I see they are permanently closed now, which is probably for the best…read more I was hesitant to leave a review for them untill all of the billing and insurance issues had time to settle out, so this is from last year. While the procedure for my son was great(which I would expect from any reputable doctor) the billing / insurance was poorly handled. We were asked to pay the anticipated remaining cost (after estimated insurance) up front to the tune of around $3000 with the understanding that we would be reimbursed anything that medical insurance covered since they only estimated the dental insurance coverage. It was months and they had not submitted a claim to either medical or dental, which I had confirmed with both providers. I called and texted several times and had been told each time that they had been submitted, but neither provider shows receipt of such. The last time I called the doctor office they said they were shut down for the past month to help resolve multiple billing/insurance issues, and we were not the only one experiencing issues. They also informed me that they were not in my medical insurance network, which they did not previously let us know even though they had all of our info prior to starting. I know we also could have confirmed with BCBS, but took it on faith that the doctors office would let us know. That much is partly on us. Meanwhile, we continue to receive texts and emails indicating that we owe additional money(because it hasn't gotten to insurance yet). I have no idea why it is so difficult now. The initial consultation and x-ray were submitted and processed almost immediately. As nice as everyone was, I can't help but recommend that you look elsewhere and find a Dr. that does not require prepayment. That would prevent issues like this from becoming your problem versus theirs. Huge thank you to Dr. Babiuk and his team. recently had a…read morevery scary wisdom tooth removal, along with three other teeth the wisodom one of which was in my sinuses! Naturally, I was nervous, but the dentist and the whole team were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and patient throughout the entire process. Even though no one wants four teeth removed at once, they made the experience as comfortable as possible. I'm still in the healing process, but I can honestly say it wasn't as bad as I expected thanks to their care and professionalism.

I initially liked and trusted my previous dentist at this office, but after they moved, I was…read morescheduled with Dr. Ke (David) Xu. Unfortunately, my experience with him was negative enough that I no longer feel comfortable being treated at this practice. He tries to come across as direct and humorous, but I found the approach unprofessional and uncomfortable. He also seemed more interested in making conversation about my workplace and stocks rather than focusing on the appointment. My main concern, however, was his treatment plan. He recommended a crown for one of my front teeth--an issue another dentist later resolved by simply shaving the tooth slightly, which took only a few minutes and required zero crowns. Dr. Xu also recommended a total of six crowns, which immediately felt like a red flag, especially when he described front-tooth crowns as "jarring" and asked that I pay the full cost of all six upfront in case insurance didn't cover it. My new dentist emphasized preserving natural tooth structure, and that approach fully resolved my problem. Based on my experience, Dr. Xu's recommendations did not align with that philosophy. While I can't speak for the entire office, this encounter left me with concerns about overtreatment. Experiences like this contribute to distrust in dental care--especially in communities already hesitant to seek treatment.

The dentist took an X-ray, confirmed the infection, and referred me to a root canal specialist -- which was understandable and professionally handled. However, after the specialist told me the tooth needed to be extracted, I returned to Catonfield Dental in pain, still with fever and on antibiotics. What truly upset me was the receptionist's attitude -- she showed zero empathy, was rude, and scheduled my appointment four days later, even though I explained I was in urgent condition. I'm not upset with the dental staff or the referral to the specialist -- but the lack of care and compassion from the front desk was extremely disappointing. When you're in pain and need help, you expect understanding -- not indifference. PS: The lady at the front desk gave me the appointment four days later, on July 25, 2025.
