    Hazy IPA beer

We randomly walked into this place while exploring the gorgeous pearl district. We originally stopped in for a beer to escape the heat and realized we were in a Michelin rated restaurant. Something that stood out to me was the lovely smell, it was nostalgic and memorable. The atmosphere was cozy, industrial, and upscale. I admired the marble and wood tables and all attention to detail. We loved it so much we came back the next day for lunch. It was the brunch menu on Saturday. My boyfriend said it was the best friend chicken sandwich he's ever had. I got the shrimp and grits and the flavors were outstanding. The service was great, we had no wait for a seat either time during the day. We told them we had to get to the airport and they were accommodating to providing quick service as well.

This was my husbands choice for Father's Day and we celebrated on Saturday - ended up being a great choice! Always love the cool interior and service was fast and friendly throughout! We enjoyed some of their IPAs and began with grilled oysters which were delicious with quite the kick and their chilled cucumbers which were nice but would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces as each piece was an entire spiral from the length of a cucumber - but they were still delicious! I got the snapper throats which is my absolute standout dish off their menu, my husband had the pork and my kids enjoyed the calamari and their pressure cooked chicken with biscuits - with their delicious house salad as a side as one is more than enough for 4! Perfect spot for Father's Day!

We had high hopes for this restaurant. Service and atmosphere: The restaurant is located in a beautiful Pearl district and looks very elegant both outside and inside. Clean, organised and modern. Service was what ruined the experience for us. Unfortunately, our waiter wasn't attentive at all. We couldn't order additional drinks or food items because the waiter didn't come back to our table. We had to ask another waiter for a check. At the end our waiter apologised but the atmosphere was ruined. Food and drinks: Food we ordered was good except for a chicken breast which was dry. The collard greens were very well seasoned and tasted great. Gumbo was served on a hot plate, however, the food temperature was on a cooler side. Good flavour and addition of alligator meat was a surprise. Tuna tartare was pretty good. The chicharrón overpowered the overall taste in our options. The drink menu is excellent. Pricing: $$/$ - not overpriced for two year straight Michelin Bib Gourmand recognised restaurant.

Had such a nice dinner here. The pearl area is so cute, there's lots of people spending time on the lawn, the architecture is nice, etc. we were able to make a reservation for 5 people on the same day on a Tuesday, during a recent large conference in San Antonio many people were in town for. We walked thru the entire restaurant looking for the host stand (missed the main door) and it's so cool and historic inside, they have a long history there and are now Michelin rated. We sat outside, the little seating area is shaded. We started with drinks, i had the frozen pearlita which was so refreshing during the hot sticky weather. We also tried the seafood platter which was awesome. I had the snapper throat and crab Mac and cheese as my meal, it was so much food and so good. Such a bomb meal, had no room for dessert but would def come back

Had the opportunity to have a meal in their Silo seating area. Awesome ambiance and very cool to sit in such a historic space. Family-style meal for our event, but this only made the interaction that much better. Their famous fried chicken was fab (probably that pickle brine) and the tenderloin melted in my mouth. Leave room for the bread pudding or take it to go. Finally, and most importantly to me, their beer offering is top notch. Their in house brews were delicious and paired well with the meal. Emily was a fantastic server and knowledgeable about the food, drinks, the restaurant, and the historic area of the Pearl. She made the meal even more enjoyable than it already was.

We had a fantastic birthday lunch at Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery. This ended up being the perfect final stop on my San Antonio birthday restaurant tour. Everything came out quickly, the service was smooth, and the whole menu felt approachable. I enjoyed the crawfish roll, which is a really nice alternative to the crab roll. Almost every time I see crawfish that's been peeled be someone else on a menu, I get pretty excited. Anyway, it served with the made-in-house hot sauce mixed with the drawn butter. Yummy. The fries were especially good, and dessert really surprised us. The carrot cake is very mild on the spice side, which actually let the textures shine, especially the brittle on top. It was incredibly light, crunchy, and honestly the best part of the dessert. We also appreciated how efficient everything was. We had a relaxed lunch, never felt rushed, and still managed to be in and out within about an hour and a half. Overall, a great experience and a great choice to eat here based on the efficiency and menu options for the pickier people in our group,

The restaurant is really cool. We went for brunch and I cannot rave enough about the biscuits! To be a good southern restaurant you need good biscuits and they definitely hit the nail on the head here. The food was delicious and the service was quick and friendly, highly recommend if in the San Antonio area.

I really like the atmosphere here. Laid back and chill. There's an oyster bar as well as a drink bar with a good bit of seating. Looks like the perfect place for a happy hour. I love the vibe. The food was huge portions. We ordered off the restaurant week menu. The portions were so large we could have order one meal for two. The fried chicken was ok...the breast was over cooked. Many restaurants have a hard time getting fried chicken right. Typically why I cook my own fried chicken at home and never do restaurant fried chicken but I went against the grain. The dark meat was ok but again the white meat was a no. Now the beer battered red fish was it. First of all ......I have never thought about beer battering red fish (lol I will now) and I have never seen no restaurant with this. I usually beer batter cod. I'm a fish lover and I loved their fish. And the portion OMG... this was the first place that did their fried pickles RIGHT. Not too salty with Cajun seasoning and crispy and not greasy. Yummy. Not sure about the biscuit but I like the outside top layer. I make my own biscuits and this was more of a can flaky layered fried biscuit. Overall I enjoyed my food except for the white meat chicken ( y'all adjust that cooking time for that white meat and don't poke that chicken) . The staff was friendly and service was great.

Walked in on Sunday for brunch and got really lucky with seating at the chefs table. I'm visiting from out of state so I was incredibly surprised by the variety on the menu and how flavorful everything seemed. The service was amazing- the ambience of this place is really cool. I love the way it's designed and just the vibe wasn't too loud or too quiet and it still felt personable, even though the place was quite packed. For the food, I wanted to order something that I couldn't usually find at other places, so we did the seafood Benedict (THIS WAS SO GOOD! the egg was made perfectly with the seafood mashup.. I would go back & get this every weekend if I could) I didn't get a photo of this because it was gone in .5 seconds We also ordered Bourbon butter chicken biscuit (the hot honey on here was a great touch), the 3 sister oysters and a side salad. Everything was AMAZING. I will definitely be coming back my next time visiting San Antonio. ** also a little side note.. their menu is constantly changing so what we ordered might not be available next time

We were really looking forward to our meal here, but unfortunately were pretty disappointed. First off it was full inside so we were seated outside (which was fairly busy as well), but they put us at the first table just outside the door. They had a cute patio with soft lighting and heaters (which granted, they hadn't turned on yet) and I was hoping they would seat us there, but instead our spot was far away and felt a little isolated. I was tempted to ask to move, but didn't want to start a fuss. It got so cold so fast, those heaters would have been nice! Food-wise we ordered the deviled eggs, I got the fried red snapper throats, and my bf and his friend each got the crab Mac and cheese. I really like fish, but something about the fried nature made me feel a little sick. I wouldn't order it again, but maybe somebody else would like it! I was surprised at how big it was, the pictures don't do it justice. My bf and I agreed the deviled eggs were just okay, and while he said the Mac and cheese was alright as well, I thought it was pretty good. We walked out with lots of leftovers, and the Mac and cheese was a great midnight snack we enjoyed later lol!

Let me preface with...it's New Years Eve, we know The Pearl is going to poppin off and I can imagine the team here was preparing for a crazy evening shift. We came at around 4pm and they only had one bartender working, but again this makes sense if you remember the context of NYE, the other bartenders are probably coming in later! I only mention this because it took a very long time for our drink order to come out which led our server to take our order after about 20 minutes of us being sat. And after that we hardly saw our server, again I'm not really pressed about the service because I know these guys are going to be slammed in the evening. We had the cornbread which was not very moist, we tried to spread the butter on the cornbread but the cornbread was breaking apart so much that it turned to crumbs. We had to use our fork and kind of mash things back together to take a bite. For entrees my husband had the chicken which he said was amazing! He kept saying "wow" as he bit into his food. The biscuits that came with it were also really good (he let me have one). I had the risotto which was pretty good but the skin on the squash was a bit unpleasant. We'd like to come again on a normal day and we'll order different things to see if our minds change about our overall "it was okay." experience.

I was walking in the Pearl area with my boyfriend when I saw the Michelin sign on the building. I told him we have to go in! After checking out the menu we decided we would get lunch even though I wasn't that hungry. I was not going to pass up a chance to eat at a Bib Gourmand Restaurant that I'd stumbled upon. Service was impeccable, our waitress was super friendly and gave us recommendations. I got the carrot ginger soup and the deviled eggs, both were absolutely amazing. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich. I tried a few bites of the crust and it was addicting. Prices were really reasonable for the quality of the food. Their cocktail menu was fun too. I got the Botanica which was delicious. The interior of the restaurant itself was so well done. The renovations that they had done in the historic building where beautiful. A waitress gave us a bit of the history of the building in the hotel next door and encouraged us to walk around which we did. I would love to eat here again, so that means I might have to come back to San Antonio.

    Can I bring a stroller?

They are so friendly here, kid friendly too. I'm sure they can find a way to accommodate. I would say yes because I've seen children here.

What phone number works best to call to see wait time? Listed number just rings and rings, no answer and I've tried a few times :(

Save yourself the time and frustration of calling. Use a "table" app to make reservations.

Do you currently have dine in? Do you take reservations?

Yes to both! Online at SOUTHERLEIGH.com or OpenTable

    Is this place dog friendly?

    Yes we are!

Is the brunch menu served during the weekday?

No, generally it is not. Sometimes they will serve it on holidays if they fall on a weekday.

Do they have Happy hour? If so what's on the menu?

Actually yes they do! Wings and warm buttery biscuits. And they'll have cheaper beers too.

The live music created the perfect ambiance, and sitting on the River Walk with a cold drink, a gentle breeze, and live music on a hot June evening after a long day was exactly what I needed. If you have the opportunity, definitely ask to sit in Bella's section. She is attentive, personable, and an absolute sweetheart. Experiences like this are what keep people coming back. Between Bella's outstanding service, Destiny's incredible bartending, and Jeremy's hands-on leadership, this team delivered an exceptional dining experience. 10/10. Highly recommend!
