I came here with a friend on a Thursday evening. The Wine Bar was packed but we got a seat at the bar. The establishment is located in a large house with a cozy, eclectic feel. It reminded me of something you would find in Cleveland Heights, which is a nice find for out in the middle of Stow. There is lots of seating, a beautiful old fireplace, and the ambiance lends itself to a date or a night with close friends. I ordered a glass of moscato that I felt was reasonably priced and we shared the small cheese and fruit platter and the spinach and Asiago dip. They had a huge selection of wines to buy from lots of wineries all over. The cheese and fruit plate was small for the price and the cheese was just cut in three big pieces. We had to try and chop it up ourselves. I think it would have been nicer if it had been sliced since we were sharing the plate. The amount of fig jam was also quite sparse. Maybe 1.5 Tbps. And 4 or 5 slices of apple. The dip was delicious and bubbling hot when it came out. My only complaint here is that the delicious flatbread that came with it wasn't enough for all the dip. We asked for more bread and were told we could buy more for $3 or they could give us some cold baguette. We opted for the baguette which wasn't nearly as good with the remaining dip. The dip definitely needed to come with more pita, however, the server brought out some bread to dip with it upon request free of charge. We came here shortly after they opened, and were greeted right when we walked in. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the slightly rainy slightly sunny day. My wife got a glass of wine and I got an old fashioned. My drink was really good, for me one of the main things for an old fashioned is it better not have one of those cheap bright red cherries in it, better have a good cocktail cherry. Nice relaxing spot with good service. We did not eat while there but my wife said she was here with friends before and the food was good. Made reservations for a group of 6 for a friends birthday. They were able to easily accommodate us at a large table outside. The wrap around porch is beautiful, a perfect place for outdoor seating. The menu is small but they have a lot of great things on there! I love that you can get "sips" of the wine, small tastings before you know what you want. But honestly, get 3-4 sips as they are about $3-4 each and you're set! Also go for the cheese board and pizzas if you're with a group, or without honestly. Cellar 59 is one of our go-to's. I guess we'd consider ourselves regulars now! Max, the bartender, is so incredibly knowledgable about wine that sitting at the bar and asking for recommendations & tastings becomes a full experience. We bring friends & family all the time so they can get a glimpse of his ability to suggest the perfect wine for your tastes and palette. My husband & I like to tell Max what we're in the mood for and have him pick, then tell us about the region it was grown in, the soil, the vintage and the vineyard it came from. You'd pay for that type of experience most places! His selection is incredible and they've really expanded their food menu. I was really impressed with my first visit to Cellar 59. I'm married and will never have a first date again, but for those single guys out there: this is your place. The ambiance of this spot is top notch. They did a really good job with the renovation. It's a place where you feel hip and fancy drinking at. The table we sat at looked like something you'd find on HGTV. There are two rooms inside, one a little more lively with a bar, the other is a little quieter. The music playlist was right up my alley. Always love hearing a bunch of Avett Brothers songs. They have an absolutely stunning wrap around porch I want to come back in the summer for. The wine selection is obviously the attraction, but they have cocktails and beers to choose from as well. My wife loved her sweet bourbon mixed drink. The wine flight was $14 and came with 4 different glasses. I think the food here is underrated. I live a mile away, and always just assumed it was a place with only wine and maybe a cheese and fruit plate. That couldn't be further from the truth. The menu is loaded with a bevy if heavy appetizers and pizza entrees. Everything we tried was magnificent The Roni and Carne Italiana pizzas were both really tasty, and pretty large for only $12. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The New Chicago Pannino was huge and delicious. They cut it into 6 pieces so we could all share it. It comes with 3 high end meats, and the hot pickled peppers on the sandwich made the whole meal. The ciabatta bread was also awesome. Not bad for $10, and you get chips. By far the best wine bar, both in the food they serve and wine selection. It is located on Kent Rd in Stow, in a renovated home with a huge wrap around porch that is ideal place to sip wine in warmer weather. While they don't have a huge menu, everything we have had here has been spot on. They have a nice selection of wine to drink there and take to go. Don't know what to buy? Nice winery with really good pizza and a good drink selection. Just a couple of things that brought it down to a 3 (probably closer to a 4). 1. The table was sticky. I hate sticky tables. I assume there was too much soap in the rag they wiped it down with, but it's still a gross feeling. 2. The service took a very long time. It was a Saturday early evening, but still our pizzas took like 40+ minutes. The server was nice and got our drinks and waters relatively quickly, but damn those pizzas took awhile. They have a vast selection of wines and lighter fare. We had the Valentine's Day flight of reds and a glass of Sirah. All were very nice. We chose the large cheese and fruit plate which was a generous portion of tasty cheeses that you can select from to customize your plate. The wine choices were good, however the food was expensive and not that great. The crab cakes were good, yet they were quarter size plated with 2 but they were overpriced! The artichoke and asiago dip was just ok the flatbread it was served with was much more tasty. The Moscato was delish, so much so I took a bottle to go. What a cute little place! I can't tell you how many times I've driven past while running errands in Stow. This past weekend, a friend from Pittsburgh came to visit and we went. The weather was calling for some snow so it was pretty empty inside. It's much larger inside than it looks from the road. You walk in and basically choose to go left or right for seating, it's laid out like an old house. We had the right room to ourselves for a while before a few couples came! We each got a wine flight to try a variety on their large menu. 3 for $12 and they were not scant pours, so very good price. After we finished our flights and chatted a while, the snow was still coming and we opted not to get a full bottle in case the drive home was a slippery one. We ordered the pizza stuffed pretzel and it was really delicious. We pictured it somehow being stuffed while shaped like a typical pretzel, but it was long and cut down the middle with all the cheese and pepperoni bubbling inside like a sub sandwich. It was served with marinara and whole grain mustard. The table next to us got the Nutella s'more flatbread and it also looked really good! They also had a live band, as it appears they do most Saturdays. The singer was very good and did a nice mix of smooth music and holiday songs. In the summer you can sit on the patio and listen to great local bands, and in the winter cosy up inside with nice hearty bottle of red. Customer service and a friendly attitude go a long way with me, and both are top notch. It's the kinda place where they remember your name and what your drank the last time you were there. I am not a sommelier, but I think they have a pretty good selection. Some people complain and give bad reviews because there is no free wifi. That's what Starbucks is for bro. First off, the location is beautiful. Cellar 59 is located in a beautifully restored house that makes a relaxing and romantic setting to enjoy a few glasses of (fabulous) wine and small plates. The parking lot is a little rough, but nothing overly detrimental. Friday is flight night, meaning they have a pre-planned flight of four wines for around $12 (although you're also welcome to create your own flight just as any other night). I highly recommend it. The flight I got included a cava - champagne is not offered in the standard flight option - and a rose which I expected to hate...it was so wonderfully balanced and refreshing that it ended up being my favorite of the flight. I even ordered a second glass! We also ordered the goat cheese flat bread for a snack...so good. A little small for the price, but it was so flavorful that I'm not complaining. My husband ordered a glass of wine and a craft beer, and he was very happy with both selections (that were totally picked at random, I might add). Overall, a charming place I would highly recommend for a date or girls night. Clean, beautiful, has great options as far as beverages and food, and has very accommodating staff. It's been about 7 months since my last visit and review and Cellar 59 seems to have improved...it's like they've found their groove or something. So, building on my last review (which was still good and 4 stars)...Great wine selection, great atmosphere, great service. I still think the food menu could be a little more robust, but it would still never stop me from coming in for the night. Just don't come absolutely starving. They've got yummy snacks like hummus and really good cheese and fruit/meat plates along with some desserts (which I've never gotten around to trying) that are perfect for just relaxing and having something to munch on and complement the wine, and it will satisfy a little hunger, too. The inside atmosphere is very nice...old home, clean, woodwork, fireplace. But my favorite is the spacious wrap around porch with the knotty pine ceiling. So warm and homey. With the live blues band in the corner (who was REALLY good, by the way), add the tasty wine and snacks and good company (including the owners and employees), you're going to have a really nice, simple, relaxing time. For 18 I expected a little more than 2 cheeses and some cold bread. AND 8.50 for CHEESECAKE? What the heck! Wine by glass is also overpriced and limited. They clearly want you to purchase the bottles here. Great looking place with potential but the prices will make me go elsewhere for much better quality food and selection. Such a shame! read more

We were so excited when Cellar 59 FINALLY opened just 3 blocks from our house! Even better, we can walk there! We were pleasantly surprised to see their great selection of craft beers (including out favorite Left Hand Milk Stout! Yum!). I did try a sweeter wine as recommended by the waitress, and I don't recall being disappointed. We haven't tried any of the food options, but we did think the cheese and meat tray was a bit pricey. I suppose we'll have to try it first before deciding if it's worth the price. Overall, though, if you live in the area, definitely worth a visit! 1/31/14: Just made another visit last night and it was definitely a step in the right direction! The Margherita pizza and crab cakes are two of my favorite items, and anytime I've had one of their desserts, it has been delicious. The food really is delicious. The inside is a decent environment. There could be more done with it decoration-wise. Sitting on the patio is a lovely experience. Our servers are always nice. As some reviews stated, the food can take a little time, but it's a place where you typically go to hangout with friends, family, etc., so we don't typically notice the time.
