It's definitely a venue to check out for hosting events, weddings, luncheons, parties, etc. We didn't handle any of the planning or coordination for the party but everything seemed to be going smoothly. Just be aware that the only two bathrooms are right by the bridal suite. It might be wise to tell folks traveling in to stop and use the restroom before they get there right before the ceremony. The field is home to Twilight Thursdays, Bedford's own little spring concert series, and to the huge Bedford Christmas tree. More informally its my girls and I's secret spot for exploring and Ice Cream on Friday afternoon's when my 3 year old gets out of preschool. I love that they can run, collect rocks and lady bugs, climb large rocks, and dig in the dirt road (Don't worry! We always put it back!) and be safely away from traffic off of the road. I can sit on a picnic blanket and watch and not have to worry about my kids falling off of a some large plastic playground, or getting run over by a car! My only suggestion, especially for twilight Thursdays, is that those fire ant hills are crazy! I got bit several times last season.. yikes! The school house itself is classic, and is like a last piece of country history in a city that becomes more suburban and built up every day. You can see pictures from the its glory days, look at a traditional one room school house set up, attend a murder mystery dinner, or rent one of their different rooms for meetings, or the entire building for a wedding. The last time my girls and I were there, my little one had to go to the bathroom and there was a wedding set-up going on, so we were able to sneak in (with permission!) and use the restroom. The set up was adorable...a PERFECT wedding venue. If I had known this place was available back in the day when I was married, I totally would have chosen it! The wooden stair case and old beams and windows make for great photo ops! I have also attended a 50th birthday celebration here a few years back! There was plenty room for a buffet, a bar, tons of guests and a live band.. totally fun! Last year we went to the school house to take some christmas pictures, and ending up choosing one with the school house in the background for our card! We also took some family photos here last weekend... out back they have bluebonnets, and some great stairs for backdrops. ....I am kind of sad I am writing this review, because now everyone will know my secret hiding spot in HEB for pictures, parties and play! :)

This isn't an enormous venue; but you can comfortably fit 250 guests. There's a gorgeous spiral staircase that leads to the main level, as well as a glass elevator. Super-tall ceilings, a spacious wooden floor, and giant windows make for a wide-open, ethereal ambiance. It's pretty majestic. The Marquis offers different wedding reception packages (including dinner, wedding cake and cake cutting, linens and glassware, centerpieces, an event coordinator, wait staff, and security) from anywhere between $17 and $54 per guest. You can also have an outdoor party, ceremony, or reception outside (for 50 guests max). I didn't get a look at their outdoor space, but based on the inside, I'm sure it's wonderful. I attended a wedding ceremony and reception here a few weeks ago, and it was pretty awesome for the wedding party and bride to come up that beautiful spiral staircase, emerging into the center of the room before they walked down the "aisle." Very unique and dramatic. After the ceremony, guests went downstairs for hors d'oeuvres and wine while the staff rearranged the upstairs from ceremony seating to reception tables, chairs, and a dance floor. It was a beautiful wedding and the Marquis on Magnolia really made it extra-exceptional.

It's a U shaped space that allows for food service on 1 side long side, seated dining on the opposite side with dais & dancing at the short connecting end. Soaring ceilings adds to the majestic and formal ambiance of the historic location. The curving central stairway makes for a unique grand view of the wedding party making their appearance by ASCENDING into the party space rather than a more typical descend; it made for great photos! I attended a wedding at this venue, so I'm guessing that they cater as well. The appetizer buffet was well presented and the offerings were prepared to the best expected. I don't think it fair to review the main meal since the wedding party had an extended photo session; therefore the food was served after a long time in warming mode. But, if you're planning a wedding or special event I would definitely encourage a consideration based on just the location, especially if you live in Fort Worth.

Roxy was incredibly easy to work with and answered any and all questions we had throughout our planning process. We were able to visit the venue twice and speak with Roxy about their list of add-ons (the dessert cart being one of them). The venue is rustic and has everything you need including a kitchen, private room, and beautiful backyard with a wooden arbor! Everything ran exceptionally smoothly the day of the event, as an on-site coordinator was available to assist us. She was even generous enough to help us cut the cake towards the end of the shower! Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and can't wait to host another event at this venue in the future!
