars Cafe many times over the past few years. The food is always amazing and the service has always been been great. With a very friendly staff. We went for a late lunch on a Friday and had a unusual experience. We were seated quickly and we ordered some wine. A couple of appetizers, and a salad to share. Everything was fine, and the server brought out a dish. We started to share it, and then she brought out the appetizers and salad. A few minutes later she returned, grabbed the first dish and said it was a mistake and took it away. We were a bit surprised, since it seemed rude to just take it without saying much else. When we asked her. She just said that she took it because it was a mistake and she wasn't going to charge us. I think she should have just explained and apologized for the mistake instead of just taking the dish like it was our fault. We felt a little insulted, and I'm not sure she ever understood that how she treated us was bad customer service. Like I said. We love their food and generally love their service. But it may be a while before we try it again. read more

Delicious food!!!! I had the Veggie Platter and loved it. Could have easily been dinner for 3-4 people. Nestled besides Panera. Small and a little too close for comfort on the inside, but I enjoyed sitting outside at the tables on the sidewalk. This isn't something I normally say, but it was overpriced for the entire package. Again, I enjoyed the food, but the service (while friendly) was slow...very slow. I waited 15 minutes before I got water. I would've liked a refill on my wine, but was never asked. Just because the price didn't match the environment or service, I would probably not come back.
