I saw Dr. Robyn Black for the first time in March of this year. Yes, I did have to fill out the new patient paperwork in advance, and it was about a month before I was called to schedule an appointment, but that was fine with me, as my first appointment was a wellness check. When I arrived for the appointment, the wait was not long at all. I love Dr. Black, and the staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. Black made me feel very comfortable. I moved to SC from PA June of this year. In April, prior to my move, I made a new patient appointment with a physician at this practice. When I made the appointment I was told this particular physician was accepting new patients. Yesterday I received a phone message stating my appointment was cancelled because the facility will be closed for two weeks. I called the scheduling line today and was advised that the physician I made the appointment with was no longer accepting new patients. I had a standing appointment for 8 months. I recently moved and my old PCP referred me thinking it was the centeral primary care practice for Augusta University. They were wrong. Do yourself a favor and just call AU health's central appointment line. The staff can't make appointments without new patient forms filled out. And they can't expedite new patient appointments based on patient needs. There is no webform and no way to submit the form via a modern interface like email. Instead you have to go though their disastrously implemented new patient portal (separate from their patient portal that is accessible though the website) doesn't seem to transmit jpegs or pdfs despite showing them in the sent folder. The person on the phone can't tell you if your forms went through on their garbage messaging system. Even if they do go through, the doctor has to 'accept' you. There is no time expectation for this step, it takes as long as it takes, could be weeks. Is this an exclusive club or a primary care doctor? Each time I call they tell me my expected wait for my new patient appointment is longer, from 2 weeks the first time I called and attempted to submit the form to 4-6 weeks today. There were too many red flags, I just couldn't believe this complete lack of professionalism and poor service. Thank goodness I called the AU central line today, they gave me an new patient primarily care appointment two days from now. If I had started with AU I could have avoided hours of stress and headaches and some urgent care and ER visits. Don't be fooled! read more

After moving to the area finding a GP was high on my list. My first appointment should have warned me not to go back. Waiting time for my first appointment was two hours, and when I asked if this was normal the doctor made out that it shows he is looking after his patients, no apology. And even when I had the first appointment for the day the doctor was still an hour late. This was only made worse by prescriptions not being sent to the pharmacy or referrals for specialists not being processed. So only go to this facility if you're willing to waste your time and be treated with disrespect. read more

I've been using the Central CPC location and Dr. Philip Kennedy since 1998. He and the staff are amazing to deal with. You always get the feeling they genuinely care about you and I believe they do. I think what I appreciate the most is the conversation is always lengthy and geared towards root cause and corrective action. Secondly, if they cannot treat/correct the issue, they will gladly refer you to an in-network specialist. No egos, it's about patient care and correcting health issues. The team up front has always been super to deal with and the Nurses/PA's are exceptional. Wait times vary. I've found that trying to get the first appointment after lunch is speedy, but realistically visiting the Doctor always comes with time spent in the waiting room. I fully recommend CPC. read more

I have been a patient at CPC J.Dewey Grey Circle for 10 years and I am considering finding another doctor. I can never reach a live person on the phone. I've tried calling every two hours for the last 3 days and I still did not reach anyone. Once I held on for 36 minutes and never got a connection. Possibly the worst and most poorly organized administrative staff I have ever experienced. If you are a new patient, good luck getting through their cumbersome system and then waiting it out for more than a week for a call back. Follow-up call to make sure they got your new patient paperwork? Don't bother, unless you want someone to tell you to be patient and wait for them to call you. Then, wait another week for them to call you to say you didn't fill everything you needed to fill out, which was everything they gave you to fill out. read more

I'm actually surprised by the previous reviews. I love this place. I'm usually in and out in no time. I have watched the business grow so there are quite a lot of patients. I usually schedule the first appt of the day or immediately after lunch. One hour tops. I have a chronic disease (diabetes) so I have to go biannually as long as I keep my sugars in check. Dr. Denise Kennedy is the consummate professional. Her staff, especially Karen, are warm and thorough. For established patients, you can be seen on Saturday at one of the other CPC's for pressing issues. I think my care is in good hands and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. read more

This place is CROWDED. Everyone and their momma comes here for general check ups. I was already told to come 30 minutes earlier than scheduled, just so that I can fill out paperwork beforehand, in a futile attempt to cut down on waiting time. The nurse that took my vitals wasn't very friendly either. However, the experience here was somewhat salvaged by the doctor herself, Dr. Priya. She was extremely knowledgable and genuine. read more

I have been with my Dr. for 20 years . Granted sometimes the wait can be frustrating , but well worth the care you receive. I don`t understand the negative reviews. I would rather wait and get quality health care! These Dr`s listen to your issues and go out of their way to find the best treatment. I find the staff very friendly and helpful. I have been a patient at the Center For Primary Care since 2004. I've had a few problems with them over time but that's normal. I actually did switch out drs. there a few years ago and prefer the one I have now. There are many to choose from. I've noticed the wait is generally a little longer but never an hour like one person stated. 20 minutes is usually my wait time. What I have noticed, is that I used to be able to get an appt. faster, now I have to wait days or longer, unless it's an emergency. All in all I like the care I get from them. read more

I have been a patient for well over 10 yrs., while on occasion there is a wait past your appointment it is rare. I have gone to other doctor's offices and the same has happened. Dr. Talley is my doctor and I would not trade her for anything, she is a very understanding individual and a great doctor. read more

One of the worst primary care locations I have ever been to. The doctors are negligent and uncaring and the support staff unfortunately unhelpful. This office has cost me a great deal of money in unnecessary tests as they are incapable of accurately reading a TB skin test, claiming two positive results that were called clearly negative when verified by another office an hour later. Furthermore, the doctor signing off on the "positive" TB test never even came into the room to verify.... I have worked in healthcare before and I urge you to avoid this office as this level of negligence/incompetence is what leads to unnecessary complications and death. read more
