A very hidden wine tasting room, we visited Memorial Day weekend. They had a tasting going on when we arrived but the owners were very nice and let us sit and listen in. I was thrilled they had a Vouvray, I got a glass. My friend had a glass of a Zinfandel that was very good. They don't serve food but the owners said we could door dash if we wanted. Perfect little wine bar! Cozy, intimate, and comfortable. The owners really know their wine and they have a huge selection of wines from all over the world, and it's all good! I have not had a wine I didn't like there. You don't have to be a wine snob either. Just walk in and describe what you like, and they will find you the perfect wine for your taste. Their live music nights are jazzy and cool, and in the warmer months there is seating outside. This place is not a winery. Do not go in expecting to do a bunch of tastings for a quarter. It's a wine bar. If they have some bottles open they may let you try a taste, but you really have to trust the owners to provide you with the best tasting wine. This place is a disguised gem in Stark county! The only place I've ever been where the owner knows wines so well that based on my wine preferences knew exactly which wine I would like. Even though it's off Hills and Dales, it feels secluded and comfortable and has outdoor seating, fire pit, and occasional live music. What a disappointment! I recently won a wine tasting for 8 from a local non profit and was looking forward to going to this "great gem" and taking a group of my staff as a treat. When I called and spoke to the South African owner, I was dismayed to learn that he was only able to give me one date on labor day weekend which wasn't possible for my staff. He wondered who I was, where I got the certificate and said that if he did give me a date, he'd need to cancel it if any of his regulars came along and wanted it. I was puzzled, realizing that it was a small space and that they were only open on weekends, but was willing to book well in advance. He "didn't do that. Who was I anyway?" Once he learned that he knew a couple of people I work with, he became more friendly and said he would let me know.... I didn't realize it was a private club for people he knew and approved of. It was my mistake. I won't bother him again but he shouldn't give out gift certificates if he isn't going to honor them, however subtly, by not being able to find a date. read more
