We stopped in Cedarwood Saloon on a Monday around 6. It was 105 degrees outside and way too hot to cook! the place is set back off the road behind another business so pay attention or you will drive right past. It definitely gives old saloon vibes with wood paneled walls and tables. it was pretty empty with one tall table on the right side taken a low top on the left and a 4 or 5 people at the bar. The service was friendly but a little on the slow side. It was ok with us as we weren't in any hurry. Hubby had the Taylor Dog with tots, he said it was delicious and we might be taking a little drive to Cave Junction to buy some direct from the makers. I had the french dip and it was probably the best one I've had in years. Plenty of shaved beef which actually tasted like beef and had a smoky taste. The Au Jus was really good also. Our Daughter had the Wally Burger and she said it was also good. Beers were 3.00 a pint on happy hour so you can't ask more than that. We will definitely be going back to try more items from the menu and take advantage of the happy hour. read more

I have no idea what I did in the time it took me to walk thru the door 3 steps to the video poker machine i sat at and put a dollar bill in next thing i know the owner walks up and tells me "You have to get outta here!" (as he looks back at his buddies sitting at the bar like , you guys see i have the power here but nowhere else in my sorry excuse for a life.) i proceed to ask him what it is i did wrong in the 2 mins i been in here to get myself kicked out he just says " I am the owner and you better leave" (like he was trying to threaten me or some failed attempt to intimidate... ) long story short i believe he had a problem the the color of my skin me being a YOUNG BLACK MAN so heads up if you are colored of any sort you most likely will be kick out for no reason shitty person no doubt (B.L.M.!!!) read more

Pulled pork sandwich was one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. No sauce. Also, pork was sliced, not pulled. Bun was dry.

They do a good job here the staff is always friendly and the food is always good. The burger is huge and the make a great philly steak sandwich. If you like brisket they make a good French dip sandwich as well. Lots of beers on tap an great drink specials. read more

I've searched high, and I've searched low for another place to get AWESOME fish tacos; The last place I had fish tacos this good, was in Traverse City, Michigan, and that place has since gone tits up. :( Cedarwood Saloon is the current reigning champion of fish tacos in my book, and many a fish tacos I've had in my search since that icy Michigan morning in 2000. Thanks to my dear friend Ben for bringing me to Cedarwood Saloon my first time. Grants Pass was my first stop on my road trip from Seattle to Santa Cruz, and Ben knew exactly what my tummy needed to keep me rolling down the highway. Although I only ate the fish tacos at Cedarwood Saloon, the other items on the menu looked super good as well. They have 15 beers on tap (there were some local brews that I've not seen in Seattle!! YAY!!)! We sat out on the back covered patio for a wonderfully relaxing afternoon. As well, they have lots of games inside, the joint is AIR CONDITIONED, the staff and other patrons were super friendly with me and to boot, the prices were outstanding! I really liked the interior of the place too; I felt like I was in an old western saloon! Now I just need to get my rear back to Grants Pass so I can have more fish tacos! Nice little bar. Excellent food! Had the pulled pork sandwich special on a "pub" bun. Tasty, smoked pulled pork with plenty of flavor and juicy too. Good French fries and plenty of them. Coleslaw was mediocre. Fry sauce was flavorful with a hint of horseradish. Mixed drinks were mixed well. I will be coming back again soon. read more

10-15 minutes wait just to order fried food. No late night menu, look through the regular menu and pick out the fried items to order. Then the bartender asked what the other bartender served me. Do you not communicate or at least put orders in the computer? Total shitshow, won't be back. read more

Wow, talk about entering an alternate universe. This was a really crazy, backwoods bar. They had a horseshoe tournament outside, and a country band playing inside. The bartender Mike is the best ever! It seemed like all of the staff was very friendly and cool. This is a fun place and I had the highly recommended fish taco which were delicious! The owner, employees & local customers treat you like family, and when you have been on the road for a long time, well it means a lot. It makes me wish I lived there so I could drink there all the time! After reading Matthew F.'s review I could kick myself for not eating there too! I stopped in to watch my Cowboys play, they had flat screen tv's everywhere and even a Cowboy fan besides me! My husband and I drove in a huge circle across the U.S. and believe me it's extremely tough to find a bartender who will even say "hello" much less "where are you from?".
