At approximately 8:55 PM, a pharmacy staff member in a blue uniform approached me and informed me that the pharmacy was now closed and that I would need to return another time. I was given no opportunity to be served, despite the fact that: 1. I was physically present and in line BEFORE the closing time. 2. The excessive delay was caused by the transaction ahead of me -- not by any action on my part. 3. I was not warned at any point during my wait that I might not be served. 4. No reasonable effort was made to accommodate a customer who had been waiting in good faith. This is not simply an inconvenience depending on the nature of the prescription, a refusal to dispense medication to a patient already waiting in line can have serious health consequences. Turning away a customer who arrived before closing, due to a delay the customer had no part in creating, is both a failure of customer service and potentially contrary to your own service standards.

The drive through is great only if you're the first or second car, but not necessarily so if they're understaffed at the time you're there. 2. Biggest complaint in addition to the wait times is that someone will call saying the prescription is ready but you get there, and it's not. 3. Not Walgreen's fault but there are often homeless people hanging around the premises and sometimes panhandling. Also be aware that when the Tustin Brewery or other businesses across Newport Blvd. have no parking, people will park at Walgreens and walk across the street.
