So as I do, I'm going to give you the straight-up view on this place…read more Let's start here. This is not Cuban food. Not even close. The owner was sitting there while we were there, and to be clear, she's Colombian, not Cuban. That matters when you're claiming a Cuban spot, especially in South Florida where people actually know the difference. Now the coffee. I ordered a colada and it came out ridiculously sweet. I'm talking over-the-top, almost undrinkable. We had to reorder it with less sugar, and they didn't even offer to replace the first one. That alone tells you a lot about how they handle things. Then the Cuban sandwich. They put mustard and mayonnaise on it. Let me say that again. Mayonnaise. On a Cuban sandwich. That is straight-up wrong. As a Miami native, I'm telling you, that's an abomination. If you grew up around real Cuban food, you already know that doesn't fly. And if you're defending it... I don't know what to tell you. Lol. Look, I'm not trying to be harsh for the sake of it. But when you call yourself Cuban in a place like South Florida, there's a standard. This place doesn't meet it. Unless you've got nothing better to do, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for "Cuban" food.

It was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, bringing instant comfort with every sip. The beef empanada was absolutely delicious. Each bite was packed with flavor, seasoned just right, and wrapped in a perfectly crisp pastry. It truly felt like being back in my grandma's kitchen on a Saturday morning, surrounded by warmth, love, and incredible food. If you are looking for authentic flavors and a genuine cultural experience, Cuban Cafe delivers beautifully.

They made me feel welcomed even though this was my first time here. Great customer service This restaurant is very small inside. It had a small sitting area outside. The parking was a good size. The color outside made it easy for me to find the place. Look for a yellow restaurant. I ordered fried pork it came with rice and beans. I added tamates and yuca. I liked the meal. I love Cuban food. It tasted good to me. The price was good. I left happy.

Everything is made fresh to order, so yes, there's a little wait, but the flavors make every minute worth it. I've tried the Cuban sandwich, the croquettes, and the pulled chicken with rice and beans, and not a single dish has missed. The seasoning is on point, the meat is tender, and the bread... listen, the bread is unbelievably soft with that perfect toasted finish. Portions are generous too I never leave without leftovers. The place is clean, cozy, and has that "real, local spot" charm. The staff is always friendly. There's a slight language barrier sometimes when ordering or paying, but it's nothing that gets in the way of the experience. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. It's one of those spots you don't forget.

We were greeted by the gracious Owner made sure we were seated in a table that we liked, and then immediately we were brought freshwater and a complementary alcohol free Mojito, which was absolutely wonderful. When our dinner was delivered at first glance, it seemed as if the servings were small. And they are too small to share, but as a single meal, it was completely satisfying. It came out warm, fresh and plated beautifully. My sweetheart and I were in the mood for dessert so we ordered the bread pudding and we were going to share it, but when the waiter brought back a dessert, it was two servants courtesy again of this gracious Owner. Define a spot like this a true oasis in a busy, noisy Jody Plaza with white tablecloths and a gracious Owner and beautiful artwork I know for sure that we will be back to enjoy more of their delicious food!

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the owner himself, who is incredibly kind and welcoming. He takes the time to talk with you and recommends dishes he thinks you'll enjoy, which made the experience feel very personal. As a Cuban-American, I've eaten at countless Cuban restaurants, and this is the closest I've ever come to food that truly tastes like my abuelita's cooking. Everything was that good. In fact, my husband and I loved it so much that after going for lunch, we ended up coming back again for dinner the same day. The ambiance is warm and home-like. You'll hear Andrea Bocelli playing softly while you sit surrounded by the paintings on the wall and soft lighting, which makes the whole place feel cozy but still special. It was also my husband's first introduction to Cuban food, and I couldn't have asked for a better place for him to experience it. I'm honestly surprised this restaurant doesn't have more traction because it absolutely deserves it. If we're ever back in the area (we were here for our honeymoon) we will definitely be returning. I would recommend Mario's to anyone and everyone looking for authentic Cuban food and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. You will love Mario and every item offered here!
