We have been using Kanes for about 20 years and the reason we keep using them is their service. They are responsible, efficient and professional. We had in the past two weeks installed a Solaris air cleaning system which has caution lights blinking red meaning it not functioning. Total price gouging. They give you an estimate that includes extra work that they don't do and then they do the bare minimum. Company is awful and refuses to give an itemized bill stating what they did and how much it will cost. At this point they won't even send me a receipt of my payments. It's not even kane anymore. I'll never use them again. I'm a business owner and the sales guy lied to my face (we have him on our security cam) before the installation agreeing to install it as I had directed - and then installing one unit on our roof EXACTLY as he agreed not to do, just as they had done before - - making a mess of my roof ...again! Then during the same install, installing a single-stage rather than a two-stage in our office when we previously had a two-stage and we were told we were getting the exact replacement. Before we found out it was a single stage we complained that the thing wasn't blowing as well as the one they replaced. The sales guy tried to sell us on new vents as a solution. I argued that the same vents were just cleaned and working just fine BEFORE they installed the new unit. So then the sales guy said - it must be that their tech will need to adjust the two-stage fan on his final inspection and turn it up. Their tech came a few days later and said he couldn't turn it up because it was a single-stage ... we were duped. Asked to talk to the sales guy's boss - but never got a call back. $21K for the two units with the one, "two-stage" being a scratch-dent which turned out to be a single-stage, and the other roof unit scratched and dented on installation and not installed properly which again has caused issues with our roof. It's almost like they didn't think we would check. This was not my first purchase, they messed up the last unit installed and caused a roof leak they would not take responsibility for until I got them on the roof and physically showed them! Even then we had to repair the roof and had to make good for our clients that had damages - never got a thing from Kane. I have a service contract with them and thought that if I was honest about my disappointment upfront and showed them where they messed up, they would not repeat their prior mistake (that they blamed on an employee no longer working for them). All of this was in writing. In the end, they got our money and the units they stuck us with, with some repairs to their installation, will do - for now - but this is not the way to foster a loyal customer. We are repairing the roof - again, making repairs to their installation, AND the single-stage won't push enough air to give any cooling to our back office so we have to keep the door open to the front office and use a fan. We will make due, but I would not treat my customers this way. read more

Disorganized, misleading, and overpriced -- do not trust this company After the frustrating experience with Deane Electric, we tried Kane Air Conditioning based on high ratings. Unfortunately, this company proved to be just as unprofessional and disorganized. My husband had already correctly identified the issue: the condenser fan motor needed to be replaced. We had already told the company that the capacitor was good, yet when the technician arrived, they insisted on checking everything themselves. While on site, they confirmed the problem was indeed the condenser fan motor. The technician tested it and said it would need to be replaced. At that point, the technician said he would have to rewire the unit to confirm the diagnosis, but then insisted we pay $200 just for reconnecting three wires -- even though the diagnostics were supposed to be free. Later, the same technician returned quoting over $1,000 for the job including the condenser fan motor that costs roughly $50-$150. After back-and-forth discussions, the technician and the manager supposedly agreed on $800, only for the manager to later raise it to $850, and then $950. Throughout this process, I was exhausted from night shifts and clearly stated I am not knowledgeable about HVAC systems. Yet the manager pressured me to pay $200 immediately, despite the work not being completed and conflicting information being given. To make matters worse, Kane Electric never provided a written estimate or receipt. Everything was verbal, changed multiple times, and felt completely arbitrary. The management seemed to be making decisions based on emotions rather than business standards, and it felt like they were actively trying to take advantage of me because HVAC is not my area of expertise. I also called the office back and spoke with Marissa, who promised they would follow up with me. That never happened. It's important to note that this company is under new management. It was recently sold to Sunshine Air LLC, doing business as Kane Heating and Electric, which explains why the service, professionalism, and honesty are nothing like the ratings suggested. It's okay, because we ended up going with Wildcat Refrigeration LLC, and they fixed everything quickly, accurately, and for far less than Kane demanded. As an RN, I value integrity, transparency, and professionalism; none of which we received from Kane Air Conditioning. Between the unnecessary wiring charge, inconsistent pricing, shifting agreements, verbal-only "estimates," lack of follow-up, and aggressive tactics, it's clear this company prioritizes profit over honesty or customer care. I had upgraded my thermostat. With the alarm company. When I went to use my heater. It didn't work. I call Kane. They sent Robert Morales out. And in 10 minutes he showed me what the problem was. Thermostat quit working a couple of weeks ago. Was putting off calling anyone to fix it because I'm new around here and had no idea who to call. Well I definitely made the right decision calling Kane heating and air conditioning! They sent a tech ( Louis) out about 1 hour after I called ! He was very professional and knowledgeable and quickly fixed the problem, for a good price! I Would definitely recommend this company and will use them again if needed! Refused to come out for an emergency! I contacted American Home Shield (yeah, they are terrible too) and they contracted this company. I understand it was on a sunday but my a/c is not working and I have a five month old baby. They refused to come out until the following day between 1 and 5! Spectrum has even improved on their arrival times but these people can't. I will never tell anyone to use this company. Also don't get american home shield because they are terrible! read more

I called Mr Moreno of Kane AC on Monday 11 July 2022 and he scheduled me for service on 14 July 2022. I waited 9 hours and no one came to service my AC and did not get a phone call to explain and no discount on future service was offered. Sadly Mr. Kanes word to me is no good and I no longer do business with Kane AC. I guess Mr. Moreno of Kane AC thinks my time is not valuable. Not a good experience. read more

Their rates have been very reasonable and I have valued their opinion in repairs and replacement parts. Employees have been very polite and knowledgeable. Ok sooooooo...... I've dealt with them for approximately 7+ years (warranty type of deal). Although, over the years they did came out and fix problems as they arose, it wasn't without a lack or courtesy or professionalism. Very long story short I called them this past Monday. APPARENTLY someone new has taken over the company!!!! This gentleman was kind, courteous and EXTREMELY helpful. He went ABOVE and beyond to remedy my major AC issue and even absorbed a bulk of the cost. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again if needed. Tech wore a mask due to Covid precautions. Very professional, thoroughly checked entire unit even though we had a good idea what the issue was. Took care of other, smaller issues with how the unit was installed that we hadn't been aware of. Informed us of how to maintain it better in colder months like we had this year. I called prior to the holiday weekend and they did the best they could in getting someone out as soon as possible. Good pricing for what needed to be done, didn't try to up sell/ oversell anything or price gouge. read more

We had this company come out to fix our A.C as it had water leaking into our house from the Unit.When the Gentleman came out he procced to unclog the line...Not even a Day later the same problem happened again we called and explained the problem to them that the water from the A.C was back on the floor!!!The Person answered the phone stated we would have to pay again..for the Tech to come out!!its obvious this company doesn't guarentee the work that they do or stand behind the work that they do.Gave us the run around!!! They stated that once the Tech leaves the line could clog back up..it was explained the reason why we called was to fix the problem..not just a Temporary fix..horrible service and horrible customer service.. read more

Prompt Saturday quote for service and install of a new heat pump on a Saturday two weeks later! At the initial consult, they were knowledgable, answered my many questions, and didn't pressure me to pick any one unit. During the install, they looked at another unit I had been told needed a motor replaced to further assess why it wasn't running by a different company and it was a minor fix!
