I'm not really sure what else you're expecting from a relatively small branch - this probably isn't the place you'd go if you need to set up a mortgage or something. It's really somewhere you stop by because you need to deposit a check or something and you also have another errand to run in Pacific Commons. Hours are kind of bad though - closes super early on Saturday, which is presumably when most people are running errands at Pacific Commons. Realistically, you'd actually stop by here if you were stopping by Pacific Commons for a weekday lunch. I believe the nearest Chase will now be somewhere on Mission, so good luck during rush hour when everyone floods it and you're jammed up with cars trying to get between the 880 and 680! Not going to be pretty!

I was looking for a counter that was on the left side, hidden. A person working in the cube saw me and turned his face away. Ok, no worries. Then I found the main counter area, and there she was, Ms. Nasifa, who greeted me with a smile. Sometimes that's all that matters to receive positive energy and a smile. She helped me with cash, and she said it's a beautiful day today. Reminds me of my favorite movie dialogue. "Today is a good day." Each of us represents our workplace, whether you are at home or not. I mostly used this account for bill pay as I had a monthly 401 distribution going there. A couple of months ago I paid a bill and when the receiver said they didn't receive it I argued that it had cleared my bank. When after waiting a bit to see if it was their mistake (it wasn't), I called Fremont bank and the rep said they would stop payment on that check and issue another one. When I got billed a $29.50 late fee from my HOA I called FB again and asked that they reimburse me for that fee. The manager's stand was they deduct the $$ from my acct when they SEND the check. I argued that it should NOT be deducted from my acct until the check clears. He refused to reimburse me and said he would have the branch where I opened the account review it and call me. I never received a call and I honestly can't believe their way of paying bills and how they handled this. Good riddance Fremont Bank!

However, I started looking to refinance immediately. I have had financed cars with Patelco Bank before so I decided to go back to them. I went to Fremont branch there I met with Madhuri. Very sweet and yet professional in her work. She gathered all of my information and told me I will get a call. Sure thing! She called and said Mr. Singh, we were able to bring your interest score down to 6.6%. That's more than 2 points drop and more in future. So, If you need to refinance your car. A simple question took him 30 minutes (3.05 pm to 3.35 pm on July 13th, 2026) to answer because he had to do research. He was super slow in even responding to a simple 'yes' or 'no' question. Every time I speak with anyone in Patel Co, they are not aware, provide incorrect information, and you must be someone who has a gene for patience and are willing to spend a looooong time on the phone. Then you must also have a persistent gene encoded in your DNA to call back several times to check if the information was correct because it likely may not be. It is just a nightmare dealing with them.

Whenever I speak to a banker, which is very seldom, they always try to sell me on transferring money into a higher yielding savings account. The higher yield is only a tenth of a percent higher. On my most recent encounter they explained to me that I wasn't earning any interest on my savings. Silly me, I hadn't been watching Wells Fargo rates. So I transferred most of my savings out to Chase Bank, where I am earning a higher interest rate, If it wasn't for the convenience, I wouldn't bank there. But the ATM machine at the San Felipe location is made for midgets under 4 feet 6 inches tall. And I strain my back every time I bend over to see the screen. Or usually I have to kneel in front of the ATM machine, because the only ATM at that location is designed for handicapped people in wheel chairs or extremely short dwarf people. I will gradually move my money out of that place.

However, when I walked around the corner to step in line I saw 12 people in front of me and as I left there was an even longer line. When, I arrived there were 3 people working, but sortly 2 and then 1 with still 8 or so people before me in line. We were told everyone was on "lunch" this was over an hr past their "lunch" hour. Bank of America has the worst staffing in general, so if you are going to let your employees take a lunch whenever don't display "lunch hours" when they are not accurate. Many people in line were angry and complaining, because not only myself but others attempt to go to a bank when they know there are people in fact working. I doubt anyone in the line would have been there knowing the "lunch whenever we want" policy. I get it, banks are busy, they are understaffed, but this has to be sorted out (nationwide) if you want to maintain your customers.
