They did a really poor job letting me know when the results of my nerve test would be written up. Was told one day and didn't get prepared until 5 days later and I had to call and spend 1 1/2 hours talking to multiple people to get the report written. What's so sad is when you have that kind of test you have a severe problem so you need the results ASP. read more

Messages are ignored and I was told my pre-authorization was sent to my insurance and that they were the hold-up...called my insurance and the checked and said a referral had never been received by them...worst patient care ever... truly seems they do not care about their patients. Would never recommend Dr. Schroeder, for any procedure. I had the worst and unpleasant appointment in 2016. He told me my problems were in my head and nothing he could do. I was so upset as I had to drive 2 hours to get there to see him at 7 am as the neurologist felt this should be a stat appt. This doctor is worthless, and yes I told him so. Getting tired of poor care! It took exactly 1 year before I got the needed surgery for my neck in which I would have been paralyzed if I had a hard fall.I was hospitalized for a week and to rehab center for another week! I waited 4 months for my appt today to maybe finally find out what is wrong with me. I got to my 1pm appt half an hour early just to be told that my appt was last week. I advised the front desk staff that that was incorrect and that I had confirmed it for today. I was asked to sit and wait for the MA supervisor Barb to come assist me with rescheduling my appt. Barb was supposed to be back from lunch at 1pm. At 1:20pm Barb finally arrived at first completely dismissing me to ask the receptionist what was going on, then she turned to me and told me that I had missed my appointment and it was my own fault and I should do better. She then handed me a new appointment card without asking me first if the day or time would work for me and walked off. I told the receptionist that I did not appreciate her manager speaking down to me and making me feel so stupid. She advised that Barb was not her manager but that she would be more than happy to get her manager for me. Her manager Tarese was extremely apologetic for the way I had been treated. She advised that she would be reporting Barb to her supervisor and that their supervisor would be in the office tomorrow and that she would bring it up again. She took all of my information so that when I came in for my next appointment I wouldn't have to wait as long. I am extremely embarrassed. It is hard enough spending my entire life with a chronic illness that I don't understand but to be humiliated in such a way while trying to find a solution was completely dehumanizing. read more

My girlfriend has been going to this doctor at this clinic for a year and all he is focused on is she has migraines. So far he hasn't helped. Especially during the pandemic getting or making appointments for a better doctor is very difficult. Just because his specialty is "migraines". If I could give CNS a negative rating I would. Waited 2 months for an appointment with not a doctor but a nurse practitioner. Finally the day came and I got to deal with a very rude med assistant first and the the NP who told me my problem is being caused by my weight no other possibility. He did no exam, couldn't show this on the MRI and was dismissive when I asked that a basic neuro test be run. Had to wait an additional 6 weeks for the test, which was partly done by a doctor whose name I never got and who had the possibly the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered. After being told that the test was unconclusive I went back to the NP to be told that they couldn't help me. 2 weeks later I was seen at the Mayo clinic and 3 days later received my results. The center for neurosciences totally missed that I have Multiple Sclerosis. Avoid this place at all costs!! read more

It reminds of "old school" Medicine of years ago. He totally prepared me every step of the way so there were no surprises during treatment. I have been experiencing issues with my medication- which I concluded after much research because I did not want to waste my doctor's precious time. Finally made an appointment to discuss it.. and he told me I need a psychiatrist. Would not let me talk, kept cutting me off and did not seem interested in the fact that I was struggling on a medication HE prescribed. He had to look back into my files to see what type of epilepsy I had, did not have an idea of my past and I've been going to him for 4 years. I was referred to this group of medical professionals by my surgeon who has done nine spinal surgeries on me. I had scheduled three appointments all of which I had to call and reschedule due to five spine surgeries in one year. When I called to finally get in, I was told the provider Tees, NP refused to see me because I'd cancelled and rescheduled three times. The staff is the rudest medical staff I've ever dealt with and I use to be a medical assistant so this really bothered me. The NP actually wrote me a letter stating how I must not have wanted to see her and how patients are waiting to get in for an appointment. Ya'll I would waste the time calling this office not the gas to drive there nor the time waiting to be seen. After getting another new MRI and talking to the Doctor I had another injection that I told him I had many that did no good easing the pain, he then wanted me to do physical therapy. I am disappointed to say that administration/supervision in billing at the Center for Neurosciences was NON-responsive to my billing inquiries (I called and spoke to several representatives and left voicemails for the supervisor x2, but never received a call back), but they were certain to continue billing me for the services received. Clinically, the services were professional. If you have a high deductible type insurance plan (HSA), and are attempting to discern the ACTUAL cost of the procedure ( we should be able to shop around for these services given the nature of health care today ) prior to actually receiving the procedure, I recommend asking the billing department for the CPT code and how to go about ascertaining the ACTUAL cost of the procedure versus the estimate provided by Center for Neurosciences billing department. The estimate given to me for this procedure was more than 25% lower than what I was ultimately charged, and as I mentioned above, no one is willing to speak to me about this and how to prevent other consumers from suffering the same fate. We need to be responsible consumers, and CNS has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to empowering their patients to make responsible health care decisions. read more

After several counselors and medical doctors, we were relieved to have a glimmer of hope. Dr. Chacon, Center for Neurosciences, Tucson, AZ, made short work of that. Within the first five minutes, she announced she could not help. Having jumped to the conclusion our son just wanted drugs, she stated that while not a psychiatrist, it was her diagnosis that he had an oppositioal defiance disorder. Note that she made this decision in a vacuum. When we were explaining why we made the appointment, she interrupted with her decision. She not only didn't ask questions to clarify, she was also not interested in letting him or us speak. Instead of helping, she lectured on the dangers of drug use as though we were uneducated and enabling. 15 minutes and $375.00 later, all we were was discouraged. I waited about 3 months to write this review to ensure I didn't write it emotionally. Since that time, we did find help. Dr. Monica Chacon was so far off base. My mother and I did not enjoy our visit here. This was the first time she went to see a new neurologist and while the front office staff were kind and helpful, the doctor seemed uninterested in spending a lot of time listening to use explain her history and discussing her issue. I gave this place a 2 just because the techs are so caring, nice and efficient. This place is assembly line medicine. You feel as if you are just another cog going down the line. I was told the only reason the doctor sees me once a week is so they won't get sued. The doctor could not tell me anything about how treatment was going. Only cared about side effects for their cya. Now I am left without medication I was prescribed because they did not care to call and up the refill when they doubled med intake. Now it is weekend and I am stuck without till Monday. The hand out they gave me says to call 911 if this happens. What do I do call 911 and tell them my doctor is a moron quack? Terrible service. Tried to book an appointment for a neurologist to see my wife with Parkinson like symptoms. Her primary care physician had even called in advance. Was told (a). we don't do second opinions. Since my primary physician had identified Parkinson like symptoms and wanted confirmation they treated it as a second opinion. (b) When we cleared that issue up, the earliest appointment for a nurse practitioner, not MD was 6 weeks out. For a Neurologist (MD), 3.5 months out. Are you kidding me. Never have I been treated so shabbily by a medical facility. It started with the first contact to attempt to schedule an appointment a week after my doctor had faxed the referral. Rude, impertinent, incompetent to the point that I filed a complaint as they asked me to do. It got worse when several weeks later an unintelligible voice left me a message with only the information that I was scheduled to see some unnamed doctor on some unnamed day 4 months later in the month of November. I then got another message a bit more understandable at the end of October that rescheduled the original appointment with a new appointment with never having ever consulted me about anything as if their availability is the be all and end all in the chain of who matters. Beware! We did all the testing they asked for, one after another. Also caught one test that was already done a few weeks prior and questioned it, to find out they made a correction with the doctor; however, no apology or I'm glad you caught that!! The main problem was after all the testing wanted an appointment to go over the results and that was like forbidden, said they couldn't do anything for my husband and passed him on. He went through 6 months of terrific pain and no one cared. Even if they didn't want to treat him or couldn't, I'm sure a doctor there can at least READ the test results and route my husband accordingly, but no we did everything on our own and ended up going to the Mayo Clinic on our own and got results in 1/2 an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and by the way, if you want to go over the results and try to make an appt, don't ever be a concerned wife or spouse that does something like this, because his assistant Angela, will come back at you and say you're yelling, even though yelling is not there but extremely concerned about why my husband is in such pain is!!! Dr. Noland: negative stars warranted. This has been a long time in coming for fear of further unkind repercussions. I had been looking forward to seeing Dr. Noland when I got out of in-patient physical rehabilitation after having a baby, going through a pulmonary embolism, extended hospital stay, and then, I discovered I couldn't walk and was in a lot of pain. I was in shock at the time and I believed some doctor would just need to do an operation and I would be good again. Dr. noland was my migraine doctor at the age of ten and at that age, I thought he was funny so I was looking forward 22 years later to seeing him again. The struggle to have a successful pregnancy was harrowing and I think if I didn't have my baby at the time I would have had a different outcome. I look forward to the "Dr. noland" appointment for two weeks. I had just learned how to walk again, I still had foot drop, felt very unsteady on my feet so I had a walker which by the way did not prevent me from hitting the ground hard on occasion. He comes in the room complaining about health insurance from something he must have just experienced. Okay, no big thing... health insurance people suck. He sits down and looks at me with a smile and says: "If I were you, I'd get my tubes tied." My stomach does a flip, my heart goes to my throat. I had gone through infertility doctor appointments to have my daughter, I wanted more children but felt more than likely I wouldn't be able to even if I didn't have fertility issues. 'Thanks a lot, Dr. noland,' I think but feel the tears beginning to unravel me. I remember seeing him at the hospital when I first came in for the 2nd time because I was not able to walk. To layman and one in shock, not being able to walk or move legs brings up the word 'paralyzed.' He didn't like the use of the word and treated me oddly (laughing and telling me I wasn't paralyzed) when I was out of my mind with pain, shock, and worry in the hospital but I "knew" him from when I was 10. As I was sitting there, I realize he didn't care about the enormity of what I was going through. I guess when you see enough patients with life shattering illnesses doctors turn off the part of their brain necessary for empathy. I realize he must have issues with the part of his brain that judges what is appropriate to say to suffering people because he says the most inappropriate things. Not a good characteristic in a person who chooses any helping profession. He had me walk a distance down the hallway which was scary for me because each step felt like I was going to hit the ground. I was already crying. At the end, he looks at me and says: "I'm not an expert in iliac hematoma (a hospital misdiagnosis which would have taken an expert neurologist to correct) so I don't know why you are here." I almost vomited after hearing that. His body language, the way he treated me, his smirk told me that for some bizarre reason he thought I was wasting his precious time. I was desperate to get my life back in order for my new born daughter. I needed someone with his supposed expertise to see through the bad medical diagnosis which was frightening, sounded like b**lsh*t even to me. no help from him. To explain how traumatizing it was to be in that appointment with NOLAND as a vulnerable, newly-stricken-with-catastrophic illness patient would take more space here. If he read this, I doubt it would affect how he treats his patients or new ones who land in his clutches. After all, didn't you know Doctors are infallible? forget about trying to launch a complaint. After dismissing me, I practically had to beg for physical outpatient therapy because my in-home physical therapy was coming to an end. Whatever he put in my file, has thus far followed me around and it isn't until they talk to him that I start getting bad medical treatment from other doctors. Bad in terms of no empathy, understanding and in the beginning outright rudeness and all I had done was reach out for help. ..I find out later that my own mom, ten or so years from that time had a cascade of bizarre symptoms that landed her in the ER... and who sees her? Dr. No (-help) land.... he labels her symptoms psychological in origin and dismisses her. Other doctors don't buy that so they call in a special doctor who detects a form of strep which was causing her symptoms. She was treated and the symptoms left... this info didn't reach me until after I saw this neurologist. I guess I was baffling to him and so he needed to get rid of me because maybe he didn't want to exert the brain power? He did the same thing to my mom so maybe it's his M.O.? I still try to make sense of what happened in that office. It is so baffling and incomprehensible to me. I don't know how other decent doctors could work in the same building as him. I was correctly diagnosed later by a different neurologist and undergo continued treatment for a chronic illness which I didn't ask for. read more

Dr Badruddoja is a horrible doctor. When asked if I could have surgery for my severe occipital neuralgia, he said NO! I finally found out that no one in Arizona does the surgery.! Several neurologists have just said NO. Do they tell the patient in extremely severe pain for 38 years you could have surgery in another state? Received a call stating that I had to reschedule my son's appointment since the doctor would not be in on the scheduled day. Called back at 2:10 PM and sat on hold for 18 minutes. I thought the office was closed or something. When someone finally answered, they said they couldn't help me because I needed to schedule with pediatric scheduling (which there is no separate option for when you call in!). At least have a pediatric scheduling option on the automated system when you call in, so you don't have to be transferred to someone else after sitting on hold! They transferred me to pediatric scheduling where all I got was voicemail. How do you schedule an appointment on voicemail? I would not recommend this office to anyone. read more

I write this as a POA for a friend in AZ. No one should make an appointment for themselves or loved ones with r. Reynolds. First, he never sees his patients. His PA, Marsela Aguayo, is assigned to all patients and she is the one practicing neurology on his patients. The office staff is inefficient and rude, wait times are ridiculous. Ms. Aguayo has zero bedside manner, does not listen, and does not complete medical files accurately. She refused to correct inaccurate information included in her report. She reports information that is not asked or verified and does not read history or care for the reason for visits...she decides what that patient needs regardless of the referral. I wrote a letter of complaint to the PA and MD and never received a response nor did they correct their attitude with the follow up visit. Finding new neurologist...hope I've saved you the trouble and you'll never try this practice. read more

He was an odd duck, but professional, kind, thorough, and actually kind of unexpectedly funny and relatable with my 3-year-old. He spent a lot of time with us and not only read and re-read the history/intake form, but clarified and delved into every facet of my daughter. We got a thorough evaluation and plan, and some answers! I would recommend this place, at least based on our experience seeing Dr. Gray. read more

Brenne Allen in the last week ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. 1. Amy Tees is an inexperienced NP that doesn't know how to treat a patient with migraines. AT ALL. 2. After speaking with Dr Nolan about my experience, he had me taken on as a patient. He then proceeded to tell me, after I requested to speak to him about the issues I was having with Tees, that he literally didn't care about what i had to say. After I requested a Dr's note because I missed over a week of college classes due to my migraines, he told me to my face that "I'm not here to babysit you." Because I requested that he do his job and write a note. 3. I requested to change doctors after that, and the office refused to allow me to do so. 4. After trying to lodge a complaint with anyone in their offices about both of their utter disregard for proper care of a patient, I received a letter in the mail from Doctor Nolan stating that he was refusing to treat me because I was not following his patient care plan, such as taking the medications he prescribed, even though I was, and had been doing so- even though his course of treatment was ineffective. 5. As a result of this treatment, I had to seek a neurologist IN PHOENIX that accepted my insurance and could treat me properly, and respectfully. 6. I eventually changed my insurance and went back to the doctor I had for years before I turned 26. He is completely professional, highly respected, and a dream to work with, compared to Dr Nolan. 7. I had written a Google review about 6 months ago that was INCREDIBLY more detailed about my experience with Dr Nolan (including how he was so disrespectful he had made me cry, and how utterly horrified I was at being treated the way I had been), which he'd flagged and had removed from Google. So I've rewritten it, and am posting a review about my experience everywhere, so no one else has to experience this kind of treatment by this hateful person. If I could give this office a negative rating, I would. The people who work there do not know how to do their jobs, and when you try to request assistance from a superior or lodge an official complaint with the office manager, you will have your care discontinued. My mother has been a pediatric nurse for almost 40 years and attends all my appointments, and she was absolutely horrified by my treatment here. If I had three words for this place, it would be: NEGLIGENT, UNPROFESSIONAL, and DISGRACEFUL. Dr Nolan should have his medical license revoked and I have been considering filing a complaint with the Arizona Board of Nursing against Tees. Take your business elsewhere. I have told several people they would be better off getting treatment from the back of a van in Mexico rather than at the Center for Neurosciences. read more

Disappointed with the customer service with this facility. Front end staff are disconnected from both the patient and the clinical providers. I had a scheduled appointment for two morning procedures, which were apparently canceled by the Center the day before, only leaving a message confirming a different date weeks later. Three attempted calls to the Center were not returned, and when arriving at 0715 I was informed it could not be done today. No accommodations, no "we will fit you in today". Arrogance and unresponsiveness all around. Does the clinical staff know this, or do they care? Will ask my PCP and other specialists for a referral to a different neuro provider as this is not an acceptable practice. read more

I was referred to Doctor Abhay Sanan on March 22, 2019 for severe lower back pain after an accident. After a week of not hearing from them, I called to see when I could get an appointment. I was told that the referral hadn't been received yet. I told the person that I had watched the fax being sent. I was told that they had lots of referrals and it took time to look through them. I waited in pain for another week and called again. This time I was told the doctor had to review the referral and then he would decide if he would treat me. I called back two days later and was told they hadn't received anything yet. After I complained about the lie, I was told that the doctor doesn't like to take on patients with previous back surgeries, but he would review my files. I told them my new insurance was not accepted by my last doctor who did my first surgery and I was in pain. I was then told that the doctor would review my information and get back to me. Today, August, 14, I got a call from the office and was told that the doctor reviewed my case and rejected me for having prior surgery, that he did not work with scoliosis cases and for me to call my primary again and get another referral. Fortunately, yesterday my first doctor, Dr. Putty, said they now accepted my insurance and I could get in immediately. My opinion about The Center for Neuroscience is that the staff is incompetent and rude and they lie. They have a back doctor that is not completely trained in his profession to deal with back issues. If I could give a negative star rating, I would have. I recommend anyone with back issues see Doctor Timothy Putty. Our 95 year old father had an appointment scheduled almost a year ago, that was changed at the last minute to a telehealth appointment. We cancelled, as the services required would not be appropriate for a 95 year old sitting in front of a computer monitor and having an effective, meaningful appointment. The office staff is very unprofessional and outright rude, does not reply to phone calls in a timely manner and is unwilling to assist patients with re-scheduling or normal office assistance. This office's mantra is "too bad, so sad". The Doctors at this institution don't seem to care one way or the other about professional services being provided, or they would replace the employees that poorly represent their institution. If you are looking for poor service, difficult employees to deal with and Doctor's that don't put the patient first, then you have found the perfect place. I have been a patient of Dr Norton at CFN since 1997. He is an excellent surgeon and a very kind and compassionate person. He has more experience and knowledge of the spine than most ever will. If he recommends something you take his advice or you will probably regret it. He did a laminectomy on me in 1997 and it has kept me mobile and productive for over 20 years now, but you do have to do your work, lose weight, exercise, and be smart about activities. My wife and myself have been seen by Dr Song. She is kind, and very professional. She can seem a bit short when she is very busy, but I can't fault her for that, I have been that way myself when I am busy. I recently saw Dr Chase and he is great, he explains what to expect and I trust and like him (of course Dr Norton recommended the procedure). All of the staff at CNF has always been very kind and helpful. I don't understand all of the poor reviews on this site, it seems like everyone is caring and efficient at CNF, I would recommend it to everyone I know who needs help. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Sergio Rivera. He operated on me and I was scheduled for more surgery recently. I canceled my surgery because his PA repeatedly lied to me. Now she had told another doctor that I canceled my surgery because the doctor went on vacation. That is not true and she knows it is not true. I'll add my 2 cents worth. I've been here 2 times now approx. 5 years apart, both time I saw Dr. Sanan. Both times I was pretty much blown off. The first time I was covered under my companies insurance, he might have spent 15 minuets with me, said wait until it gets worse. After 5 years things got worse, (degenerative disks) It got to where I could no longer do my job, but during that 5 years i also went to the VA, where I had MRI's and saw a neurologist. The VA signed me up for pain management which too 2 years to get in. no longer being able to do my job I retired early rather than being fired and loosing everything. 8 months after retiring the VA sent me to Dr. Sanan again, this time he spent a whole 5 minuets with me. (I spent 1 hour waiting in a room by myself). Again he blew me off said he could/would not help and recommended for me to see an Orthopedic surgeon. I have to have Botox every ninety days to even begin to feel normal and My migraine starts back usually a week before My treatment. My neurologist didn't tell me, or her office staff, that she would be out of town during the week of my regularly scheduled treatment until about a month before my scheduled appointment. They only do botox on Friday. So my appointment got pushed out. What's that? Backup you say? No, why should she have a back up.?!! She's only dealing with people who suffer from chronic pain. Couldn't even schedule with a different doctor because of my insurance. I've missed 8 days of work because of this! Suppose to get me treatment today but their phone says disconnected. I'm very upset over the whole situation, not to mention the fact I've been staying in dark room with no noise trying to keep my head from exploding..
