From our perspective, it felt like the people responsible for caring for him did not truly care about helping him or making every possible effort to give him the treatment and attention he deserved. We felt ignored, frustrated, and helpless while watching someone we loved suffer. There were moments when we desperately wanted answers and wanted to know that everything possible was being done for him, but we did not feel that we received the compassion, communication, or urgency our family needed. Losing someone is devastating enough without feeling like you have to fight to have your loved one heard and cared for. My Papa deserved dignity, compassion, attention, and someone willing to advocate for him. Our family deserved clear communication and reassurance that everything possible was being done. I understand that hospitals and medical staff face difficult situations and that not every outcome can be changed. I also understand that sometimes people pass away despite the best efforts of medical professionals. But that does not erase how our family experienced his care, and it does not erase the questions and pain we have been left with. My Papa was more than a patient. He was a father, grandfather, and a deeply loved member of our family. His life mattered to us, and his final days mattered to us. We will carry the loss of him for the rest of our lives. I sincerely hope Wellstar takes experiences like ours seriously and looks closely at how patients and families are treated during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. No family should leave a hospital feeling like their loved one did not matter.

The staff not only took care of me but saw that my husband was comfortable, fed and kept up to date on my progress. Surgery is scary enough but when the surgeon, anesthesiologist and nursing staff exude confidence and caring, it makes the whole experience amazing. I had a knee joint replacement. I had it done on the oposite knee at another hospital and it was not a good experience so I was hesitant. This time, at Burke Health, it was a totally different experience. After waking up, having lunch and some terrific pain medication, I felt well enough to go home. A former friend did not want to go there because she said that it was too far to drive. Actually, it was less than an hour, little traffic so comfortable.

I saw that Dr Cynthia Murray was on my insurance network so I made an appointment for a yearly women's checkup and wanted to establish a relationship with my new "doctor". Not only did she never come into the room to introduce herself to me, but a NP came in and was rushing my pap-smear and extremely rough. She spent maybe 5 minutes in the room. What made me feel the most devalued and angry is the fact that when I went in last Monday for my yearly checkup which consisted of a Pap smear, bloodwork and a urinalysis, a UTI showed up on my urinalysis that they did on me and INSTEAD of the provider calling in a Rx for me to get my UTI treated, they tell me I have to come back and schedule a separate visit, pay ANOTHER office visit fee of $125 to get my UTI treated. What kind of sense does that make??? This clinic does not care about their patients, only about money. I will never again in my life step foot in this place. I will be requesting a different primary care physician through my insurance. This was an unbelievable experience.

I had a complete breakdown because of my mental health. A injured foot and a year later still no better. Struggling with daily activities. Can't wear shoes still without the consequence of pain. I have followed up with my primary Doctor but never went to see a foot doctor because of the fact that I have no Insurance I felt I got treated unfairly. I have a medical bill for several places because of this injury and I cannot afford to pay it. I got some help funding coverage but it did not pay x-rays or any imaging.

It has been refreshing to experience a facility that is attractive with attractive caregivers inside as well. I've lived in this area for decades, and this facility has always been named NHC.
