I went to Visage because it was recommended by a friend. When I got there i got the feeling that I should leave but I felt that after making the appointment I should stick with it. BIG MISTAKE! Although I brought a picture with the hair style I wanted. I got nothing like it. The hairstylist looked at the picture and looked and kept on looking at it. Even she asked me to send her the picture to her phone. Which I did. Well, I got nothing like the picture, she cut way too much!! although she kept looking and looking at the picture I brought!! The hairstylist said she's doing this work for something like 27 years? It's noticeable because I got and old hair style cut. I know I won't be back. The place is ok. Nothing to brag about. Is average. They do overcharged for what they offer. That wasn't and issue for me. I just didn't get what I asked for or what they promised me She knows that my hair, before she put her hands on it, was beautiful. I was happy with the way it looked I just wanted a new style NOT to have it chopped it all!! I heard Super Cuts have good hairstylists for a fraction of what Visage charges. Something to think about. I always go to Kelly and she is amazing!! She has been doing my hair since I was in second grade!! She is wonderful, makes amazing conversation and cares about her clients. It is an upscale salon, so the prices reflect that. I've gotten highlights, haircuts, single process colors, and glazes. I've come back many times since my last review, and the experience continues to be a five-star one for facials and eyebrow shaping with Steph. I came about a month ago to get a facial and my eyebrows done by Steph, which was a first. My eyebrows never looked better after she was finished with them, and it was the first eyebrow wax I've ever gotten with 0% pain or any irritation afterwards. I can't speak more highly about how personable Stephanie is. I hadn't been in the salon in a while, and she remembered things about me as a person, which goes to show how much she cares about her customers. I have been a loyal customer of Ray's since I was 14 years old. It has now been 24 years and I still go to his salon. Since Ray's days are normally booked, Bee (not sure if I spelled her name correctly), cuts my hair. I love Visage. I believe each and every one of them know exactly what looks best with what kind of hair and the shape of the face, etc. I donate my hair every other year to Locks of Love. If you want your nails done right, get them done by Danni Sue at Visage Salon in Oradell . She's competent, friendly, and a true nail artist. She's also meticulous and precise. I've gotten around 4 mani-pedi's done by her now and am so glad I found her! Recently, I took my husband in because he was complaining of pain in his toe. I couldn't see anything, but Danni Sue did. Great place and impeccable service! Since 2002 I had cuts and styles by almost everyone in the salon and my hair always gets compliments. If nothing else, the exclusive European hair colors they use give you TRUE colors that does not shade, rust, or loose color even if you go to pool, swim in ocean and sunbathe at the same day. I didn't get my hair done here, but bought a Groupon as a birthday gift for my mother-in-law. Her colorist and stylist was Roberth. He took his time coloring, cutting, and conditioning her hair. He only did her roots and the coloring was supposed to be for the full head of hair (so not sure why he skimped on this part). While I waited they offered me coffee, tea, or water. Very friendly staff and they look to do a very thorough job. Definitely recommend them and I would make an appointment as they were quite busy on Friday afternoon. My mother-in-law loved her hair after and really enjoyed the treatment, but I don't think she'll be back for full price as they look to be expensive. read more

I love this hair salon. All the stylist are super friendly and love that they use Aveda products. Though I'm sure all the stylists are amazing I can only speak on Kristen. Can't tell you how many compliments I get when she does my hair. Went to her throughout my entire pregnancy for a blowouts. I used to live in River Edge and kept visiting even after moving to North Bergen, this past Feb, I moved to Roxbury Township. Definitely too far for me to visit. Only reason I even kept coming back was for Michelle. She's amazing, friendly and talented! I love her to pieces! I don't actually like the salon vibe, lots of stuck up people and the staff don't seem too welcoming to me either but I would go for Michelle and nothing else. It's nice inside. Seems like they expanded their services to include spa stuff. I had Michelle do my hair for my own wedding in 2014 and another special wedding last year. I used their makeup trial and was not impressed. She didn't seem to understand the idea of natural and simple makeup for my wedding. I don't wear makeup regularly and didn't want to seem out of my usual self. Used someone else for my makeup. Overall, sad to be so far now. read more

I had a groupon for a haircut and highlights. The haircut was average. Not great, but not the worst either. The highlights were horrible! I asked for subtle. That's far from what I got. The stylist walked away and came back to check the foils and said, "oh my, you lift very quickly". My hair was styled and I left. After I got home, I looked closer in the mirror and was shocked. The highlights started 3/4" from the roots. They looked like they'd been grown out for a month and were so drastic they looked like tiger stripes. I couldn't even wear my hair in a pony tail because the stripes looked so ridiculous. I called the manager and booked an appointment to have them fixed. She was indifferent in her attitude at best. The same guy put a glaze over the highlights to tone them down and I left with wet hair. They didn't even have the decency to dry my hair. I will never go back. The manager never came over to look at how horrible the work of the stylist had been to start with much less to see if everything was better before I left. She could have cared less. read more

The spa upstairs is relaxing calming and the therapists really know how to make that experience wether it be a massage, facial or nails the best. I went to this place several years ago to have highlights. The owner did them and he is good but he was not nice at all. Everytime I went to him i left in tears, he was insulting and not friendly. He wasn't very nice to his staff either. I had to stop going and just ended up paying more money somewhere else just so I din't have to leave feeling like a peice a sh*t. What a great experience! I may become a loyal customer to Dana at this salon. Always at first I wasn't sure what to expect, they had me in the waiting area for a good 15 minutes even though the salon wasn't busy at all. Guess the front desk forgot to tell the stylist I was there. I used the groupon deal for a single process color, cut and deep conditioning treatment. After that waiting time, the experience got better. Offered coffee right away during the initial consult which was everything I could want. Dana is very knowledgeable and personable and catered to what I needed. Even showed me the samples of hair color options for what I was looking for, made suggestions, described the tones and told me exactly what it would end up looking like on my dark hair. Very professional is how I can describe the salon and specifically the stylist, Dana. She kept an eye on the time and checked up on how the color was taking on my hair. When it came to the deep conditioning treatment, she even told the woman who was shampooing to not put me under the heater since my hair follicles were already opened and it may be more damaging than good. (good call!!) Cut was great also! Almost made a bad decision to cut off more than I really wanted since hair looks longer when wet, and thankfully she voiced that if I wanted to keep it long, I should cut off the dead ends and freshen up the layers. (good call again!!) Overall I give this salon 4 stars and not 5 because of the initial unnecessary waiting time, however service was very good. read more

I just tired this Salon after wandering like Ahab for 18 months since my stylist retired after 21 years in Ridgewood and liked it. Lauren was my stylist and she consulted me taking time to explain the color options for my hair then what i wanted for my cut. The color was a bit dark but Lauren pointed out it takes a few visits to tweak the formula so the color is customized for you. I liked the texture of my hair (after the color) and the cut cleaned up a mess (result of too many bad cuts). And the best was the cost was 40% lower than the last 3 places I went in Ridgewood! read more

I just moved to the area from NYC. Any woman knows how hard it is to find a new hairstylist. Found this place on Yelp and took my chance and I'm glad I did. I needed to get my color overhauled, basically, and Dale came to the rescue. She salvaged my dull old hombre and brought my hair back to life with a caramel balayage and glaze. She took her time to make sure that I was going to like my hair. I ended up I loving it! I got a lot compliments from friends. My first impression of the place when I walked in wasn't great. Kinda shabby dusty - Very few clients - staff did not look professional or very put-together . Then while I was waiting for my appointment, a woman with her hair full of dye walks up to me and greeted me as my stylist. So while she was working on my hair, she was getting her hair done: that was a first. My hair cut was good, but no one took care to keep my clothes dry. This is my first visit to the place. I had a groupon for a facial and a mani/pedi. Both of the women I dealt with were very sweet and very nice. Enjoyed both services and my daughter had a pedicure as well. It seems like a nice neighborhood salon with able people working there. My only complaint would be that I wasn't asked alot about what I do at home prior to the facial nor did I get any suggestions afterwards.
