So I had my wedding here recently. The venue is beautiful, I would recommend the church inside it is so pretty and has a nice homey feel. If you are going to have a small wedding this is an amazing affordable option for you. The only issue I had was not getting everything in writing, so make sure you specifically get everything in writing so you can look back on it if there are any miscommunications. We were told we would have a rehearsal the Friday before the wedding (the wedding was on the following sunday). We were also told we could decorate after the rehearsal was over because no one was going to be in the room. On friday we called to confirm the time which was 7pm. They said they did not have a rehearsal scheduled for us and that we could not come to decorate because Firemen were having a meeting in there at the time. This was the first thing I wished I had in writing, because I know we had confirmed for that previously. After this we had to arrange for everyone to come in early on Sunday so we could still decorate and do a quick rehearsal. When we were going over the contract Royal who is their event planner said that we could stay until 8pm. When we got there suddenly it had changed to 7. He ended up later allowing us to stay until 7:30 because I think he realized he had messed a few things up for us with the rehearsal and all. We were also told by him that he had a bar tender for us and 2 servers. He ended up being the bar tender and we only ended up having one server. All and all it all worked out in the end. The decor was beautiful in the church. I was pretty relaxed for a bride so I didn't have a huge freakout or anything, but I am sure some people in the same situation would. If you are looking for a nice venue, with affordable accommodations where you have a lot of availability to provide your own things such as decor, music, food, alcohol ect. this is a good place for you. Just please do not make my mistake, whatever they offer you get it in writing! We are also pretty sure we paid the bar tender fee twice because during the contract signing we had paid for everything we agreed to, then once the wedding was wrapping up my husband was told he didn't pay the 150 bar tender fee. Side note, check their hours because it was hard to reach them over the phone when we needed something. We had to call multiple times to even schedule to make payment for our wedding. read more

I rented this location for my 15 year wedding vow renewal. I used the beautiful Chapel and a large 'Grand' reception hall. The staff was wonderful and we had a memorable and exciting event. Family and friends liked everything. They can also recommend catering, flowers, etc as well if needed. They also have a small event hall for smaller groups. We used The Rose Chapel as our wedding venue back in 2009. Overall, we had a good experience. The staff was extremely friendly. Everyone commented on how beautiful the wedding was. But we did have a few problems, the worst being the rehearsal. Everyone had to wait out in 100 degree heat for 45 minutes because they were late and we couldn't get in. At the reception there were a few small issues with the wait staff not listening to requests (not setting out our personalized cake napkins). But it didn't matter because we were enjoying being in the moment and not worrying about those small things. I'd recommend the Rose Chapel, it was a beautiful place to have our wedding. Wow, forgot to review my wedding venue. Anyway, I agree with pretty much everything my wife said. Basically, they're about the best bang for your buck you'll find. Definitely get a wedding coordinator if you can afford it, though. ------------------------------------------------ Side note: the area around their location is very "iffy." The chapel itself is beautiful and the city is supposedly doing its best to revitalize the surrounding neighborhoods, but it was pretty run-down when we had our wedding. With their sound advice of years of experience, the results turned out to be a flawless wedding where groom and I (the bride) were able to enjoy every moment of our special day without having to stress about last minute details. Simone and staff were available to assist me every step of the way. I highly recommend this venue. Now that I can view the video of our wedding, I realize that we all had the best party of our lives. I had a total of 140 guests and rented the chapel, reception area, and ballroom. We had a live band and plenty of space to dance. Let me start by saying the chapel itself is beautiful, and so is the ball room. The day before my wedding we had our rehearsal, the new "director" was a nightmare. They got our timeline messed up, and expected us to decorate within an hour, and show back up an hour and a half before the wedding started. So I asked him could we come in an hour sooner. He put his hand in my face, snapped his finger and threw a complete fit. He called me a liar several times, in a room full of people. When I asked for the owner of the buildings information he then came back and told me "I'm the director I can do that". If this wasn't the day before my wedding I would have gotten a refund and moved my wedding else where. The day of the wedding, was horrible. When I showed up the photo booth wasn't put up. When I asked where it was at they informed me there wasn't enough room. When there was. They put it together away from the tables so no one knew to use it. And they forgot a whole table, so I had 10 guests with no seats. I was so embarrassed. The coordinators didn't stay on top of anything. One of them stayed in the chapel and I didn't see her for more than half of my reception. They didn't time keep for me like they promised they would. And none of the trees were lit up. I'm so disappointed. And will NOT recommend this establishment ever again. read more

As a spectator and friend of the bride,I was very disappointed in with the coordinator Jan. She was rude to the guests, wedding party and was extremely hard for the family to work with. They were incredibly rude and bossy to the friends helping with the wedding as well. Although it was a beautiful venue, the bridal room was musky along with the ladies room. The wait staff was not helpful and things did not go as smoothly as it should have. One lady would not let the photographer into the bridal suite even after the Bride's request. Then later, continued to try to lock the doors while the bride and groom were privately exchanging gifts-It was supposed to be a private conversation and moment with only the couple and photographer. After interrupting, she sat impatiently outside the door where she could easily hear the the bride and groom's conversation. Jan and many of the others stood with their arms crossed and came across cold and annoyed when asked to do anything. Additionally, they were waiting to lock the doors (again impatiently) when the group was doing photos outside. I felt terrible for everyone involved with the wedding. I guess it goes like the saying "you get what you pay for". Heck of a bargain but not sure if it was worth the unenjoyable people that run it. read more

My sister just got married in March 2012. We used the Rose Chapel's ballroom for the reception. The building was beautiful and perfect for our needs but we appreciated the staff and their hard work and professionalism more than anything. I was truly overwhelmed by every staff member there and how well they worked together. Everything was set up perfectly and exactly as we had asked on our arrival. We were able to self cater and leave instructions for the wait staff and they followe all instructions to the letter. The food was hot and ready when we arrived and was refilled quickly all evening long. The staff was always available for help and responded quickly and with courtesy when asked any questions. The efforts that they went to during the clean up were above and beyond any expectations and greatly appreciated! All of my platters and serving utensils were already washed and packed away when we came back from seeing the bride and groom off and they even helped us load up into our cars. I expected to be there for hours afterwards but we were packed up and out of there in no time and I can not tell you how much that meant to us after such a long week of wedding planning. read more
