I expressed concern because we were due to travel out of state in a couple of days so Caine told me to call & let them know if I hadn't improved before we left so they could call in a different medicine if need. The person who checked me out was also super helpful & asked if I needed a work excuse. This was great because I had forgotten all about asking for one. I recently had a visit to Urgent MD. I originally came there to take a drug test to start work again. Since I have been looking for a new PCP I thought I might as well get seen for my sore throat today as well. I had visited them maybe twice before and never had any problems. When I checked in I had a question for the receptionist and she couldn't hear me, so she put her hand to her ear... ummm I have a hoarse voice, so that irritated me. Once I was called back for my sore throat the nurse I had was very helpful. I then told her I also was there for the drug test. I attempted to take it but didn't produce enough urine. So she started giving me water and I waited for the doctor to see me. The doctor comes in and he was pretty cool. He told me what was up and told me what he would do. I was appreciative of him being professional. Things were moving smoothly. So I'm still trying to drink water to make sure I have enough urine to do this test. I go outside the room but see that the nurse that was assisting me was busy and I started to feel like I needed to go urgently. Two other ladies asked me what I needed and I told them, I need to use the restroom for the drug test. They advised me that other people were ahead of me and I was fine with that. I go back to the room... waited a few minutes but the urgency was getting worse. I come back out the room and see the older lady who told me others were ahead and and she told me someone was in the bathroom. I was gonna say, I'll just go and then wait again because it was URGENT. The younger nurse says to the older nurse.. "I just TOLD her that!" In the most unprofessional way you could when talking about a patient. First off... I HEARD her when it was said minutes ago but was that supposed to stop the urgency of me having to go to the bathroom at that very moment?! I advised her I did hear her and I wasn't being rude so she should not be as well. Here is the thing.. ONE PERSON can mess up your entire experience. If you don't have the empathy needed to work with people, GET ANOTHER JOB! I'm not this young lady's child, I'm not a child and I do not work for her and that establishment is not paying me to come there. I have damn good insurance and can find a PCP easily. Do you know about word of mouth?! Do you think I'm not sharing my experience with my friends in this area who are looking for a PCP?! This ONE PERSON destroyed my entire outlook on coming to Urgent MD. On top of that.. I was sick and had to deal with her nasty attitude. It takes balls to make comments like that IN FRONT of a patient/consumer. She clearly does not belong in that environment! I would have liked to give this place my business, but I guess I'm on a quest to find another PCP. It takes ONE BAD APPLE to spoil the bunch! You really have to be careful how you interact with people, everybody is NOT from this area and not playing them kiddie games! I gave them a 3 Star because up until that chic.. they were on their game! Upon leaving, I did file a complaint. I went to another prompt care earlier that morning and was just very irritated at the way me and my husband were treated. This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with a clinic, from beginning to end. I am new to Augusta so I wanted to find a PC. I saw that Dr Cynthia Murray was on my insurance network so I made an appointment for a yearly women's checkup and wanted to establish a relationship with my new "doctor". Not only did she never come into the room to introduce herself to me, but a NP came in and was rushing my pap-smear and extremely rough. She spent maybe 5 minutes in the room. What made me feel the most devalued and angry is the fact that when I went in last Monday for my yearly checkup which consisted of a Pap smear, bloodwork and a urinalysis, a UTI showed up on my urinalysis that they did on me and INSTEAD of the provider calling in a Rx for me to get my UTI treated, they tell me I have to come back and schedule a separate visit, pay ANOTHER office visit fee of $125 to get my UTI treated. What kind of sense does that make??? This clinic does not care about their patients, only about money. I will never again in my life step foot in this place. I will be requesting a different primary care physician through my insurance. This was an unbelievable experience. read more

As patients we should not be told to stand outside when it is 100 degrees to take a quick phone call. We are obviously not feeling well and to tell us to take an important call in the heat is absurd! Change that policy! Limit the time on the phone rather that tell the patient to get a higher fever by standing in the heat! read more

If i could give zero stars I would. There is no reason to have a patient spend two hours at a visit ever. Those two hours were spent waiting to be seen by a doctor! I hardly ever write reviews but I just had to let everyone know. The previous reviews are correct, this place is terrible! read more

Just switched over to Dr. Cynthia Murray as my pcp a couple months ago, and I've found her to be one of the best doctors I've met! She takes the time to listen to your concerns and discuss a treatment plan so you're fully informed about it. Dr. Murray is great, but the office itself can do better. The receptionist is rather rude, and waiting times can be ridiculous (1.5-2 hours, some of the time spent outside in the waiting room, and some in the actual room waiting to be seen) unless you go very early in the morning. Overall, would recommend. Just go early in the morning to avoid a prolonged wait! read more

Being middle aged I've had experience with good and not so good health care professionals. I've been going to Wheeler Road Urgent MD for two years for the same things I used to wait weeks for in private practice care. I've been there for flu shots, rashes from plants, cuts, dislocated shoulder and even girly type issues. Angie is a P.A. there and has as much sense and professionalism as any doctor I've ever seen. The care is always prompt, accurate and kind. I can't say enough good things about this place and wonder why more people don't start practices like this instead of the old fashioned call and wait three weeks for an appointment to be seen for ten minutes after an hour wait kind of place. Do not go here if you are on Medicaid. Called and asked if they accepted Medicaid and they said yes they should accept my plan. I can barely walk.. that's why I called in and asked. She barely looked at my card and turned me away said they do not accept it. Said she couldn't check because other patients might hear. Lies. This establishment has the absolutely THE WORST! There was only 3 people, including me, waiting to see a nurse. I have been sitting here for more than a hour waiting to be called. Also I was rudely talked to by the nurse under Angela Powell. If your job is to help customers through the phone, you should be nice, and understanding instead of rise, and challenging. This is my second visit to Urgent MD. I drove 45 minutes to see these nice doctors and nurses because I needed IV fluids a second time. At my local hospital it would have taken 8-10 hours. I came here about 2 1/2 weeks ago for abdominal pain. The weekend before I came I had extreme abdominal pain to the point where I couldn't even walk. So after it settled down I came to this urgent care facility to be seen. Although my pain level wasn't as high as before I still wanted to get checked out. So once I get back to the room the doctor comes in I explain my symptoms and she orders an x-ray. So after the x-ray she comes back and claims that she seen a mass close to where my pain was at so she ordered blood work. But the part that upset me the most is that she just wrote it off as constipation. Which I know it wasn't because I've never experienced pain like that before. So I was told to just go and get a laxative and that everything should be fine. So while waiting for my blood work results I did what she told me and I was still having the pain so a few days go by and I'm wondering about my results and I finally receive a letter in the MAIL about my results which I thought was crazy because I thought they would normally would call about something like that. But it turned out that my results were fine. So I've still been having the stomach pain and I decided to get a second opinion. I went to a gastroenterologist who informed me after explaining my symptoms and everything that had happened that I may have had an ovarian cyst that ruptured. And although that is not his specialty he still went ahead and scheduled me for a CT. I told him about my experience at urgent care and he could not believe what happened he asked me several questions and even wondered if they did a pelvic exams stating that they should of and that they did not do a very good job taking care of me.
