This is a review I still cannot believe I'm writing. The events that occurred during my visit to this business are like nothing I have ever experienced in my life. On my initial visit it was a simple as a iPhone screen repair. I usually take my phone to my favorite place in Plano, but figured I'd give this place a try since its in Allen. I foolishly did not look at previous reviews, otherwise I would not have come here. I walk in and explain the problem. The screen won't come one and is just black. They fixed the screen, while they were much more expensive than the place I typically go to, the screen is repaired, and I leave with a working phone. A few days later, the screen goes black for no reason and has a line down the middle. Nothing was done to the phone to cause this. I bring the phone in and show him that the phone screen is blank with a line through it. He immediately starts ranting that I pressed the screen too hard, which makes no sense since the phones being used as normal and has been used as normal. This is pretty annoying, and I let him know that it is not normal for a screen to go bad because you think someone pressed too hard, its a poor excuse. I then look at the receipt and see that the receipt states there is a 60 day warranty unless the screen is cracked or there is water damage. I let him know this. Then he changes his story, and he tells me he thinks my screen is water damaged. At this point, he hasn't even looked at the phone or held the phone. I let him see the phone. While he's holding phone, I take a picture of him... I know I'm going to want to have this picture and I know I'm going to leave a bad review. He tells me don't take my picture or I'll keep your phone. I tell him give me my damn phone back, you can't keep my phone because you're mad at me. At this point, I'm pretty annoyed and I tell him he needs to fix my phone, he walks out of the room and goes back for a long while. Next thing you know the police are there. This is one of those situations where his level of escalation is inappropriate and just shows how far a dishonest person will go to justify their theft. Luckily, Allen Police Department is pretty awesome, I explained to the officers what occurred, they kindly explain to me that there is no recourse other than to have a report with call notes created by them. I got the report with notes from them, and from this point, I will take this to small claims court. So to be clear, I took my phone in for a repair, the repair worked for three days, then stopped, and the repair person tells me that it is my fault the repair did not work. He wouldn't fix the screen or refund me, and insult to injury, he called the police on me. This level of escalation is both irresponsible and dangerous. I will never shop here again, and will review anywhere I can to let the world know that if you have a repair done here, they will not back the product, will lie, and at some point may even call the police on you. What an embarrassment for a location like this to be in Allen. read more

Hell no i wouldn't recommend unless u like being belittled and disrespected by the store owner very poor costumer care and service. I went asking to get my wife's phone screen fixed and he talked to my wife and me very disrespectfully. The tall dark skined heavy accent gentleman was very unprofessional. Wow, what a lucky break I found this place for cell phones. I bought a lanyard for my cell phone, but the directions said to open up the phone itself to install the lanyard. When I asked the technician at Cellphone Repair about it, he said under NO conditions should I break the seal on the front and back of the phone. Probably saved me from having to replace my phone. I have been an iPhone user since the first generation. And all that time I have never cracked the screen, until last weekend. Monday I took it in, having called first and asking if I needed an appointment and was told no. To my pleasant surprise they fixed it while I waited and it only took about 20 minutes. It was pricier than I anticipated, roughly $175 (including tax), but I did not shop around first, so I honestly don't know if this was a good price or not. But I was really concerned when the next day, inexplicably, the new screen spontaneously cracked in two different places, like stress fractures, not impact fractures, as I had not dropped it. I took it in Wednesday and the sales person said they would need to speak to the owner, who called me back promptly that afternoon. We made an appointment the next day. When I arrived the staff said they would fix it, which they did, and told me to come back if there were any other problems. So far, so good and, assuming this screen is not faulty or was not installed incorrectly, I am very pleased with the customer service. They are prompt, responsive, and responsible. read more

Ran into some problems with the service. Turns out they didn't fix the right thing (the inflated/bad battery was pushing the screen out, and they completely missed it even though they had the phone open with the battery visible). It took a lot of conversing before the owner finally acquiesced to fix it (He didn't see where he had any fault). Although it took more convincing than I would have liked, they did fix the issue. I found out afterwards my wife also had an issue when they replaced her iPhone speaker - so I'm not sure how I feel about using them again. read more

The bad news: Two broken cell phone screens on separate phones in one week The good news: Sozo cell phone repair made it all better. I was sure my iPhone 6 Plus was toast after I smashed the screen to smithereens when I fell while running. I literally braced myself on top of the phone as I fell full force on the concrete. Every inch of the screen was splintered. I hardly believed the man at Sozo when he said he'd have it fixed in 45 minutes....for $129. It would have cost $600-$700 to get a new phone (maybe more?). My daughter's phone wasn't quite as bad. She dropped it on a pebbly sidewalk in front of a friend's house-one corner shattered. Sozo only charged $99 to fix her iPhone 6 screen. Both phones now have new screens and screen protectors...thanks Sozo. I hope I don't see you for a long, long while, but I appreciate your speedy service, reasonable prices and honesty. read more

Dropped my phone this morning and cracked the glass. Also my battery wasn't holding a charge like it did when it was new. Called SOZO and they said they could repair my phone in an hour or less. Buyer Beware! Poor Customer Service. They replaced my IPhone 6 screen on December 3rd, 2016. The screen recently started to come apart from the phone making it not work properly. I took it in today and was advised it only had a 30 day warranty. I would have to pay the initial replacement fee of $ 100.00 AGAIN. Unacceptable. Couldn't explain why it came apart but wouldn't stand behind it even within 60 days. If you need your IPhone or Tablet fixed, go to Batteries Plus in Allen. I took my poor, smashed up iPhone 5 here based on the three five star reviews and how close it is to my house. I can only add my own enthusiastic recommendation to the list. My screen was repaired speedily and the service was honest and friendly. When I discovered the phone was no longer working correctly a couple of days later, rather than implying it was because the phone had been dropped in the first place, I was greeted with concern. 45 minutes later the phone was like new again with apologies that I had to come back and no extra charges tagged on. After a horrible repair and CPRC in Mesquite I took my phone here based off yelp reviews. I was not disappointed. The guy showed me the real Samsung parts in box he would use. The phone screen assy was replaced and work great. You can tell quality parts were used compared to the Chinese parts installed two weeks earlier. I did pay $216 but you get what you pay for. I called the store and asked if they replace iphone5 power buttons to which they said yes and I headed to the store as it was close by. Once at the store the tech guy took a quick look at my phone and said it was a software issue!! I told him that I just erased the settings and it was stuck in a boot loop but I just need the power button replaced, so after arguing the issue he took my info and gave me an estimated cost of about $65 and told me it should be ready in 60 minutes.... 1 hour and 15 minutes later I go back, the owner informs me the tech guy has gone to lunch and he should be back at 3 and will call me, at 5:15 I go back as I did not get a call and I am given the same broken iPhone, I asked if he replaced the power button and he said no, he swapped the parts but insisted it was a software issue so he put the old parts back in!! Then proceeded to charge me $27, I reluctantly paid.. I went home, tethered the phone to my mac and restored the phone which stopped the boot loop (this took 15 minutes) The power button obviously was still broken so I took it to the company below and was fixed for $45 within 3 hours. Bottom line... it may be a convenient location but the service sucks and even though the shop carries mostly iPhone related products they are by no means savvy enough to be doing repair work, STAY AWAY and go here instead. Had an iphone4 stolen, purchased a new one at best buy in allen and in the parking lot someone opened a car door and hit me, scared me and i dropped and shattered my 10minute old iphone4s (it has been one of those weeks!) These guys are the best. I walked in thinking I needed a new charging port, but little did I know there was a huge lint ball blocking the connection. They instantly recognized the problem and fixed it at no charge. They are super friendly, knowledgeable, and the best option for cell phone repair. I was able to visit the store this past week and was so pleasantly surprised by the outcome! I dropped my phone off a rollercoaster ride and visited three other cell phone repair shops who told me they were unable to help me before I got to this one! Almost every part of my phone was either shattered or missing, and when I got it back it was good as new. It didn't take long, the workers were efficient and the owner was awesome. I had a cracked screen on my Nexus 7 tablet and when I tried contacting some of the major chains about getting it fixed I was told they either couldn't do it or would have to send it out. When I looked for cell phone repair shops I saw Sozo was in my neighborhood and gave them a call. I was told it would take about a week (Friday to Friday) to get it fixed because the part needed to be ordered and with the price I was quoted, I felt it was very reasonable so I dropped it off that night. I got a call the following Tuesday saying my tablet was ready to pick up, three days ahead of schedule. Picked it up and now my tablet, which is used as an electronic textbook, is as good as new. Paul was fantastic. Not only did he go out of his way to get a quicker turn around for my device, but he was also very pleasant. I have been here twice over past month. First my daughter's I phone stop turning on for no reason, though she knew the top button didn't work. Paul took into the back for 10 min got it working somehow - though top button not fixable an dad not problem since and he did not charge us anything! After such a good experience we took my son's phone which he had dropped twice with shattered screen and then on second drop stop working unresponsive screen. My iPhone 4s would not hold a charge. Scheduled an appointment online with Apple Genius bar. Showed up early and signed in. While waiting my turn one of the guys ran diagnostics on my phone. He said the battery needed to be replaced at a charge of $80. I waited for 40 minutes and was told "There are only one or two people ahead of you.". This was 40 minutes after my scheduled appt start time. While waiting in line I called Sozo Cell Phone repair. They are close to my house. Paul told me he could change the battery. I asked what the cost was and it turns out to be about HALF of what Apple wanted to charge. Drove back to Allen from Willowbend Mall and he had the battery changes in less than 15 minutes. A few weeks ago, I had dropped my Galaxy S3 - which popped the LED screen making it impossible to bypass the pattern-password to get into the phone. I went to AT&T to buy another phone (got a Galaxy S5) and to ask if they would be able to at least get into my old phone to get one very important video I had taken of my dad singing happy birthday to me a couple weeks before he passed away. The only response I got from 3 different AT&T stores was "sorry ma'am, there's nothing we can do." (Of course, I didn't have a SD/memory card in my phone and hadn't backed-up any of my pictures...ok, lesson learned!) Well I was desparate to get that video somehow so I called a cell phone repair place close to my house. I called Sozo Cell Repair in Allen, explained my dilemma and when Brandon offered a possible solution, I went right over there and after waiting a little while, needless to say, they were able to upload my pictures and my blessed video to my new phone!
