Treated 3 weeks ago for a serious illness. They were fast to discharge me with no referrals for follow up treatment. It only gets worse from here. I went back less that 12 hours ago and was never given a call light. I had to search for it . Dr.Jefrey Serato,OD,ZERO head to toe exam.He put false information in my chart refuse to correct it. So I just letting everyone know!!!!Don't go here unless you need a tetanus shot.Landon RN came into my room diagnosed me then refuse to advocate SMH.Unsafe and dangerous!!!!

Discharge folder with all your copies in it. Very nice to have.

I asked if they could drop them off and hour or half hour before the meal period. They refused. Take Creon with your first bite of every meal or snack to ensure the enzymes mix properly with your food. Time line said I refused a few things I did not refuse. I lost the ability to see all the comments on the time line. I would like a complete copy of them. Timeline said I refused a breathing treatment other than at 3 am. I never did. Refused appetite stimulant Megestrol - Never did. Time line said I was to get Azithromycin on a Thursday. I refused it. Because I take it on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. After another go around someone told me they changed my prescription to Monday through Friday. No one told me that beforehand. I think I have a right to know if you are changing my routine. Asked for a coke and a cup of ice several times and each time I was told that someone was bringing it. It only showed up once. Understanding of COPD treatment is lacking. Refused Albuterol sulfate treatment at 3 a.m. If you were prescribed albuterol to use "as needed" for symptoms, do not wake up to take it if you are breathing comfortably and sleeping soundly. Getting uninterrupted rest is crucial for recovery. Whoever prescribed the 3 a.m. treatment might want to rethink this decision. After each trip to the bedside commode, I sat there wheezing for 20 minutes, at least, trying to recover my breathing. I asked for a rescue inhaler from day 1 and they ignored me. I got responses like" you just had a treatment and hour ago". Rescue Inhalers (Metered-Dose Inhalers / MDIs) * Speed: Delivers a quick, potent burst of aerosolized medication into the airways in just seconds. * Portability: Pocket-sized and lightweight, making them the best option for immediate use anywhere. Albuterol Nebulizers This takes time to find someone who can obtain the medicine, go get the medicine come to my room, start the nebulizer. * Drawbacks: It requires an air supply. Comments like "You must be doing something wrong at home or you would not be here". This comment was made to me by a nurse. I was instantly angry but didn't say anything. This was an uncalled-for statement. I was put in a room and I had diarrhea. The bedside commode was a 1/2 step from my bed; I stood up and turned around and I was there. Didn't have a bed alarm at first but at some point, it was turned on. The shortest time it was for someone to come to assist me was one time 5 minutes, all others were over 6 minutes. I could not wait that long. After being in bed for about 4 days without walking, except one 15-minute walk with a walker, I was told to do a 6-minute walk test. I asked for a walker the nurse said she didn't have one and left. The was the end of that. The day of discharge a nurse came in and went over my discharge paperwork, She removed my IV and other attachments. She said I am going to get a wheel chair. After 3 hours I was wondering what happened to her. She never returned.

The staff not only took care of me but saw that my husband was comfortable, fed and kept up to date on my progress. Surgery is scary enough but when the surgeon, anesthesiologist and nursing staff exude confidence and caring, it makes the whole experience amazing. I had a knee joint replacement. I had it done on the oposite knee at another hospital and it was not a good experience so I was hesitant. This time, at Burke Health, it was a totally different experience. After waking up, having lunch and some terrific pain medication, I felt well enough to go home. A former friend did not want to go there because she said that it was too far to drive. Actually, it was less than an hour, little traffic so comfortable.

From the pre-op/education portion to discharge, the staff were so attentive, organized, seemingly happy ! A rarity these days. No excessive wait times, and I was kept informed throughout the whole process. Care was exceptional from the nursing staff, PT staff, RT staff and other medical support staff. Special kudos to the night medical care staff on the night of 23Mar26 - Serita and Jessica - so attentive and professional. Highly, highly recommend Burke Health for any orthopedic surgery needs !

Overall, they are adept at understanding family concerns and the difficulty of transitioning loved ones. The location is convenient and has lovely curb appeal that flows into the facility as well. It has been refreshing to experience a facility that is attractive with attractive caregivers inside as well. I've lived in this area for decades, and this facility has always been named NHC. The fact that it has never changed hands has meant a consistently good reputation throughout the community. While no facility is perfect, they do seem to strive for perfection. Highly recommend them!
