Cedars is our go to spot for their lamb gyros. Been going there for years. More of a large wrap than pita. But good portion for the $, well seasoned lamb with onion, lettuce, decent amount of sauce. Best lamb wrap/gyro I've found in Berkshires- and I need that meal desperately sometimes. Carryout orders call ahead by 20 min. Very nice owners. This is a small convenient store. Inside you will find many interesting packaged foods and delicious prepared food. Beef and lamb shawarma was my favorite. Tawook dinner was good as well. Fried kibbeh and falafal is kept in the display, and both were mediocre. Their garlic pita chips is phenomenal. I had it with gaucamole. Maamoul cookies were really good as well. Once in a while I am in the neighborhood and I try to stop in. Today I had Shish Tawook: grilled chicken with slaw, a greek style salad, thin pickle spears and a super yummy garlicky spread. The chicken was tender and juicy and mildly spiced. It had just the right amount of browned crunchy bits. I dipped chunks into the garlic sauce and it was sublime. The salad was tomato, onion, shredded lettuce with crumbled feta and a tang of vinegar. Everything was fresh and tasty. The slaw was crisp and the pickles were sour and crunchy. Every bite was a mixture of texture and flavor! I also tried a fruit soda that I had never seen before. It's taste made me think if you had a coconut flan and then drizzled a hint of berry flavor. the meat was dry, at least mine was, i recommend splurging and getting the $20 plate, one the meat was much better and fresher, much more rice and over all good look, my plate was the one with the pita on top. the meat was sliced. they cooked it and sliced it after cooking so the meat got extremely dry. the portions are big, but i mean for the price they should. overall okay experience. read more

I noticed a young man smoking Shisha to the right of the entrance door as I approached the market, drawing closer I asked, "What are you smoking?" He replied with a smile " Hookah", "Yes I know but what flavor, apple?", I asked. This time with and even bigger smile, "Double apple" he replied", he immediately handed me the pipe, aaah, I knew I had arrived at the right place. Inside is a small market with many Mediterranean food items, the meat counter had ground meats, steaks and a goats head with bulging eyes and protruding tongue. There was a nice selection of refrigerated Lebanese prepared foods, I selected a small container of hummus and a small baba ganousch. There is a grill area in the corner of the store serving Shish Tawook , Shawarma, Kibbe, Felafel and other typical Lebanese fast food items. I asked the young lady at the register if that was her brother outside, "Yes", she said " Did you like the Shisha" she asked, "Yes, very much" I replied, she smiled proudly and said, "I made it myself". Is there any lingering doubt about the authenticity of this little Lebanese market? Well, if there is, then let me dispel it immediately, the baba ganousch was absolutely superb with a depth of roasted smokey flavor rarely encountered and the hummus was equally as good. So, this is tough to write. These folks make great food.... I've been very satisfied with what I've had, but out of 4 orders (Via GH) they've been at least an hour late delivering on the first three, and the last one got cancelled an hour after I placed it. All this despite living literally 9 minutes from them. I don't know what's going on there, and I would love to get their food, but it seems like they don't want to deal with delivery? Very weird in this current climate. That said, their Tabouli is second to none, the Baba Ghanoush is amazing, the Hummus is terrific, and other stuff has been pretty darn good as well. (I could honestly live off their Tabouli as a staple of my diet. ) I just wish I could get it. read more

This time it was my turn to visit team Vega - minus one, but we managed to try some of the meat pies (Sfeehas) and it was absolutely incredible. This place is good if you don't know a good, fresh meat shawarma. They use processed gyro meat which is salty and basically formed into a block of "meat". Think McRib. The chicken is real chicken and it's good, but I enjoy a real beef Shawarma. I don't like falafel but I've heard that it's home made and really delicious. If you want a real beef Shawarma I recommend Janna's in West Springfield. And you will see the difference. You will never want one from Cedars again. read more

My family has been going here for our Mediterranean goods for years. We recommend Cedar's constantly to friends and always pick up food for dinner. The food is amazing but the customer service is some of the worst I have ever experienced on multiple occasions. My Lebanese grandmother was neglected while asking for help in the store, my mother was given a constant attitude when asking questions about their products in their case, and have been ignored multiple times. Unfortunately, my family will no longer be doing business at Cedar's as we feel very disrespected every time we have a conversation with anyone behind the case. read more

This weekend some friends and I, hankering for Lebanese food, decided to stop in at Cedars Food Mart & Grill based largely on the positive reviews here on Yelp. I'd found the place here on Yelp several weeks ago, noticed the good reviews, and visited their nicely designed website to investigate more. Finding the store proved a bit difficult as we apparently have no idea where the hell we're going. That was our bad. When we finally found Cedars (it's on the side of the Armory St. rotary closest to Mercy Hospital) it took us a while, and a lot of browsing through the exotic products that adorn their shelves, to decide what to order. We ultimately settled on two Shawarma, a lamb Kebab, and Kibbe, which we ate right in the parking lot. Everything was fresh tasting and delicious. The meat, vegetables, spices, and sauces were all just right. I literally INHALED my Shawarma and immediately wanted to order another. We all left full, happy, and promising to return to Cedars soon to try more food off their grill and purchase more Lebanese delights from their store isles. Next time I'll be ordering a large Shawarma and a Chicken Tawook as well! For fulfilling a jones for Lebanese fast-food, or for stocking your shelves with exotic Middle Eastern groceries, there's no better place in the city than Cedars. read more

From jars and cans of specialty imported items, to spices, an in store butcher, dairy and frozen foods - they have a great selection. At the front of the store there is also a small counter offering prepared/grilled items. Everything I have tried so far has been great. Surprisingly large selection of hooka and shisha as well. Thank you Yelp for this great recommendation! It is one of those places that I probably would never have walked into and if I did, I would think to grab a pack of gum, not something from the grill area. I'm pretty sure I would have been frightful that it was like those hot dogs that turned and turned at the 7 Elevens and gas stations. No such thing though. The food was freshly prepared and quality. I got the falafel wrap and the falafel had great flavors and crunch. The description said the wrap included "pickles" inside which I learned are pickled parsnips, not American pickles. Thanks to the gentleman I ordered from, this was quickly cleared up and I am SO glad I did not miss out on these crunchy, yummy, colorful bites. It was super filling too. My only complaints is that it was a little bit salty and the falafel wasn't warm at all. I'm not sure if it is because the falafel is not freshly fried or if it freshly made and just got cold because mine was the first made. I grabbed some shawarma gyros for my co-workers as well and they reported that it was delicious. Better than the shawarma we get at Tower Square's Food Court (LeGreque). I also grabbed the Fried Onion Burger for another coworker and she let me have a taste. The burger was flavored in a way that I was not expecting. It not definitely not a regular American burger. There was also a sweet-ish sauce on it. It wasn't bad but not my personal preference. The portions are all very large and we were pretty full after. Great value. I also grabbed some hummus (fantastic...even our meat-lover in the office enjoyed it) and baba ganoush (I loved it, but not the meat lovers. Very smoky flavor). I also got their in house large flat bread. It was yummy but a bit chewier than pita bread. Not exactly what I was expecting. Also got their tabbouleh which was very yummy. Very parsley and good lemony balance. These items were in the back left fridge area where I wandered to while the sandwiches were being made. They were with some other items I hesitantly declined to get this round (stuffed grape leaves, fattoush, and more...). Looking forward to coming back and trying some more. Come here for a killer lunch or dinner...and/or if you're looking for hard to find Lebanese, Mediterranean or middle eastern spices and brands. read more

Came here on a weekday evening for dinner, we have recently moved into the neighborhood and decided to check it out. It is very easy to not realize this place is here as it is somewhat hidden within a building and the area where you order food looks like a simple counter at a convenience store. The store itself has several aisles of candy, baklava, and other items that you just can't find easily in other parts of the city, which is a major advantage to stopping by here in my opinion. They also sell hookahs, supplies, and tobacco and have a decent selection of all of those items. We ordered food, and because there is only one gentleman working for the entire place (preparing food wise), it took a very long time. The staff were polite though and encouraged us to call ahead next time so we don't have to wait so long. It gave us ample time to browse though so it was far from the end of the world. The menu is quite expansive. One of my biggest complaints is the difference between the "sandwiches" and the "dinners or plates." My friend ordered a sandwich, and I ordered the same thing but a plate and the difference was around 5 bucks price wise with very little difference in quantity of food. The plate came with fries, a few slices of tomato and a couple of pickles...definitely NOT worth the 5 dollars extra....just get the sandwiches in the future! The sides are also incredibly overpriced. We got a small container of hummus and tabbouleh and while they were good, and homemade, it was definitely not worth the 6-7 dollars a piece we paid for them. I'd definitely return here for a sandwich or hookah or snacks, but probably skip the rest food wise. read more

We are new to the area and we have been here a few times and are impressed with the good quality Middle Eastern Food served here. There are pre-made meals and items as well as fresh food here that you can take with you to go. There is no seating area inside to dine in. So, you will have to take your food to go. Everything tastes fresh and the receipes that they have are very good. Lebanese Style primarily here is served here and the staff is very nice and there is plenty of parking here. They are located right at the Armory Round About and just down the road from Mercy Hospital. Also, they have a very fine selection of Middle Eastern Groceries, from fresh meats, spices, even nice fresh Pita Bread, etc... Stop by and enjoy a nice meal to go or wonderful prepared food items that you will surely enjoy. read more

This place!!! Everything I've had from this place is amazing. Located in a small convenience store the "kitchen" takes up a small corner, but the food that comes out of it is next level! The fresh made sides you can grab out of the cooler like hummus, tabouli salad, grape leaves, exotic drinks and juices. It also doubles as a Lebonese market that has a lot of yummy foods I've stumbled on getting experimental. Being a new vegan, it is hard to find a good healthy food options that I can eat, this place never disappoints. I love this place. So far, I have had the Lebanese burger, and the mixed grill. Both were really good. However, I would say the grill was the best of the 2 meals. The food isn't your typical Lebanese grill. The owners recipes are a combination of Lebanese influence and his own imagination. It's not the boring menu options of "kabob with spice, kabob without spice, rice, bread, and humus". When you bite into his food; the originality will hit your taste buds immediately. This place puts it's local competition to shame. This place is my ONLY Lebanese spot. All others within 50 miles is bland now! All this talk has me drooling for the mix grill right now!!! Because it is in close proximity to my workplace, this is an ideal grab n go establishment. They have a variety of middle eastern food. I have purchased their chicken schwarma from their grill made to order. I am hoping they someday offer healthier option than the french fries like a healthy salad, tabouli salad or hummus on the side. The food is tasty, fresh and very filling. Don't be turned off by the fact this is essentially a convenient store with a grill, the food is bountiful and freshly made with lots of flavor. The hubs loves the beef kebab dinner and always has leftovers. I love the specialty foods they carry, especially the British chocolate bars! I am so disappointed in this restaurant. just ordered $8.99 Baked Kibbie ( got called at the last minute and it was going to take 1 1/2 hr. to prepare) cancelled haven't seen it reflected on my debit card yet. $15.98 (2x) Spinach Pie Appetizer (6) menu says Spinach Pie Appetizer (6) $7.99 Spinach, onions and feta cheese, hand-folded in our homemade dough. NO CHEESE! and the spinach tasted as if it was pickled. $8.00 (2x) Add 1 Chicken Kabob No veggies at all and I could get more chicken from a KFC kids meal. Delicious sandwiches, very decent and fulfilling size as well for only $7. I am Lebanese, and rarely find the authentic taste but did find it in this place. You can find lots of sweets, groceries and middle eastern items in the aisles. I live in Westfield, MA and that is the only reason why I don't visit so often (kind of far for me). But anytime I am driving by, I make sure to stop by and visit. The only thing I wished they had is a table or two inside for people to sit. Most of these reviews must be written by the Baki's themselves. Food is VERY GOOD, no question. Everyone advertises bitlawa as baklava I'm perplexed, big difference and they sell Bitlawa (Syrian not greek). Servings are ridiculously small, prices are much higher than a Convenience store/small market should be and they shouldn't be. Ingredients never appear on any Arabic made dish (is that even legal). Purchase by date for arabic dishes (and other stuff) can be purchased by three weeks later, so one enver knows how old food is. I throw out frshly prepared food after a week in my refrigerator which is set to very cold. Absolutely these positive reviews must've been written by the staff. The family. FOOD IS FANTASTIC THOUGH! You also do not speak a foreign language on and on and on in front of someone who does not understand that language (Arabic), it is rude in America. We are in America are we not? This place is a hidden gem. I've only had the Shish Tawook, but it absolutely delicious (creature of habit here). I stumbled on this place when I passed up on the Subway next door because I never noticed that they served food and figured I'd see what they have. I'm really glad that I did.
