A couple of years ago when I was traveling out of town on business, I got a frantic call from my…read morewife that our dog had gotten out of our yard and was nowhere to be found. I was in a pretty helpless position as I was not due to be home for several days. My son came up with a great idea and checked online to see if our dog had been found and turned in to the RASKC. Sure enough, she was there. My wife went down the next morning, paid the fee and picked her up. She had been well treated, and we are very thankful that they found her and gave her a good safe place until we could come get her. My son said that she was so excited to see him. She cried and whined, and fell asleep in his arms in the car. Thank you very much

I intend this to be constructive: please fix your system!…read more 1. volunteers: please let the volunteers try to get through the system once so they understand the user experience and understand the waitlist app and how it looks, what the user sees, and how it calls us. everyone should have to do this. today i was treated rudely (like a scam artist or something) by volunteers while i was doing precisely what i was told to do by the waitlist and the front desk. 2. the waitlist app: the waitlist app is absolutely and totally broken. I waited through a list of 8 people and when I got to the top i was randomly dropped to number 5 again. I waited again. the third time i was at the top, I went to the adoption center they said my name was nowhere on the list at all. it went on and on! I was there for 2 hours of this. I know that you are underfunded but really--why is this so bizarrely inept and broken? Just make a PAPER LIST and call us, like a restaurant hostess would do. We didn't adopt, but we will from a good organization. And the place we adopt from will also receive our donation money.

And I'm thankful to World Vision for that. A lot of donors don't actually know what they do... World Vision builds small area development projects about 20,000 people large in really bad areas. So if a war breaks out in Somalia and the leaders of Somalia who receive rations from the UN can't get water to the people, World Vision might step in and drill a well if it gets bad enough. The "I" tells you before the son and the sun were I was and we were in the father as the father is in Jesus and Jesus is in me. However, these stars were stars of their own show in heaven and so it was like that when I worked here. But I can tell you more about that later. Sadly, there's no "I" in World Vision anymore. Don't worry. You are. Truly truly I tell you even if you give because when you give the weight of your heart is lightened because my burden is easy. Even when you're afraid, my beloved sons and daughters, to trust that faith entered into the mind equals your heart overflowing with hope and that hope, when knowledge converts to brotherly affection, in a life full of love on earth and doing good because good spiritual forces in heaven fuel heaven as plant food expedites the creation of good fruit. And because donating to God is good. And this action - donating, is an action that task oriented Jesus followers, faithful World Vision followers, like you, rightfully believe is fueling the faith it takes to find knowledge and the pursuit of heaven, which will keep the spirit of Jesus alive in the kingdom here on earth for years to come. So give!!!

We originally signed up for a specific child and that child aged out of the program then they auto set us up for another one, then another - no specific opportunity on our part in the selection process, we decided to stop. Well - that is VERY hard to do! First off you can't do it in the system - there isn't an Auto stop feature, you are required to call in, then there are scripts about the impact on the person you sponsored to attempt to retain. The call to stop took just over 7 minutes, the chat feature took about 2 minutes. If you sign up here be prepared to have to call in - which is actually nice to deal with a human so I did 2 stars for that.

She refused to talk to us or make eye contact, answering a phone call as soon as we walked in. We were trying to see if we could drop off two stray kittens here, and if not, if we could be pointed in the right direction. Someone else steps in and asks the people behind the desk why they weren't helping, they just shrugged and pointed to the woman making a phone call. This person gave us advice, thankfully, but told us that since we took the kitties in, we've "assumed care of them" and need to pay a fee to surrender them. These aren't our cats, so we didn't do that. They told us to go to Seattle Animal Shelter. This was a frustrating experience since we really would love for these kitties to go to a loving home. We thought a place called BurienCARES would be a lot more helpful, but instead we were met with discrimination. I talked to somebody else who had a similar experience trying to drop off a stray kitten, but was treated with sharpness and judgement. ALSO -- I recommend giving the article about this place on B-Town Blog a read. It's called "Claws come out over Burien CARES as city council debate deepens" written by Mellow Detray.

I tend to believe that people who animals are wonderful and I'm sure these people are. We adopted a young cat. They said it was a year old. It turned out to be much younger. Maybe they need more help or a marketing person. If they could get a handle on the smell. I'd be game to help. Thank you for all you do. Miz Kilmousky

I held her and knew I wanted to take her home. I was provided a reasonable sum of money to adopt her and decided to proceed. when I asked what the process would be another employee came in at which time the process was reviewed and I was told the cost would $500 for her (she was a pup)! this was way outside my budget and I certainly would have said yes knowing the outcome of pocket. when my daughter and I mentioned that was not the price quoted we were told that there was nothing they could do. so I left. 1 hour and tears later I turned around and spent money I shouldn't have. "nova" was anticipated to be a small breed (24 pounds or less) wiener mix. Fast forward. "Nova" is now Magnolia/Maggie she is 35-40 pounds and shows every trait of a coon hound. Ending: over paid for a puppy after being quoted a lower price (yes I went back and paid it) that is bigger then I wanted and a breed that doesn't really work in an office due to the whining, howling and need for activity. oh and did I mention that they forgot to send her home with meds for after spay and wanted me to drive back from Yelm to Auburn? nice facility. disorganized. Not willing to follow through in incorrect pricing quotes.

My worker was Kim Tran. Like someone mentioned below she was EXTREMELY unfriendly. Didn't say a word to me the entire appointment except to ask what grade my sons are in and to ask me to sign papers. It was a full 20 minutes or so of awkward silence. She seems miserable and like she absolutely hates her job and the people she has to deal with every day. What I'm really upset about though is that I KNOW she didn't process my application properly and I know that she gave me WAY LESS money than I'm qualified for. I come every year so I know how much I qualify for. And my income this year is actually less than normal. I usually get well over a $1000 in energy assistance. This year she gave me $300! I have never gotten that little in all the years I have been coming. I honestly wouldn't have even applied if I knew it'd be that little. It's not worth taking time off to come for $300. I see others in the reviews have complained about the same things.
