From the ambiance to the food everything was on point. I was shocked to find out this little gem has been here for 4 years! I hope they get more business, they deserve it! I ordered the New York Strip Steak and my husband got the Korean BBQ Pork Belly and they were both mouth watering good. I am always up for a good steak and this did not disappoint, Chef cooks it rare but I'm a medium person and it was cooked to perfection and still tender. The Chef gave us a small sampling of his Shrimp chowder my husband was going to order it but forgot and oh my goodness it was packed with flavor and so delicious. They gave a an area for large groups and some smaller rooms for a more intimate setting, we were in a room with 2 tables for 2, I loved the privacy. I needed a quick snack and called ahead, "yes the lounge is still open!" Sweet! I strolled in and was greeted immediately by a friendly hostess. Shop to the left, lounge to the right (chill lounge music, no W lounge or elevator tunes), and restaurant to the back. I suggest getting a reservation for the prix fixe menu because if the Chef's board is any indication of the quality then *chef's kiss. The stout mustard has a chocolatey aire and the paté is perfection. I am NOT a paté fan, at all, but this was delicious. I also ordered the drink special, cantaloupe daiquiri...fresh cantaloupe puree and a recipe designed in-house (all of the special cocktails are unique!) I will be back. We went with my 91 year old uncle and his 75 year old wife. And ended up in a room that gave us a lot of privacy and quiet setting for a "catch up" type conversation, which was great. The server was very kind and attentive. And down to earth, not sterile as nicer restaurants can often be. All of us youngsters (3 x 50-ishers) really enjoyed our meals. However, I'm not certain that this type of food appealed to the less refined palates of our older guests. WOW! THE DATE NIGHT SPOT! Presentation, 10/10. When a menu is crafted around "made in house, seasonal" you know it's going to not just be good but quality will be superb! The food was perfectly seasoned. The staff was on top of every detail. We ordered the "Dangerous Pearing" & "Fog Cutter" Cocktails and they were AMAZING! Not to sweet and perfectly crafted. Four of us went to dinner and chose the fine dining menu. We loved the private side rooms that you can sit in. It was very cozy. Each course was absolutely delicious. The halibut was perfectly cooked, one of the best I think I've had in years. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly. I wish I would've taken pictures of all the food. We stumbled across partake after eating a wonderful dinner at a neighboring restaurant. We had a couple of wine snobs with us, one being an 82 year old man who sold wine for 30+ years. The event we stumbled in upon was a pre-member event at the wine tasting side. FYI this business has the storefronts in the same area. Wine, cheese, small plates and cocktails. They were very knowledgeable about the wines served and the small plate pairings were perfect Tonight was our first night at the cocktail/small bites lounge and we were extremely impressed. The staff was wonderful, attentive but not overwhelming. The cocktails were absolutely delicious. We also tried the pickle small plate, the banh mi, and the brussel sprouts. Superb presentation, extremely tasty and prompt. I love seeing local businesses like this hitting the proverbial ball out of the park. Couple that with amazing staff who as indicated in my intro gave our elderly, but extremely knowledgeable grandfather a shot to socialize and discuss the wine sales he was so fond of in his prime, thank you all. Really cool wine shop and lounge. We are part of the wine club, so much fun. They chose a new region each month. The food on the lounge side is fresh and delicious! We have tried a few flights and several menu items. Everything always comes out exactly as described. I love that they use gluten free bread from a Organicos. The service has always been top notch! For our special celebration, we chose the Omnivore Tasting Menu and enjoyed fruit compote, soup that warmed me up on a chilly night, braised vegetables, scallops, quail, venison, served beautifully and in relaxed fashion. Chef Wolf creates delicious main course dishes served with delectable sauces and reductions. The tasting menu includes wine pairings, carefully selected each month. We stopped in to check this place out after bookmarking it a couple years ago. We travel to this area a couple times a year and I am happy to say it's going to become a favorite place visit with friends and to pick up a unique bottle of 2 of wine. Looking forward to dining here when we pass thru again. I also want to hang out on the clubby lounge area which has a cozy and at the same time, elegant vibe. I imagine sitting there with a glass of wine chatting with friends with cool jazz playing softly in the background. We did the summer wine tasting which had some delectable summer offerings (Pinot grigio, chenin Blanc, etc) and ordered the tasty cheese board. We were so impressed with the wines they presented. They were all unique, flavorful and worth the price! ( Each was $20 or less). The staff was helpful, friendly and totally into sharing their enthusiasm and wine know how. There's no other place quite like this in GP or the surrounding areas that I've seen. Hands down one of the more intriguing places to open up in a while! Their wine shop is well curated and Tim is always spot on with his suggestions. Great price points as well. The cheese shop is right next door and one of the few places in town you can get a proper selection of fine cheeses - finally! You can buy a bottle of wine from the shop and take it over to the lounge/restaurant (which is really cool option) or order a crafted cocktail directly from the bar. The menu is designed for sharable plates and they nail it on the fondue and weekly specials (try the beef stew if they have it up again - OMG YUM!) The intimate space is so different and great for small groups or even meetings. This place should definitely be on your radar if you're looking for a different type of evening experience! read more
