I ordered custom interior shutters from Custom Draperies by Lydia, who in turn ordered them through…read moremanufacturer, Metro Blind in Shade. I placed my order in mid-June 2010. As of September 18, 2010, only three pieces from my order (less than half of what I ordered) have been installed and delivered. The list of issues with this order. is long: there were production problems, a lost/misplaced order, and, finally, an inability by the manufacturer to expedite the delivery of my shutters due to rain and the Labor Day weekend. Two times I've been contacted by Custom Draperies by Lydia's supplier (Metro Blind and Shade) to confirm installation only to find out 24 hours before the scheduled installation that the complete shutter order is STILL not ready. Obviously the supplier used by Custom Draperies by Lydia is lacking in quality control as this was noticed after I was told that everything was ready to be installed this week. I have spent several thousand dollars on these custom shutters and this has been, by far, the worst service I've ever received from any company in any industry. Case in point: two days ago I was contacted by "Jay" @ Metro Blind and Shade (Custom Draperies by Lydia's supplier) and informed that there was a mis-match in the paint color on my shutters and that they were working to get the issue resolved and would be back in touch ASAP to reschedule the installation. 48 hours have gone by without a word from either Metro Blind and Shade or their local agent, Custom Draperies by Lydia. I will never, ever do business with either firm again and I will never recommend Custom Draperies by Lydia or their supplier (Metro Blind and Shade) to any family, friends or colleges.

I had just had a new house built and the old house renovated and sold. I can say I've had to deal with a number of different people and Affordable Blinds were among the top in terms of quality, workmanship, professionalism and integrity. They are knowledgeable and provide a variety of window treatments that are functional and beautiful. I'm a night shift nurse therefore I sleep during the day. They suggested and provided blinds that provide absolute darkness during the days that I need to sleep but also allow me to open during my off days and allow sunshine in. This combination was a miracle for me. Not only did provide the solution for my need to have complete darkness in my bedroom but every room in my new home looks very elegant with shutters, and/or blinds and drapes all professionally installed and Kerina made sure every drape was picture perfect before she left my home. Nancy loaned me several sample books and gave me great insight on the materials. I made a decision over night and returned to the store the next day. An appointment was set up for the next afternoon and the process started. In addition, I needed a traverse rod and Nancy helped me make a selection through text, phone calls and email after business hours as we were leaving for Germany in 2 days. Through the internet while I was in Germany, there assistance was greatly appreciated as I placed an order for a custom made non refundable rod. In early November, Nancy called to set up an appointment for the installation and I was called again to confirm the time. They came and installed 3 roman shades, the travers rod and hung my drape. It is wonderful! This professionally created custom drape has added flair and enhanced the look of our dinning room.
