After the Yelp event we decided to walk around the corner to the Toro bar and would you believe it, a "SPEAK EASY" in the cellar of the building making some of the most amazing cocktails and sphereifications ever! Super friendly staff that is constantly moving and you never get ignored. The vibe was really cool, chill music, nice seating, great bar area and good drinks.

I've been here a few times before and it has always been a good experience. I stopped here tonight and waited at least 30 minutes before I was "acknowledged". The gentleman literally served everyone around me but me. I was at the front of the bar, the ladies to my right had to frantically wave him down to be acknowledged. I waved, he made eye contact but ignored me and served some obnoxious Chad that climbed bar stool. Never had a bad experience until tonight. Sadly disappointed.

So cool and so much fun. I recommend going early because it fills up quickly . I love the variety of cocktails. It's awesome to watch the mixologists perform their magic

Cool spot. Security guarding and IDing at the door. You walk in and immediately straight stairs. Opens up to the bar and lounge area. Great atmosphere. Not overly crowded, it was a Thursday night at about 1100pm. Adequate seating, lounge areas with couches and comfortable chairs and more chairs at the bar. Had one drink, an old fashioned, looked fancy, tasted okay. Nothing special. Live entertainment, really enjoyed that, she sang very well. Clean bathrooms. I would definitely return.

We discovered Cellar Mixology after it was recommended to us and what a fabulous experience it was! This truly hidden gem located in the cellar below Toro Kitchen had everything from a cool vibe to skilled bartenders crafting unique mixed drinks. This is a great little speak easy worth visiting for the quality craft cocktails, the ambiance and choreographed mixology experience offered by the bartenders.

Fun speakeasy!! Loved these little "tide pod" style shots we had and looking forward to trying more of the menu. It's a neat set up how you enter, well decorated inside. Service was super fast when we went, I think it was a little before the crowds came

So dumb. Every spot is empty.

Just the facts. Too bad because this place could be really cool if they adopted a different business model and offered all guests seating. Yes you DO need a reservation for a $170 bottle of something otherwise wherever your sitting (on the sofas) they will shoo you away. A friend of mine came down around 8 ish after dinner upstairs and we were literally shooed out of 3 different empty Sofas down there and only option was to stand The manager on duty even took my brand new drink that I had sat on the table and after she shooed us away from the couch I went to get the drink off her tray her waitress ran up and got in my face asking me if I knew that was the manager?! I told her yes and who are you? It was a really unpleasant experience as I had recommended a couple friend of ours to try the place out and we eventually just left because the experience was so bad.

I first came to Cellar Mixology when I took and Airbnb experience cocktail class there last year and have been back several times. This historical speakeasy bar is hidden inside Toro restaurant. Nearby, there is $20 valet parking at Espee but much cheaper pay parking across Commerce on N Hoefgen Ave. The bartenders are friendly and trained in advanced molecular cocktail techniques such as using liquid nitrogen, smoke and spherification to make creative, high quality cocktails. I prefer a relaxed vibe so usually go between 5-7 pm because later at night it becomes more of a energetic night club. The dress code is business casual and you can make reservations for a table on their website

The vibe of this place is chill and makes you want to come back for more and being some friends! The music is like a club, maybe a tad too loud for me with a soeakead, but has the feeling of a lounge nonetheless. The bartenders are awesome, down to earth, and make great cocktails. This place is up and coming for sure in the St. Paul Square District outside downtown San Antonio on East Commerce Street. This place will become a nice hidden gem if only you can find your way in! It has many cozy spots for you to bring a date and get a break outside the downtown touristy bars. Great place for a nightcap or anything in between as you enter the cellar and walk down to a drink of your dreams!

My go to spot when I want to go celebrate with my friends ! Perfect place for a 21st birthday or friendship anniversary or simply a date with your significant others. The Dj will forever have a special place in my for always playing my requested music!! I wish we got his name, just know he's a bit younger and had the BEST energy on Friday nights. Best drink: their yummy mojitos!

I didn't know what to expect when I came here but it turned from awkward to fun. My partner and I were expecting this to be a lay low speakeasy but it's actually very club like considering the amount of people and the Dj on a Saturday night. It was PACKED. I'm glad to be vaccinated and we tried to keep our distance as best we could but you will bump shoulders in this place. The bartenders were all very skilled at making so many amazing cocktails and we were able to order in a timely manner considering it being a really busy night. Although we didn't get the speakeasy feel we definitely got to dance to some Latin music and take some photos by their cool neon signs. I would definitely recommend the old fashion and the "be like water" cocktail they were both amazing and prepared perfectly with presentation and taste. Will definitely return! Covid cautious people, this may not be the best place for you at this time but I would recommend having your mask and your own hand sanitizer!

This place is 5 starts all the way! From the location, ambiance, drinks... everything is amazing! My husband and I are speakeasy fanatics, so when we heard Cellar opened in downtown, we knew we had to try it! I wouldn't consider Cellar a true speakeasy because of multiple factors (music, liquors being served, location, etc), but is still a pretty cool experience. To enter this place, you have to go through a "hidden" wall inside of Toro, and then walk down the stairs underneath the rose. When you walk in, you are immediately welcomed by their cool and definitely insta-worthy neon signs. The place is open with multiple tables which is great for big groups, and the music is cool but a little too loud for my taste. The true gem of this place is Bobby! He is the artists behind their cocktails, and I can assure you haven't had a cocktail this delicious in years! I order a Mezcal cocktail he recommended and it was perfection! The cocktail was definitely on the sweeter side, but it was strong enough that I could taste and feel the smokiness of the Mezcal. This is honestly my favorite bar in downtown, and I can't wait to go back!

So.. this place is odd. It's #WeirdSanAntonio and that's what we were looking for. We wanted to go to some hidden bars. So we use Yelp reviews as tips and we are searching for the door with the red phone... then the hostesses for the upstairs restaurant say "are you going downstairs?" Well. Yes. To the speakeasy, ya jerk! Shhh! Let us enjoy the hunt, lady. Know better. Drinks were pricey but expected for fancy cocktails. The vibe was definitely clubby versus back in time but we were cool with it. We went during the day when it was empty. Neon lights others had complained about seemed to set a mood. We were down with it. Would we go back? No. There are more hidden bars to find. Free parking nearby behind suck it (another place that's reeling us in w the name)

Someone in our group had heard this was the place, so we walked over and hoped for the best. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately impressed by the vibe.
